Dorinda is an absolute monster to TInsley because Tinsley is happy and secure, and it EATS Dorinda UP. Leah is kinda pitiful and has nothing Dorinda wants.

Similarly, Ramona gives Sonja got a pass at the party because she's broke and sloppy. Leah is younger and beautiful. Sonja could have stripped don to nothing in front of those 50 closest friends and Ramona would've laughed it off as long as Sonja looked bad doing it. BTW, it is disgusting that Sonja subjected the staff to that. They really see the hired help as beneath them. She wouldn't roll around the bed drunk and naked for a celebrity stylist...this lady clearly didn't matter.

Secure as in her wealth?  Happy?  I don't think Tinsley was ever really happy...without a man.  That's why she held onto Scott for longer than she should've.  I hope she's very happy now that they seemed to be making this permanent.  I also think Tins is someone who is insecure but appears not to be because she's been blonde, skinny and gotten attention all of her life.  I think she didn't like Tins because Tins never seemed secure enough to put Dorinda in her place and has a whiny little girl quality when she tries to fight back.

I think Dorinda likes Leah because she feels like she's her mini-me.  You know, she gets drunk, acts crazy, speaks up for herself.  She even said in a talking head that Leah reminds her of herself.

I don't get it - a day at the spa and the guests are getting hair color and highlights that can't be kept up? Or makeup they cannot afford?

Pampering would be a hot tub and a massage, imo. And a nice lunch.

I totally agree.  It would've been better for them to go shopping for clothing for interviews.  And then give them a haircut that is low maintenance.

I think we should start calling Sonja "Minnie Pearl". Do all of her (un-Sharpied) clothes still have the tags on them? We could make it into a game: Spot Sonja's Price Tag. In tonight's episode it was hanging from the back collar of the blue caftan.

Think of the women who go to the store and try on these items after Sonja has worn the, done lord knows what in them, and then returned them to the store.

I know they are going to reveal something

Spoiler

about Sonja’s meds, or a chemical imbalance, or her snake oil interacting with her placenta facials that will explain her extreme, sudden, inexplicable- - ‘cause she’s been drinking Coke and rose- - “intoxication” in this episode,

but Sonja made me wonder if someone had hypnotized her and regressed her back to age 5, alternating with moments of almost lucid (it is, after all, Sonja) aggression. It reminded me of the film “Sybil.”

Sonja’s clothing line looks really cheap. The fabrics are bargain basement rejects. But it was nice seeing Dorinda and Ramona so happy for her.

Do we know what store that was?  Because it looked like some kind of discount clothing store based on the little bit of the lettering I could see on the wall.

It was Century 21 which has a big store downtown and another in 86th Street in Brooklyn.

All of these clothes are from a Chinese website where they can be purchased at half the price. They just slapped Sonja’s label on them and shipped them out. That is why they could fill the store.

As an added bonus they were made by Uighur slave labor. Something that doesn’t seem to bother anyone.

Note to Dorinda:  I don't think that's a good thing - well, except for speaking up for herself!   Getting drunk and acting crazy isn't a good look on either of them.

It wasn't like Leah was hiding the fact she is Bipolar this wasn't some unknown thing or a secret Apparently she talked about it online   ... bringing up that she has a mental disorder and the fact that drinking with that disorder isnt a great mix was just stating the obvious ... she wasn't talking down about Leah being Bipolar she was saying MAYBE she shouldn't be mixing booze back into her life because it does have a negative effect on it ..... Which is a true statement ....Alcohol DOES effect your brain .... it is a depressant adding in that depressant with being Bipolar when you are medicated or not IS NOT a good idea ....My Mother is Bipolar I have dealt with her from being undiagnosed when I was younger till her diagnosis later in life and can tell when she is NOT taking her medication or when she is manic even over the phone .... Alcohol is NOT a good Idea with someone that has Bipolar or depression or a myriad of other mental disorders its not making fun of them or gossiping for stating that ... If she was just drinking away from these ladies NO it wouldn't be Ramona's place to say anything but shes not she is drinking to excess around these woman and because of that it now involves them....

I agree. I think Ramona mentioned it out of concern and trying to find some kind of rational explanation for Leah's behavior. I don't think her mentioning it was an effort to spread gossip and make Leah look bad (or worse), I think she was trying to understand WTF is going on with her.

She relates to having unprovoked rage?

I think Dorinda sees a lot of herself in Leah, but instead of seeing any of it as problematic, she sees those qualities as admirable because they're "real."

Leah doesn’t apologize for the awful stuff she does while drinking.  Which allows Dorinda to feel she doesn’t have to apologize for the awful stuff she says while drinking.  If Leah apologizes, then Dorinda might have to as well.

