Wow, this was hard to watch. I am sure BW is in heaven that this show is allllllll about NOTHING BUT HER. Holy crap, Andy don’t know how to read a room.

Gina is on point this season, she is cracking me up.

Since we've had nothing but a steady diet of BrownWind for this season so far, I call for NO MO BROWNWIND for the rest of this giant flaming pile of television. No more of her stanky kids, her yuk-mo mom.... Just NO MORE.

Hello Andy Cohen?  If this is how you want to kill this iteration of real howives, just go ahead. But stick a fork in me, I'm about DONE with this bunch.

I guess part of Kelly and Shannon's awful attitude this season is jealousy because Borewind has stolen the show. They are the leftover OG's and now it's all about Bore and her sober story with her dysfunctional family. Ouch, that must hurt.

Shannon seems to be just as miserable as she was when in that dead end marriage to David. John is so quiet when she starts her bitching. I don't think he's having a good time anymore. Maybe in the beginning honeymoon stage of the relationship he was but now that he has gotten to know her and after what her daughter said about the relationship last week I don't see this being everlasting love.

What did the daughter say???

The show is way too much Braunwyn however, I loved that Gina embraced her and didn’t make fun of her behind her back. I never thought Gina would be a favorite of mine but here we are.
Shannon is such a sour woman. She is constantly picking at something. If Gina wasn’t upset by the “sad” comment why is she still so mad at Braunwyn? Why is the mention of water so upsetting to,her? Just say it’s a supplement and maybe have someone explain it a little better to Kelly.  I agree, no more amigos!
I hope we don’t have to see anymore of the Burke children. Enough is enough.
I loved Ginas comment about the officiant. I thought the whole ceremony was dumb but suppose it was more a Bravo event than an actual meaningful vow renewal.

Right. I'm not interested in this at all.

I'm also not interested in drag queens. I've never found them funny or entertaining.  Am I the only one? I mean, I did like Divine, but the nightclub drag queens I really just don't care about.  And didn't think the Drag Queen officiant was the least bit amusing.

No, not the only one. I’m tired of the whole schtick. I’ve been seeing it since Phil Donahue and I’m just So. Bored. Already. ...yawn

Shannon and Kelly's attitude towards Braunwyn indicates to me that they both have their own issues with alcohol. Quite honestly, I'd find Shannon exhausting to be around - she's incredibly needy.

I may be at a table by myself but I don't dislike Braunwyn.  I can't say I like her yet but I do feel sorry for her. I think she came from a household that was chaotic and where her mother was hyper critical of her. And I suspect she doesn't have a strong sense of self - she coped with her chaotic upbringing by adapting her personality to whatever the person she was with wanted. So I believe her when she says she's really only trying to figure out who she is now, and that can't be easy to do when you are both on a reality show and trying to get sober.

No, you’re not the only one.  I find drag queen pedestrian and played out in 2020.  It’s more this suburban drag queen culture that I object to.  If I am walking down the street in NYC and I see a drag queen, or a bunch of drag queens, great, more power to them.  Though I can’t sympathize with it, I can understand the impulse to be a man and like the thrill of wearing satin and lace and ladies clothes and makeup.  I assume men have been doing this pretty much since the invention of clothing.  I also used to think being subversive was part of the appeal.

What I don’t like is how a man dressing like a woman has slowly become a virtue, and something to be celebrated in and of itself.  How come every time a straight woman is around a drag queen, or a bunch of drag queens, they have to practically fall to their knees to tell him how good he looks (and I feel that very few of them ever look good), and everyone feels they need to say “betch” and “girl” a ton?  Suddenly now there are all these drag queen parties, and I just don’t think the motivations behind them are pure.

I think a lot of straight women deify drag queens and want to have them around so that they don’t have to be around other women that threaten them.  I think their presence can break the tension of a social situation, but it feels like that’s taking a human desire to be countercultural, and using it to reinforce the status quo, which is kind of the opposite of the reason that people dressed in drag in the first place.  They did this on RHNJ last year, and this show last year too where the women were at odds in Key West, so it was like, “well, no worries, because we’re going to drag queen bingo and we’ll all have fun because men dressing as women make us all feel normal and allow us to bond about that and we can tell them they’re hot and sexy, but we know we look better than them, and we won’t get in trouble with our husbands!!! Win-win-win.”

