MaryMitch December 4, 2020 Share December 4, 2020 I about fell over laughing when Drew climbed that shelf. (He should have known better, but he was doped up. ) I didn't realize that he and Julia weren't officially divorced. I kinda hope they get back together; I like Sara Rue. 4 Link to comment
Shelbie December 4, 2020 Share December 4, 2020 I’m enjoying the friendship between Gina and Drew with no romantic tension. They have a goofy kind of charm together. 7 Link to comment
driver18 December 4, 2020 Share December 4, 2020 The show overall is cute (although the opening titles remain BEYOND dreadful!), but I find myself at least once or twice each episode--including this one--exclaiming outloud: "I love Gina!" Because I really, really do. 5 Link to comment
iMonrey December 4, 2020 Share December 4, 2020 Quote I didn't realize that he and Julia weren't officially divorced. I don't think they are? If they're in mediation over who gets what that doesn't sound like the divorce is finalized yet. This is a pleasant enough show with a great cast but the writing could be sharper and funnier, and the premise is no doubt going to make a lot of people uncomfortable. 2 Link to comment

It's so rare to have a show with two leads who remain platonic supportive friends for the duration of their relationship. I'd prefer to see that over one of them beginning to harbor romantic feelings, act jealous/possessive, continue to hide their feelings, then blurt it out. Right now it's clear that Gina and Drew have absolutely no romantic or sexual interest in each other at all so let's hope it stays that way! I liked that Drew getting high meant he finally took his high strung, anxious personality down a notch. I know he has a lot of reasons to be stressed right now (divorce, his health issues) but it was nice to see him stop looking like he was on the verge of a panic attack for a little while. I'm glad that Gina and Drew's ex have met and seem to like each other. To me, that's far more interesting than the ex becoming jealous of the woman who's moved in with her ex-husband. 10 Link to comment
driver18 December 5, 2020 Share December 5, 2020 I don't see any way at all that Drew and Gina don't become romantic down the road. It's kinda written into the blueprint of a show like this. Link to comment

The first episode irked me when Drew told Gina she didn't need two kidneys. Yes, you can live a successful life with only one kidney; however, the remaining kidney is working twice as hard. We don't have two kidneys because one is superfluous, just like we don't have two lungs or two hands because one is superfluous, either. Chuck Lorre has now oversimplified the kidney donation process on two of his shows in less than a year's time. It makes me wonder what political statement he is trying to make. 1 Link to comment