Ramona is no position to judge anyone's level of class when she throws a birthday party for herself and asks guests to donate $100 for her gift. Not to mention the way she repeatedly treats waitstaff and "helpers".  She made that pool woman curl her hair?

She's had issue with Leah from the jump, judging her harshly and ordering her around at her Hampton house BEFORE the tiki torch incident.  The ladies started dancing at Ramona's boring ass party, Leah joined in.  Nothing she did garnered any more attention grabbing than Sonja dancing on the mirror, yet Ramona singles her out?  Why?

All that said, Dorinda's in no position act as mediator or demand that they work it out.  I thought that Luann handled it best, she listened to both parties and suggested they talk it out.  She didn't take sides and didn't run back & forth telling them what the other person was saying (Sonja).

That house is GORGEOUS!  Does anyone remember the name of it?

I remember Richard Kiley singing about in 1965!

I rewatched and she actually said “Unstoppable Pussy’ which sounds like the title of a 1950’s sci fi porn movie.

Yes it was more this could answer so many questions and  the possibility of why she is reacting and acting the way she is when she gets soo drunk ... Its literately nothing new her parents went through the same thing with her and had to cut her off because of the drinking problem for years ..Leah has stated this herself on this show but tried to blame her parents for "not UNDERSTANDING" and brushed off any responsibility for her own actions ... I mean look at her moms face when they were at that lunch and she was giddy telling them she was doing cartwheels and things drunk at dinner ... her mom just had that sad look on her face like here we go again.... Regarding Sonja and her is she being a bit hypocritical? yes but so is Dorinda for telling people with obvious drinking problems dont listen to people drink all you want and dont treat leah this way but I'll treat tins and everyone else like a bully ... all of these ladies are hypocrites

Right.  I mean, Ramona knows that Leah broke sobriety.  She knows that her mom is very concerned about her breaking sobriety and she knows that Leah wants her mother's approval despite drinking.  I'm sure she's wondering if this show is the cause of her breaking sobriety.  It may be more of a motherly thing with Leah.

I don't know how Tinsley actually feels, but I meant she projected happiness and security at the end of her run when Dorinda really tore into her. Dorinda was absolutely enraged that TInsley could walk away from the show and start a life with Scott. She couldn't even LOOK at her when the news broke over dinner. Tinsley isn't my favorite person or anything, but I still think Dorinda was jealous of her. She takes a lot of shit for being whiny, but I'd take that any day over Dorinda's drunken, slurring, food-spitting, crying and snotting over everyone.

Oh there is no question she was jealous of her.  I didn't meant to suggest she wasn't.  I think Dorinda didn't like that this younger, thin blonde is loved by so many.

Every one of these women is a narcissist. They make for good television but must be exhausting to be with.  However IMO Leah doesn’t fit. She’s not fun to watch and she’s not having fun. She has problems not helped by being on this show. And bestie Dorinda will turn on her like a rabid dog if she stops drinking and starts seeing things clearly.

I agree - I was cringing watching the scenes of Sonja in Mexico.  (well, a lot of other scenes, too - but Sonja stumbling around naked and babbling to herself were really, really bad.)

If anyone out there is ever contemplating doing a reality show, watching Sonja throughout the seasons and how she has devolved and degraded herself time and time again should be a requirement prior to making that decision.

I also think, because Ramona has a long term relationship/friendship with Dorinda and Sonja, she is more able to "deal" with their drunken shennanigans, or even, knows HOW to deal with them.

Not really knowing Leah, Ramona has no idea what to do or how to deal with her.  I also think that Leah's drunken rages frighten Ramona in a way that Dorinda and Sonja don't.

Yes to this!!  So on the money.  Also, Ramona has known Sonja for 30 years and like it or not that does make a difference.  I think all the women at Ramona’s party expect nothing less than Sonja making a spectacle of herself.  Leah is new to this group and she is not going to get the same grace a decades old friendship affords.

Speaking as someone with a family member with mental issues,  it's when one thinks they're "perfectly fine" and comes off the meds that usually causes the biggest crash.  Then it can take a long time to get them back to some semblance of normalcy.  I'm not saying that I know what's best for Leah, but I do hope she's getting the help she needs so that she doesn't end up in a downward spiral.  It's a really tough thing to witness.

