Scott's accusations throw Lindsey into a tailspin; Shawn waits for Destinie.

Shawn waits and waits and waits until he realizes he is now destined to have Destinie rip him off for everything he has.

Oh no, Lindsey is in a tailspin.  But she's always so even keeled and stable.  I am shocked. Shocked, I tell you!

Please powers that be, let us see Heather and Dylan's wild ride.

Heather scares the shit out of me. Then we get to see them go into the bedroom, and watch while the aunts listen to the moans and groans. Gross....

Scott’s an idiot. I guess the sex on the floor wasn’t that mind blowing for either of them. He’s looking for a way out of this, I can tell.

Shawn would drive me insane. Then again, Destinie would also. I guess they are made for each other.

I've dated two full-blooded Native Americans and although one actually went by the name "Spirit Dancer" and did the pow wow festival circuit (pictured because he was also fine as hell and why not) outside of his dancing he just wore...clothes. Like t-shirts and jeans. LAL homeboy is...special.

I missed the episode except for the very end.  Did Destinie show up in time for her court appearance?  I saw dirt bag Shawn hugging her momma, sister and the she-beast outside the courthouse?  I get so irked at this guy being so gung-ho for the she-beast.  If it weren't for the six kids he's responsible for I'd wish him to get every single bit of grief the she-beast is going to dole out to him.  I feel for the kids having a father that cares so little for their welfare that he allows himself to be duped by she-beast.

Destine has an escape charge? She probably just didn’t show up for court. But I like to imagine she planned some elaborate caper wherein she dug out of prison like in the Green Mile or escaped in a laundry bin like Annie.

Basic white boy John is really trolling us with his Native American look. First the wedding, then the jacket, then the braids—now he added leather fringe to his braids?!? Come on! His cultural appropriation is even worse than Sarah’s! And do you see all of these glass-ensconced horror-movie collectibles in his house?! If he’s “into” something, he’s all in! But, I guess we should have seen that coming when he forced Kristianna to marry him 3 minutes out of prison.

This is breaking my heart hearing Maurice talk about how happy he is to finally have a Pops to teach him stuff and have a family. I think this is the only couple on this show that I’ve ever rooted for. A drawer full of cash along with his welding supplies?! Oh, damn, “I’ll go to the casino and turn this thousand into three-thousand real quick.” No, Maurice, noooooooo!

Lindsey, “I’d prefer for you to not think I’m a scammer, but...you know.”

John actually has a huge-ass “Bonnie & Clyde” decal on his truck. Oh, no. This is NOT going to end well with a warrant out for her arrest and him romanticizing going on the lam. You think the producers/cameramen are going to risk a harboring a fugitive charge by NOT turning her in!?

I about fell out of my chair laughing when Lindsey said EXACTLY what I posted last week.

"Run that excerpt through Google and, if it's really from a book, the title will pop up in the search."

Yet, she never took the next step and actually did it.

If I gave even one-half of a fuck about her or Scott, I'd run it myself but the words from that "excerpt" just slide off of my brain like Teflon.

Chanda cleans up quite nicely and looks to be leading her best life without Tyrice in the picture.

I'm sure the producers used her paycheck as her incentive to call Tyrice, because clearly she had ghosted him.

I hope things work out well for her.

I kinda understand tho ... talking to someone in letters and over the phone is A LOT different then being with them... if there is no chemistry you cant force it ... plus he looked fucking ridiculous in that suit like a 70s pimp ..Had he just shown up like a normal person and wasn't all over her like that cheap suite i am sure she would have had a better impression .. but she should have just str8 up said it instead of taking his money and ghosting ... the only up side is she seems to be getting her shit together

Yeah it just made him look his age even more when he wore a dated ensemble.  I remember when I was a kid there were older men who still dressed like the 30s and 40s with suspenders and fedoras and everyone was like WTF because it was the 70s and everyone was super casual.

I liked Chanda watering flowers and chilling by herself. Seems like the best choice for now and one of the more wholesome scenes I've seen on this show.

Lindsey totally wrote down her scam, lol! Also, if you read people's diaries and don't like what you read, it's on you, Scott!

Maurice hasn't had much positivity and care. No one has taught him there are no short cuts in life. I like the dad. He seems like a solid guy.

I too would watch a Heather/ Gary unedited show. Just watching her order at Denny's and giving the waitress the stink eye would be entertaining. She has that "crazy in the head, crazy in bed" vibe. Not what you should be looking for when you get out of prison but I guess every pot has a lid.

John saying he understands addiction and then wanting to go on the lam was a lot of ideas in one sentence. How about facing consequences being a part of recovery?

In all fairness, we don't know that John is not some part Native American. Genes play out surprisingly sometimes. I worked for a man who was half Chinese half Caucasian and until someone mentioned it I would not have in a thousand years seen anything Chinese in him at all. Then I had a kid who was half Caucasian half Japanese and the same thing - unless you know this, you would never see the Japanese at all.  He's (John) leaning into it, and he may have a perfect right to. So until I know otherwise I'm not casting shade at his ways.

