It's 2016 and Darby's now hitched; as her marriage becomes distant, Darby reconnects with someone from her past who's determined to make amends for his callous behavior; Sara and Jim struggle to reconcile their paradoxical visions for the future.

Somehow it totally escaped me that if the pilot episode would bring up Linsanity, then as the show moved forward in time it would hit 2016 and the election. Blerg, that's something I didn't want to think about.

I've been watching eps 4-6 with a lot of pausing to let the cringe dissipate so honestly I can't even remember what Magnus' good points were. He was mostly red flags by the second half of his first episode and he was total trash this whole episode.

I think the show has been laying in that Sara and Jim aren't quite growing in the same way but his decision to move to Jersey and make it an ultimatum feels a bit abrupt and unearned. Even if they are just supporting characters to Darby's story.

Is it me or does John Gallagher Jr look like a younger Jason Sudeikis?

I wish the show would go there - and delve into Darby's issues. Otherwise, she just seems sad and pathetic, especially for marrying an unemployed dude that she doesn't even have halfway decent sex with and doesn't even seem to like most of the time. I'm sick of seeing this same played storyline of women who are trying to do things, seem to have good careers, and halfway decent lives marrying and dating this sad sack dudes who bring nothing to the table and can't even give them a good orgasm for goodness sakes.

Yeah she seemed very uncomfortable being alone!  I understand that's the premise of the whole show and that seems to be very realistic, serial daters who are never single.  But it's an interesting angle you bring up for sure.

Geez...I just started following this show.  Guess that is about one year late...oh well.
It would really be cool if Primetimer had just one stream for the entire show, rather than separate streams for each episode.
Oh well...

Magnus is just gross, physically and especially his personality.  I can’t believe Darby actually followed through marrying him.  Yuck.

I felt the same way.  The show kind of lost me with that although I will keep on watching as TBS plays episodes weekly.  The series is becoming more about Darby's emotional and psychological damage leftover from childhood than it is about her relationships.

What else bothered me is that she suddenly turns up married to Magnus - like we didn't get to see what happened in between that led up to her marrying him and the weak reason she gave didn't help.  That's another reason it just felt so implausible.