And I’m just like, leave them alone, who cares?  If there is social tension, don’t break it with a drag queen; actually work it out, which is the reason I watch the show:  conflict.

I feel like the drag queen thing in 2019 and 2020 is like the 2012 equivalent of Tamra having “[her] gay” and Jill Zarin having Brad, her gay husband, like it’s a trend for bored middle and upper class women to exploit.  I’m sure people like Braunwyn think they’re empowering, and I think they’re the exact opposite.

Totally agree with everything you said...seems to be a trend to have these drag queens on these Real Housewives shows. RHONY did it; RHONJ did it and now the OC franchise did it. Did any others do it? It seemed to be in poor taste for them to have one for this event however. I mean everyone drove out there and got dressed up for something that Braunwyn was talking up as a show of committment and love and then this huge drag queen comes out and sort of makes a mockery of it. I dunno...it's been played out at this point with the whole drag queens in the suburbs thing. Actually, Braunwyn's looney mother could have passed for a drag queen herself.

Spot on...Brauwyn had a dysfunctional childhood. Her mother was never there and when she was she ignored Braunwyn and left her to bartenders and cocktail waitresses to babysit her or sent her to her parents on a bus...when she was four years old no less. Her mother is a self centered, self absorbed person who treats Braunwyn like a she's her little sister. Braunwyn has very low self esteem and all the babies and the constant fluctuation of her hormones with all these pregnancies did not help her biochemistry. Self medicating with alcohol seems to be something that probably sedated her and kept her from dwelling on her childhood and shitty mother. I hope she gets the help she needs and maintains sobriety.

Gina doing the “finger in the hole, rock the baby” was hysterical, when she was commenting on Elizabeth’s lack of sex life. I’ve really warmed to her this season. She’s just seems a lot more honest about herself and she doesn’t seem like she’s threatened by the other cast’s affluence or take herself too seriously.
I have had very little patience for Shannon the last few years, plus her shrill, nagging voice about everything sounds makes her sound like a fishmonger’s wife. I kind of expected her to have a more refined voice considering her tony upbringing. She’s just annoying. I can’t believe how nice and normal her boyfriend seems.
All these women seem to have hulking shoulders except for Brownie. This is all about putting on a wedding dress, aren’t I pretty moment. I do feel bad this her mom is such a deplorable person. I can’t even imagine why she tries with her.

Gina is hilarious! Her commentaries this season are so good and funny that I find myself liking her more each week!

I know Emily has rheumatoid arthritis (as do I) and whatever meds she's taking for it seem to have made her put on quite a lot of weight, but there HAS to be a stylist out there who can steer her in a better direction on a proper fitting dress to wear to a (halfway) formal event! That short skirt, tight horror totally emphasized how heavy she really is.  What a mess.  (I am impressed with how after hip replacement surgery she is getting around so well 🙂 )

Dr. BrownWind is a narcissist or something because she is enjoying the cruel thrusts she's taking at her own daughter.  She means to wound.  That's a mother who would warp a child's personality as they were growing up and make them become an alcoholic for sure! I dont care for Braunwyn (or however you spell her name) that much but after hearing her bizarre mom I will give her the benefit of the doubt on her weirdness from now on.  Hopefully the season won't dwell on her much longer.  She's renewed her vows-- move on Bravo!

It looks like she's in competition with her daughter, jealous for some reason. From what we know of her treatment of young Braunwyn, she was more of an annoyance. Hard to watch Braunwyn keep trying with her.

Shannon doesn't seem to fit in this group. She's aging out.

The whole tequila is my trigger thing (after shannon had a tequila tasting at her party) and Kelly then deciding to bring a big bottle of tequila comes off as very scripted. I understand we all have our liquor of choice, and perhaps the smell of tequila is a delightful aroma to Brown wind, but if she really wanted to jump off the sober wagon any booze would do.

