I'm no Kiersten fan but clearly she had the best car wash performance and her body looked slammin (if her look floats your boat).

I hated the carwash thing but Kiersten and Mack did the best job in my opinion. but everyone hates Mack and nobody remembers or cares about Kierstan because she went first.  Whenever Lauren does ANYTHING, even though she was wearing those stupid goat/alien hair horns on her head, the guys all act like this:

"The Great World of Cry-na" was a great line by the narrator.

It was funny when Kierstan was doing the car wash scene.  I think he said something like "Has Kierstan played this game before?  We literally invented it hours ago and she's already Jordan-ing it."

I'm not sure if Justine meant that she already told Tre that she liked Caleb.  I think Justine meant that she told Tre she'd be open to exploring other possibilities.  But Justine is extremely unclear, and there seems to be numerous interpretations to everything she does or says, so that's never good.

I don't want to get into all the sexual politics of the car wash challenge because I want to keep this show as a brainless guilty pleasure, so I'll just say it was demeaning to the women and leave it at that.

But didn't you hear?  It was EMPOWERING for the women. *eyeroll*  I'm not a prude and I try not to make judgments based on my own personal standards, but I had to laugh when they said that.  You are absolutely correct about not getting into the sexual politics and complexities, so I will leave it at that as well,

Lauren looks ten years older than everyone else on the show

She very well might could be!  She’s “29.”  I think the next oldest is 27?  And I don’t think I fully believe she is 29.....

sigh. I guess these people get picked to be on this show because they’re prone to making horrible decisions in real life. That’s the only way I can understand why these people picked each other. None of these are good matches, yet everyone seems happy 🤷‍♂️

Moira, don’t be so quick to rule out new guys. What if one comes in who wants to talk about how great puppies are? Are you really going to walk away from such stimulating conversation?

If I were there I 100% be would messing with Cely, trying to find out what’s the saddest, most depressing thing I could tell her that she’d still fake laugh at.

I didn’t vote. But I considered voting for Lauren and Tre (the least couple there) because I like them and would like it if the “power couples” squirmed a little.

I found it a little fascinating when Carrington basically told Kiersten she wasn't good enough for him on the date because she's a bartender. "If I'm living in that party scene I won't reach my goals."

I wouldn’t read it that way. I think he was referring to the lifestyle. And he said it after Kierstan herself mentioned the lifestyle was draining. I know Carrington is young and you’d think he’d be open to partying, but that lifestyle can mess people up. I’ve seen it a million times. And Kierstan bartends in Austin and regularly flies out to Vegas for bottle service or god-knows-what on weekends. I could see Carrington wanting a more stable life, and to be with someone who at least had a plan to get out of the nightlife industry. That may actually be the biggest thing holding him back, if he thinks Kierstan wants fame, parties, and the Vegas/LA lifestyle while he doesn’t really want this to become his day to day life.

PestBoy Calvin is a duuuuuud. I know Moira is rather sheltered (or maybe even tetched in the head) but if she can't read his "taking it slow" bullshit for merely wanting to stay in the game, sheesh.

I thought it was sweet that the producers set up the pelvic thrusting game such that Johnny was the one to carefully bang the injured Moira. No question that in my mind he's the best catch by far. (Granted, the pickins are slim.)

I don't know for how much longer I can look at Mackenzie's bizarro collection of outrageous plastic surgery/procedures. She looks like a Bratz doll that got popped in a microwave.

Moira and Calvin are utterly boring but I'll give her points for fairly jumping in when Mackenzie took it upon herself to unilaterally claim the love shack. Part of me "enjoys" the insanity of the Irish law firm's toxic coupling, but another part would love to see Mac's complete breakdown were she voted off by America.

This is my first season watching; could someone fill in this noob as to what Casa Amor is?

But you said Carrington doesn’t think Kierstan is good enough for him. She’s more than her job. And two people can want different lifestyles without thinking they’re better than the other person. If Kierstan wants to fly out to Vegas every weekend and work 10pm-6am every night, while Carrington wants a 9-5 job and be home every night that doesn’t mean he thinks he’s better, he just wants something different for himself.

The US version isn’t as great as the UK (original) version. But basically about halfway through the season they grab all the guys while the girls are distracted (usually send the girls on a girls trip) and take them to another “Island” nearby and introduce them to all new women while they bring in all new guys for the girls. i can’t remember how they handled it last season on the US version, but the idea with the UK version is all the couples are split up and don’t know what’s going on with their partners. Then there’s a recoupling by all the original members to see if they want to stay with their original match or recouple with someone new. And you make your choice not knowing if your partner is going to pick you. There’s usually at least one couple where one person chooses to stay and the other picks someone new. Usually pretty good. For people like Connor and Mackenzie, Connor would have to make a choice prior to talking to Mackenzie, so I think the board is hoping that would give him the courage to dump. Though now I’m not even sure that’s what he wants.