That said, he is a nut. A well-meaning romantic nut, but a nut just the same.  He has romanticized his husband as protector and savior role to such a degree that he seems to have left common sense on the side.

Apparently Dubuque is not a bastion of family values but a hotbed of criminal activity where if you knock on someone's door they are likely to stab you right there on the doorstep, no questions asked.  I'll have to remember to keep driving if I ever find myself in that part of the country.

Whoever said reality TV isn't educational?

When the dad walked over and just took out a thousand dollars and gave it to Maurice I thought 'what an idiot'. I wouldn't do that in front of anyone much less someone who was a gang member who just got out of prison.  I want to believe Maurice is trying to be good but he just seems like he's gonna get frustrated by how hard it is to turn things around and be straight and fall into his old ways. That casino remark shows how close his 'old' thinking is to the surface.  And the dad better get that money out of his house ASAP.  Damn that was dumb.

Also, it was weirdly manipulative. How about not giving people tests they pass or fail as a way to get close to them. I hate people who play games. Just be straight with the guy and let him earn the ring on his own. Her parents are over involved. Isn't she 30something?

Very true. Let's suppose that Maurice is absolutely truthful about his turnaround and that his statements about how important it is to him to be accepted and allowed this dad-son relationship with Jessica's father. He is truly touched and it's important to him. Then think how hurt he would be to find out that this man he trusts and whose trust he values set this 'trap' for him. Talk about sabotaging a fledgling inlaw relationship.

I have a family research project I will be working on IF the plague ever goes away. I will be looking for these long hair beauties. For research purposes.

Dylan is a beautiful man, but in some lighting, he looks almost like an alien. A pretty one.

Ben Carson is a herb. He’s cute but the elevator doesn’t go all the way up. His son tho. This show has a lot of male eye candy. And sewage like Jon, flappy, mumbles, Sarah, Jon’s jacket, his ponytails, heather’s seven personalities, etc.

Given his obvious love of NA culture, I am positive John would have stated that he was Ojibwe or whatever. He absolutely has never claimed to be an enrolled member of a tribe, and from what I can see online, most tribes only accept up to 1/16 NA ancestry Ancestry, which involves proving that no less than a great-great-grandparent was on tribal rolls.

With FOUR grandparents of German origin, I should be prancing around in dirndls and braids.

I disagree with everyone who thinks that Maurice seems genuine and wishes him well.  I think Maurice approaches true villainy more than any other person on this show.  I think his efforts to convince Jessica's father that he is a good guy who has just needed guidance are a joke, but I understand her dad's desperate desire to believe them.  Maurice is not only going to fail as a husband and father, but in the course of things is going to rob everyone blind.  Just you wait.

Why do you think he approaches true villainy more than the others? More than Destinee? Heather? Jon? DESTINEEE? SHAWN? I am going by his politeness, how he has seemed sincere. He's on a show called love after love up, on the we channel, so i expect a train wreck but I also give someone the benefit of the doubt until they show their tush. I haven't finished watching yet, but I really think that the scene between Tyrice and Chandra was one of the most authentic things I've seen on this show.  I really don't hate either of them and don't even really blame them.

I think Chandra was lying about having any real intention of being with Tyrice.  That blue suit is not just an outfit, its a life philosophy and Tyrice didn't become that catdaddy in the blue zoot suit overnight.  He was always that guy.  Chandra knew who he was.  BUT, she probably needed some money to ease the financial stress of being on the outside with only a pittance from the state.  That sort of financial pressure could probably make her feel overwhelmed and push her back to her old lifestyle.  She probably got some money from a few other guys too.  She was ONLY interested in herself and maybe she needed that focus and resolve to stay sober.  She never strung him along for more money after that, even though she could have easily done so.

Tyrice is an older man who took a shot and it missed.  I feel bad for him, because boy is he EVER going to hear "I told you so" from everyone.  He is probably trying to recapture his youth....without realizing that his suit and youth left with the  1980s.  He is NOT a bad looking guy and I think he has good intentions.  He is 51 and he can find a big assed WOMAN 35 or older.  There are plenty of women his age who have kequicpt themselves up and look great.  Besides youth, Chandra doesnt have much going for her, everything but her nails were a mess in her interview.  Those teeth!  She really isn't very pretty in the face and I personally think Tyrice is an attractive older gentleman who can find a pretty but age appropriate woman.

My thoughts

1. Time to take DuBuque off my bucket list.  Yikes!

2. UO - but I'm getting some sort of vibes from Maurice that he isn't nearly as earnest as he presents.  He isn't dumb enough to take 1k and run, but I also don't think he is going to turn into some family man for jessica either.  He already HAS a child who he pretty much abandoned after he left prison.  Why does jessica think she is so special?  I think he will want to be involved in his child's life but like I said, he is going to realize pretty quick that he can do better than Jessica.  WAYYYYY better.  I don't think he is going to be a Michael, but I think FOR SURE, Jessica is going to become a Sarah.