The son's comments at the vow renewal were very strange. It almost came off like he was speaking with exaggeration of things that had actually happened. Brown wind took all the money and left and 70s porn star Daddy found himself a young hottie. She probably wasn't 12, but that's the exaggerated part.

And what was the big focus on the son trying on pretty dresses for him to show up at the wedding in a suit and not a speck of the full face of makeup we saw in the talking head last week? He has discovered that being over the top gets you camera time and mommy has to pay attention to him when they're filming.

Mama Brown wind is a truly despicable person. While she may be better to her grandchildren than she was to her daughter, they're not safe or immune from her toxicity. Instead of trying to keep up the relationship with Grandma, I would be keeping my kids away from her. Harsh, but odds are a lot better when you cut out the cancer in stage 1.

Emily's dress fit like a sausage casing and the filling was oozing out on both ends. Skipping the body shaper in an unforgiving dress like that is for ballerinas only. I love Em's curves, and that her confidence level is up, but that dress was a fail.

Oh my twerpy lil Shane, you continue to amuse me. I love that you take nothing seriously and can come up with a flip comment on a moment's notice. Let sarcasm ring!

Gina - you've come a long way baby. Keep being the true you.

Kelli and Rick - barf!!!

Shannon - nails on a chalkboard. I'm ready for zero amigas.

YES! Thank you for mentioning Emily's horrid and inappropriate dress...OMG!!! Where the hell did she get it from? Frederick's of Hollywood? I mean, she looked like a street walker. Too short, too tight, and the opening in the back was just icing on the cake. These women really don't know how to dress well. They have the money to afford a stylist who can steer them in direction of well made clothing that can be sexy yet in good taste but instead they insist on wearing things that are age inappropriate and don't even fit well.

If John is in this for the long haul, he’s gonna be carting her around to her enema appointments and various doctor visits all the while sniping at him in her Marge truck driver voice because he’s doing it wrong.  She’ll probably drive him away before that and her daughters will be doing “rock, scissors, paper”to decide which one is going to go tend to “mother” this time.
David is a dick, no doubt but he was brow-beaten and nagged by a humorless shrew for probably a good portion of their marriage.

It will be a rare man that can support Shannon emotionally. She is a constant pit of need and insecurity. If he's going to support her financially he will have to be independently wealthy so his job doesn't interfere with him being there for her 24/7.

Her silver singles headline should be - seeking a rich caregiver type that finds neurotic neediness endearing. Must love dogs, lemons, screachy voices, hypochondria, girdles, holistic therapy and making a big deal out of nothing.

Just adding that he also needs to be willing to dig plastic enema tips out of her ass when she decides to give herself an enema just before going out because eating an orange made her feel bloated. He also needs to do so without telling her that the orange of all evil is not in her large intestine at that point so an enema is useless.  Between that critical duty and the need to hold guard so that no one eats one of the nine lemons, you're right - no time for a job.  Shannon has critical needs.

I watched this episode again, mostly because I’m a masochist, but also because everyone was talking about Emily’s awful dress, and I didn’t even notice it on first watch, and all I can say is WOW (about the dress).  I also noticed:

The “Braunwyn Burke” family made multiple references to good choices, bad choices and better ones throughout the episode.  First of all, I don’t understand celebrating poor choices.  That’s not really a thing.  And second of all, they really forcing this thing down our throats.  It’s almost like all the various characters on Arrested Development who used to say “I’ve made a huge mistake,” only that was hilarious and this is Braunwyn.

The drag queen as the officiant reminded me of the “Braunwyn Burke” Addams Family Christmas card picture from last year—anything to get attention and be noticed.  It also reminded me of that episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm when Susie and Jeff hired a woman to interpret their daughter’s wedding vows in sign language, but the woman had a huge bosom, so all of the guests were fixated on the signer and not the bride and Susie was freaking out.  Again, funny on a satire, tone deaf in real life.

Braunwyn keeps repeating to anyone who will listen that she is afraid that quitting drinking will lose her all her friends...yet it is Braunwyn who is breaking off the friendship with Shannon because they can’t agree whether Shannon uttered the word “sad.”  Season six reunion Tamra said it best:  “You’re such a fucking victim!”