Exactly! The editing made it seem like everyone thought Moira made a terrible faux pas. I thought it was a more than a little presumptuous for Mackenzie to try to grab it for Connor and herself like that and try to cut everyone else off.

Plus, it seemed like another chapter in her campaign to get her hooks in Connor whether he's all that into her or not.

Tre needs to see a sleep specialist. Everyone snores(even if you think you don’t) but, that snore sounds like there’s something underlying it.

On Sunday if Mackenzie says “We deserve it” when it comes to the Hideaway, I’m going to Laugh! How dare Moira even entertain the possibility of anyone more deserving than Connor and Mackenzie!

Could Carrington just come out and say that he wants to be with other women already.

Well????????

I understand why one of you (Stan39?) keeps saying that Kierstan is just on the show to raise her SM profile and stay as long as possible, because Carrington keeps telling her he's NOT into her and she keeps telling the camera he's so great - but why?  Based on what?

And I guess Calvin is leading on Moira to stay on the show too?  So weird.  He looks like her kid.

I think it’s nervous and fake. The fact that she keeps telling people how calm and relaxed she is makes me think it’s all fake. And it’s been two weeks now. Even if Johnny doesn’t mind I’d think the rest of the cast would be exhausted with the constant giggling by now. You could hear it echoing at the pool when other people were trying to talk.

Mackenzie thinks if she says something out loud then it must be true. Hence, declaring Connor her boyfriend before they discussed it and trying to take the hideaway suite without letting the house vote. I really hope there’s a fun side to Mackenzie that’s not shown, because the cast would also be exhausted dealing with her. Connor has his own problems talking, but I noticed everyone else in the house talks to Mackenzie differently to everyone else. It’s like they’re all afraid of her and walk on eggshells around her.

I wouldn't know who to vote for.  Hard to get into these kids heads because I don't think ANY of them are being very forthcoming and honest about their intentions or feelings.  In every couple, there is one (maybe both) who are not happy with and/or committed to the relationship.   Head games are alive and well here!  Just my opinion, and I hope all these people find love, whether on Love Island or elsewhere.

What’s your question? Why is Kierstan into Carrington still or why I think Kierstan is on here “for the wrong reasons”? Sorry, I couldn’t tell from the sentence you wrote.

I don’t think Bug Spray Boy is into Moira (he told Caleb as much). It seems like he’s leading her on a little, in that he should have told her what he told Caleb. Whether it’s because he wants to stay on the show or because he hopes he’ll be more interested in new women is beyond me.

Meanwhile, on Instagram Kaitlynn is naked having a better connection with a slice of lemon than she ever did with any of the people on this show, so many none of this should be taken too seriously. Lol

Who I’d vote for as far as favorite to least favorite male/female (not necessarily couples)

1. Johnny/Kierstan (oddly enough she seems the most normal now that Rachel is gone)

2. Tre/Lauren (Not really a fan of either, but since they haven’t connected with anyone they also haven’t really screwed people over)

3. Carrington/Moira (She’s a bit goofy. I know a lot of people don’t like how Carrington is treating Kierstan, but my take is that most guys would probably just think Kierstan is hot, agree with everything she says to get laid, then dump her later. I actually respect that he’s not rushing into things with her until the emotional connection is there. Unless he’s just secretly gay and lying to himself)

4. Caleb/Cely (Not a fan of Caleb dumping Rachel for Justine and can’t stand Cely’s laugh)

5. Bug Spray Boy/Justine (Whatever)

6. Connor/Mackenzie (Just the worst. No way around the fact that Connor is two-faced lying to Mackenzie)

I always like men my age or younger too.  I don't think you should have to put yourself down to justify it either; just own it.  It's okay not to have Daddy issues.  Not everyone does.  When women put down liking younger men - which is often - I just roll my eyes for that reason.

You know what, you're right! I like younger men (and women) and that's fine. To me, emotional availability is the most important.

I was surprised Justine is most popular on Twitter. Discarding Tre is whatever, but I thought she was shitty to Rachel for throwing herself at Caleb without even telling her she was into him.

Carrington's convos with Lauren are basically "you're hot and I like that."

Calvin reminds me of a farmboy Robert Irwin.