3. Why does Dylan keep getting in a car with Heather?  She literally drives like a maniac and I'm shocked that the only damage that car has is to the fender.  I keep waiting for her to drive that car into a wall.

4.  I also noticed the display of Jason murder masks in John's house.  And yeah the cultural appropriation is getting out of control.  I expect him to take Kristiana back to a tee-pee at some point.  However, I can't fully hate him because I think he was really decent with Kristiana.  A lot of addicts relapse, even though they are really trying their hardest to do better.

5.  Scott is WAYYY more than Lindsay bargained for.  He isn't as hypnotized and pussy whipped as she had imagined he would be.  I totally agree that reading her private papers was a violation but her plan of having Scott pussy whipped and constantly apologizing to her for simply existing is backfiring horribly.  Imagine that you had to kiss that flap lip and sleep with Scott and STILL have to deal with him looking through your shit and not having the house done.

I LOOOOVE that Lindsay pretty much got played too.  Scott doesn't have the money he represented.  Ha ha.  But please don't ever show these two in any stage of coitus ever again.  Thank you Matt Sharp.

6. What the hell was that courthouse?  It looked like a dental clinic circa 1984.

7.  Thank goodness we'll never have to hear about that 50k again.  What is Shawn even going to talk about it now that his 50k is secure?

I kind of agree with you, but I don't know that he is going to rob everyone blind.  I just don't buy the "awww shucks, I just wanna have a dad and be a family guy!" routine.  I think he is playing these people for fools, but, I kinda sorta think that they have it coming.  I'm not a fan of Jessica's dad either and I find him a little condescending and patronizing.  He doesn't really talk to Maurice like an intelligent adult, IMO.  I cannot point to a specific instance, but its a feeling I get.

I think Maurice knows, or will soon figure out that there are women who are far better looking, better humored and more intelligent  who want to be with him.  I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but Jessica is H-O-M-E-L-Y.  I do not doubt for a New York minute that she was hoping to get pregnant, because, like Sarah, she thinks this is going to lock Maurice down.  She is an idiot because it certainly didn't lock him down to his ex.

I don't think Maurice is a serial man whore like Michael.  But I think he is going to use Jessica and her parents  to achieve some stability.  For his sake I hope he gets an education out of them and doesn't just keep getting money.  He will cheat on Jessica and maybe have a few long term mistresses on the side.  Jessica will be a total Sarah and will insist that as the mother of his children and wife, she is the HBIC and she will keep taking him back and blaming the women.  Maurice will one day find the right fit of a woman who is a better match for him and he will leave Jessica a single mother.  The only victim is the child.

When my parents got married, they were poor.  I think my mothers wedding ring cost like $100 or less.  They have been married over 40 years.  Why does Jessica need a fancy ring if Maurice cannot afford it.  Jessica's dad didn't want to give Maurice that money to help him out, but to help his daughter have a nice ring.

Yeah.  I kind of agree with you, too, but I think Maurice's dropping jaw when he arrived at Jessica's parents' house--which is a nice house, don't get me wrong, although not to everyone's taste (except maybe everyone who's been in jail for a long time)--was a revelation about the basic, fundamental greed that is Maurice's motivating urge.  Over and over he admired and openly longed for the *things* they had.  I saw no evidence that he understood how a person could acquire those things legally.  He didn't say "boy I'm going to have to get a job fast to start living like this!"   I think he's going to steal like he's never stolen before.

As for Jessica's father, we're on the same page, but I think you have to figure in the man's anxiety about getting his ugly daughter settled and happy in life.  Jessica's father is desperate to find good in Maurice, and Maurice knows--as a good criminal instinctively knows--what his mark is looking for and how to simulate it.

Jessica is not only homely imo but she is a little "off" as well--witness her bizarre behavior about her sister's seeing her drive through the neighborhood.  That's some koo koo karazee right there.  Not to mention the general expression of "wha?" she has for resting face.

I remember his rant quite a few episodes back about how the state of California "took" his life away, yada, yada, yada.

This, I believe, was the same episode where he insisted Jessica drive him to Nevada even though it was a parole violation and had her pull over so he could piss on the state sign off the busy highway.

He didn't seem to be familiar with the word "accountability.

He smiles and on the surface he tries to be charming, but I feel it's self-serving rhetoric.

Since there's apparently a baby on board, I'm hoping he gets his shit together but I won't be surprised in the future to read he's back in the slammer.

Oh yeah, Jess is definitely off. She's the kind of weird that seems normal when you first meet her, but after a few minutes conversation you find yourself glancing at your watch, making an excuse, and sidling away. Her affect is strange. That nuttiness with her sister.....hoo boy. Her sister probably cut off contact with her because she's an energy sucking drama queening weirdo.