I feel bad for Shannon’s kids that they always have to coexist with other kids.  When they’re with their mom, they’re with John’s kids, and a season or two ago Shannon expressed concern at the reunion that she is worried about her kids being around David and his fiancée, because the fiancee’s kids are always around.  I would be freaking pissed if I was a child of divorce and my parents had all this money, but I couldn’t get a little breathing room.  Write it all down, Sophie, publish it, then go off to Baylor and date the man there who has the least in common with your dad, who looks like a psycho stalker from a Lifetime movie!

I know this may be premature, as Shannon just unblocked Emily from social media this episode, but it appears as if the season is stacking up between Kelly, Braunwyn and Elizabeth on one side and Gina, Emily and Shannon on the other.  I grudgingly back the latter.  I hope this alliance between Braunwyn and Gina is temporary, and I suspect it is, because Braunwyn’s entire persona is bullshit—she’s like American Psycho in that I’m not sure there really is a Braunwyn Windham-Burke, and Gina slices through bullshit like it’s her job (and it is her job, and she’s doing it well this season).

Come to think of it, Braunwyn is straight out of a Bret Easton Ellis novel:

Long time lurker, first post!

Don't hate on me, but this is my one true guilty pleasure at the moment. I've watched the show from season 2-3, and it's weird without Vicky and Tamra (good, but weird!). But I've always been a Shannon fan (except for that one seaon when she was at the lowest point of her life and a real asshole to everyone) so there's still some 'old' blood in the mix. I have to wait till Saturday morning for my man to go to work so I can watch the show in peace. He hates these shows and keeps interrupting me while I'm watching and it pisses me off, big time!

I really like Gina this year. Never liked her before, she was a bad friend to Emily last year or the year before, I can't remember. But she's much nicer this year and I like how she's giving Braunwyn another chance (even though I can't stand Braunwyn).

Emily... I really liked her last year and empathized with her but she's getting mean and shit stirry this year!

Kelly's finally learned the true meaning of love: a man who will do anything for her. Okay, but what about reciprocating? Is love not a two way street?

Kelly mocking Shannon for going into the water business and saying Shannon has no idea what she's getting into, and then the scene where Kelly doesn't even know what's in her own beverage that she's selling? Priceless.

We're getting the first whiffs of the covid awareness, it's going to get interesting.

Braunwyn should not spend any alone time with her mother. Her mother won't change, and she will never support Braunwyn. Braunwyn will never get what she needs from her. Braunwyn needs validation and she will never get it from her mother. She needs to start doing some self-validation, or what do you call it.

I love Shane these days! What  complete 180 from the early years. He's so funny! Is he on Twitter?

I might be the only one who liked Emily's dress. You go girl! You hot.

Braunwyn is starved for attention and does this thing where she does something shady, gets caught/confesses to shady behavior, then cries and runs away and somehow makes herself the victim or one who needs sympathy. She's really quite good at it. As despicable a person as Tamra is, she saw right through Braunwyn from the beginning, on the tour bus in BH with confrontation about the phone call to Lizzie and Gretchen(?) that she denied, then fessed up to, cried, ran to another seat, and was followed and comforted. Tamra made a comment about it then, I can't remember what she said, but she recognized the m.o. right away.

Well, what the hell is that? What are we mindreaders? It would be nice if we knew where they came from and how they met.  Bravo getting lazy.  All they show is Brownstone.  Thanks.

Yes! Drag queens, gay people are not the straight woman's cute little accessory.

Thank you for saying this. As a gay man who doesn’t present as the Beverly Hills shi-shi-shi stereotype (even though I live in LA), I sometimes need to tell female acquaintances that I am gay. The reaction I hate the second-most is “OMG that’s AMAZE!!!! Now we can go shopping and watch rom-coms together! BFFs!!!!”

The reaction I hate the most? “OMG I KNEW it...because you never hit on me!!!”

Yes, both real real reactions I’ve experienced more than once 🙄

Onto more important things. Does anyone else remember when Shannon was trying to get Kelly drunk in Iceland or wherever during Kelly’s first season? That was a really mean, nasty thing for Shannon to do. Kelly was in tears...