I agree.  I worked in an inpatient, locked psychiatric hospital.  Most of our admissions were people that felt they didn't need to take their meds anymore.  Many of them would then self-medicate with marijuana, alcohol or even street drugs such as cocaine or heroin.  These drugs enhanced their manic symptoms and made them feel "great" until they didn't.  They would spiral out of control and end up hospitalized.  After that I worked with mentally ill clients in the community.  Every one of my clients with a bipolar diagnosis was prescribed meds to control their symptoms.   I don't know anything about Leah's diagnosis except what she revealed.   Leah might benefit from at least a mood stabilizer.  This is just my opinion.

This makes so much sense.  If I had a 30 year friendship with someone, that means we’ve been through some shit.  We’ve been through good times and bad.  So if my friend starts going off the deep end I am much less likely to just write her off.  But would I want to hang out with someone I barely know acting the same exact way?  Probably not.

Why did she wear a bathing suit and cover up to dinner?

Where did Sonja think she was? Did she know she was saying those things out loud?

Why did Ramona just sit there not saying anything to Sonja about her odd, drunken behavior...naked Sonja is not a good look.  That hair person should have gotten battle pay and an Emmy for acting like Sonja was not drunk/high and naked to which after getting her hair done she put a hat on!

Kinda sorta? Bethenny was actually Leah's introductory Housewife to the show but when she decided to leave, they shunted her over to Tinsley to be the one who brings her to the first party and do the whole "Have you met my friend that I've never mentioned before and that you're now going to be full time filming with?" routine. I think Leah and Tinsley did know each other - I think Tins knows everyone - but I don't think they were friends friends.

I don't think so.  She made the effort of covering Sonja while in the room for the sake of the woman doing her hair. I think she is okay with nudity in an intimate setting like a private party of close friends, but in front of people with looser ties, not so much.  Remember how she reacted to learning about Alex's nude photos?

Didn't Ramona sit and talk with Sonja about her drinking before that happened, or am I remembering it wrong?  Seems like it went from Ramona trying to gently nudge her to watch her drinking,  to Sonja being naked.  At that point, there wasn't much that Ramona could do for her.  The crazy train left the station, so all she could do was to try and cover her up in front of the cameras.

Seems like she'd want to be on her best behavior around her new friends rather than run around throwing tiki torches and grinding her fellow castmates!  Of course Dorinda encourages her by agreeing with everything she says and does.  And seriously, Dorinda, your new role model is someone who acts like that?  Some of these HWs are getting on my last nerve!

Agree. I don't often agree with Ramona but do in this instance. Leah's display was rude, especially because Ramona had asked her not to act up at her birthday party. Leah was trying to get attention and camera time at Ramona's expense.

Dorinda and Sonja also behaved badly. If Sonja continues her behavior I fear she will hurt herself or someone else. Dancing on a glass table until it shatters? Really?

Leah is either clueless or just has a bad case of arrested development. Her behavior at Ramona's party was lewd and vulgar. I'm no prude but that was strictly Girls Gone Wild, sorority kegger stuff. For her to not own her behavior and to continue to argue that she did nothing wrong was daft. You're a grown ass woman with a young daughter...what the hell is wrong with you? Also...I grew up with a bipolar mother who went off her meds and succumbed to the mania and depression that plaqued her until her death a few years ago. How does she have her illness "under control" without medication? That's simply not possible. It may work for a short time but bipolarity is something that does not go away like a cold or a headache. Drinking is only exacerbating it...eventually she will have a manic episode that will land her in a hospital.

I agree but I think watching Sonja drink is becoming a sad and depressing spectacle. She's an alcoholic. She needs to go to rehab. Her behavior at Ramona's party was really bad. The yelling at Ramona with the personal attacks, the stomping on the glass...good god Almighty...could it get any worse? At this point she's a liablity to Bravo. Her behavior when she drinks is reckless, dangerous to her and others and worse, embarrassing to her and her daughter.

For a little while, Sonja looked so rough before and during the dinner in Mexico, that I would have sought medical attention for her.  Her face and eyes looked scary. And, I've seen some really drunk people in my life.  And, they said that she hadn't actually drank that much.  I suppose implying that she had also taken pills.  Apparently, they haven't watched the show Autopsy: The Final Hours.  It features celebrities in their final hours before death.  Quite a few of them indulge in alcohol and drugs.  It can make for a deadly cocktail.

I agree. If Tinsley were still there to bridge the gap between Leah and the others it might have been a slightly better situation.  I think Leah probably gets off on the positive reception she gets from people who dislike the other cast mates.   It's my guess she is mainly there for the attention it gives her and her brand, certainly not to develop any bonds.  It's one thing to watch the antics of the established crew and quite another to watch Leah simply act like that annoying little brat at a gathering, the one who is bored and acts out for attention. She adds as much to this group as a buzzing fly in a house.  I just feel annoyed and not entertained in the usual love to hate them way.