Connor keeps digging himself deeper.

So...is anyone actually going to pursue Lauren or just sit around talking about how fuckable she is? Everyone wants her, but no one wants to risk their chances dumping their current partner.

Ha! You guys, PTers, I'm not cheating on you I just want to have chats with other people. Keep my options open. But we're cool right? So I went over to Reddit and Lauren's Mushrooms are a Thing (their own character in the show) they're calling Justine a Queen for just going for Caleb.  Interesting!

Unrelated to that. I asked a question last year but no one really knew (or I didn't see the answer) so i'm trying again. What do they do all day?

There are conversations that start with "have you had time to talk to X yet?" and the person says, "no.... etc." What are they doing all day that they don't have time to talk? Or is that just a structure like the girl/boy thing at re-coupling? At least for the girls, they maybe spend 2 hours on their makeup (though I really hope it's less), and I know they have producer interviews, and there are meals. But what else? Then the guys do their weights, meals, and producer interviews.

Dates don't seem very frequent. And the challenges don't either. I think last year there were more games and dates. That makes sense because staff probably has to set up the games, and thus probably have to be quarantined as well. Dates and challenges are likely more of a procedure this year.

I still just can't get past the whole 'read to you from a picture I took of something I wrote earlier' thing!! I mean... wow. Why not just have the paper in your pocket?? That's like two degrees of being uncomfortable with talking... about anything... with anyone. The hell?

I'd have said "Sure, but be aware I'll be replying to you in a series of texts you can read later."

It’s crazy. And possibly one of my favorite reality moments in the last 5 years.  That is because it seems like something my 70+ year old dad would do combined with something a 10 year old would do (like when kids use a script to sell door to door fundraiser stuff for school and they memorize it or read it and sound like robots).

I see why people hate Connor, I get it. But I also relate to “the boy” , see how he’s misunderstood but seriously wonder how he got cast. Maybe reality casting has changed in the time of Covid? But they’re usually looking for a lot of big personalities not just the hotness.

Maybe it’s a Gen Z thing? I had a twenty something roommate who would read her thoughts from a piece of paper when we had disputes, I think because she knew she got too emotional to say what she was thinking on the spot. Connor was funny because he took a picture of the page, and even after writing stuff down I didn’t think he was that clear. I guess he also needs to work on his editing skills 🤷‍♂️

Connor has been frustrating, but he’s had multiple chances to clear the air. And in the last talk with Mackenzie the one declarative statement he clearly said was that he “told Lauren he wasn’t interested in pursuing things with her” which is just a lie. I’m not sure what his end game is here, but he clearly has ulterior motives.

I actually think Connor’s exactly the type of guy they normally cast. I watch too much reality TV, and these kinds of dating shows (Bachelor in Paradise and the like) normally want highly unstable, emotional, manipulative women and very weak, beta males with no backbone. James was the exception, but most of these shows have worked out a formula for getting maximum “cattiness” out of the women. I think they’ve tried different things (going back to the Real World) and super angry, aggressive, emotionally charged men come off as scary and too real, whereas they think when women do it it’s cute and funny. The difference between a pit bull and a chihuahua barking. It’s highly manipulative and sexist, but I’ve noticed the trend on more of these shows lately. It’s why James obviously got kicked out almost immediately after his tantrum, yet here we are with Mackenzie getting chance after chance to defend herself and stay on. (If you think these shows are at least somewhat rigged, like I do)

That was hilarious. They're gently trying to tell her that she sometimes seems manipulative and even give her the benefit of the doubt about whether she's doing it intentionally or not and she immediately starts trying to manipulate them, with the tears and the "aaaalllll my life, I've never felt like I was enoooouuugh."

I think the problem with Cely's laugh isn't that it's constant or faked; it's that it's loud, with, as Jerry and George would say, "those big coarse HAAAs."

What happened to Carrington's hair? It looks like his mother snuck in and cut it for him.

Not getting enough sleep is not doing Lauren any favors. One night with Tre's snoring and she looks like she aged 20 years.

I'm not convinced that he has conscious ulterior motives. I think he just doesn't know what to say to MacKenzie in particular (maybe women in general), and feels pressure to make whatever woman he's talking to happy / not mad at him.

I almost wish money wasn't on the line because it taints whether I think these people are being real. Did Mackenzie really learn from her actions and decide to be more adult or did she just realize she needs to get America on her side? And who really likes who?

Two scenes I wish there were more similar stuff -

Johnny painting Cely's nails was actually hilarious.

And Lauren's reactions to Tre snoring the next day. Top notch.