....and then she turns around and does the same thing to Bronnie with the tequila and the “I’m not a quitter Hahaha! 🐷🐷🐷!!!”

Stunningly insensitive and LOW CLASS behavior. Kelly is stereotypical ASU trash to the absolute core in the worst way possible including being dumb as rocks and a huge slut. I also think she does a ton of cocaine. (Not saying all ASU grads are like this, of course, but garbage like Kelly is where stereotypes come from. Did K even graduate?)

Shannon is a harpy and a shrew and she WILL drive her new man away. Her own daughter already knows it. SHE is the problem, not the men in her life.

Still, is no one ever supposed to drink Tequila around Brauwnie?  She's going to have to learn to control her addiction in normal every day life, not control everyone around her so she doesn't drink Tequila.

This is a very good point, except Braunwyn and her husband were hosting the event, so it's their choice as to what alcohol they wanted to offer.

However, if it had been a scenario where the housewives all went out to eat at a restaurant and she tried to control what the others wanted to drink, then it would be on her to control her addiction and not everyone else.

YMMV but that's how I see the difference in this particular situation.

I am really enjoying him this season. It was so funny he was the only male on the bus drive to the renewal.

Emily’s dress was so short!!!

More like two sizes too small -- I got Vicki Gunvalson vibes there for a second even though I enjoy Emily TONS more than I did Vicki.

I can’t explain why it bothers me so much, but I can’t stand it when they ride bicycles on this franchise.  They started doing it last year, when Kelly and Braunwyn bicycled to the bicycle store to buy Dr Reagan a $1,200 bicycle, and it just feels contrived to me.  It feels like a virtue signal toward “being green” more than anything else.  It also doesn’t feel organic to the franchise.

If you live in an Orange County beach community, bicycles are part of the culture.  It's quite common for people to have a beach cruiser with a handlebar basket that they ride to the park or the beach or the grocery store or exercising the dog.  Not just for the healthy or "green" aspects, but parking in beach towns is at a premium.  Riding a bike makes it easy to go places around town without the parking problem, plus drinking and bike riding makes DUI a lot less likely (it is illegal to drink and ride your bike too, but it's unusual for it to be enforced).

Shannon’s going to lose her man if she keeps up this bitching and accusing.

My thoughts exactly on this episode.  She'll drive this one away too, sure as shit.

It appears that Braunwynnn is new to the culture.  Her over corrections were making me nervous.

I liked Braunwyn's wedding dress. Shannon doesn't seem any happier with her new man. I'm surprised she came at kelly (cunt) like that when asked about her product. Kelly seemed embarrassed by her reaction lol.

Me too -- I thought Brauny looked very pretty in her vow renewal dress.  Not many women could wear it as well as she did.  No doubt she paid a small fortune for it at the very hoity-toity The White Dress store in Corona del Mar.

That was a very strange vow renewal ceremony. I don't understand why Jacob would say rude things about his mother embezzling money & his dad hooking up with a 12 year old model. These are not nice things to say at a vow renewal ceremony.

Last episode, that kid struck me as a big attention seeker, this episode he's creepy as hell.

It was a book on how to give a blow job. It was a plot point a few seasons ago because her daughter told her she learned how to give a BJ from reading the book.

If it covered anything else, I have no idea.

Spare me the details please.

That’s it.  The dress wasn’t bad.  It was just too short and too tight for her.  Maybe she figured she lost weight so went for it.  It didn’t look classy.  That’s for sure.

She’s a wreck every which way.  I’m shocked she grew up seven kids and they are still standing.  All the nannies probably grew them up.

When Kelly was making fun of Shannon’s new business, and they flashed to a warehouse filled with pallets of her water, all I could see was that her product wasn’t selling and she’s overloaded with product.  And she has the gall to laugh about Shannon?  She lived in Arizona for years, but she had no idea about prickly pear?  She really is dumber than dogshit.

Does Emily have circus mirrors in her house that show her to be a size 2 and all her clothes fit perfectly?   So many of the things she wears are wayyyyy too small.  She needs a truthful stylist ASAP.
