Week thirty-nine: two of five. I started off the week with a bang - Vivian Leigh and coffee break -- and then went blank. I'm blaming the 7:00 PM meetings that I had on Wednesday and Thursday.

Welcome @Josiemae! Hoping a few more show up at the T41 or a couple people seated there are going to go hungry this week. *ahem* Looking forward to the Week 39 LUNCH BREAK! And we have a couple coffee breaks scheduled too.

1/5 because I have completely blocked out Brett Kavanaugh.  I have not, however, blocked out Otis Redding and his dock of the bay sitting.  I'm a fantastic cook.  I'll do T41 proud while other T41 regulars are all off being knowledgeable.

@bybrandy, Have I Told You Lately That I Love You? (TM Van Morrison) You and your cooking skills are welcome at the T41, where I remain at my well-worn seat at the head of that table. Otis Redding and Dock of the Bay were an important part of my life back in "the day." I can't remember the occasion now, but that song and Otis remain ingrained in my brain. (Ha, I'm a poet ...)

When Supreme Court was announced as category, I slapped my money down on the kitchen counter and declared I'M OUT!"

4/5 this week - I really thought I was on a roll for a perfect week when I read the clue because there is a city called Hamtramck which was essentially a Polish enclave surrounded by Detroit and Highland Park.  But could I think of the word enclave - hecky bo becky no!  Oh well, it doesn't pay to get cocky - the Jeopardy gods will get you!

Seriously though nothing can dampen my spirits this weekend because Greenfield Village hosted its first games of historic Base Ball since August 2019.  I got to attend both the Saturday and Sunday matches, see good friends and enjoy a ton of fresh air even in the heat of the weekend.  These games are truly my summer moments of Zen so all is well in Grundoon world.

3/5.  And though I floundered on the two I missed, I literally couldn't think what else it could be for the three I knew. Each was an IG and then think time spent wondering what else it could possibly be. (Vivien Leigh, Otis Redding, enclave.)

I will join you at the Table for 5, and since I was inspired by a cooking show this weekend, I am bringing honey-cinnamon bubble bread (AKA monkey bread), enough to share with all the tables!

Gosh, it's just Monday and everyone has reported in. For Week 39 we have co-winners again, two of our players being showcased for having identical scores for four weeks in a row. The fact that they sit next to each other on my score sheet has nothing to do with that coinky-dince, does it? Of course not!

So to reflect the consistency of these two fine players, here is a MIRROR ball trophy for @Good Queen Jane and @GrannySmith. Long may you both SHINE in the weeks to come. Congratulations to both of you for your stellar achievements!

3/5 - the middle three. Monday & Friday blew chunks.

Same here. I always forget about James Monroe, and my first thought for Friday was Doyle, but figured that European meant from the continent so went with Ibsen.

WEEK 40 • June 14, 2021 — ONE asterisk  *

It looks like a small but excellent group at T4-1.  It's so hot and humid I suggest we order in something good; suggestions welcome.

I'm not sure about the main dish - but I'm thinking ice cream for dessert.

Definitely ice cream! Maybe with fresh strawberries.

I vote chicken and avocado salad in wraps for main course. Any other suggestions gratefully accepted.

I'm sure I've gotten an asterisk before but it has been a bit.

Last one was 11 weeks ago. You were due for another! There's been only one other asterisk out of 14 reported scores so far.
