Now I see why they aired these last two weddings on the same episode.   Bennett/Amelia lightened the mood, which was sorely needed as a relief from the supremely uncomfortable interaction between Henry/Christina.

Let's face it....Henry wants the hot "friend" that Brett was hitting on at the bachelor party.  He'd jump on her in a millisecond if she would give him any encouragement.  But she's not only done the second worst thing ever to do to a guy....put him in the friend zone....she's also doing the worst thing.  If you're a woman you can see it clear as day.  She knows he's got the hots for her and she's digging that adoration yet she isn't attracted to him in THAT way so she just uses him as a convenient escort (buffer), plays along and gives him a couple hugs and kisses on the cheek to keep him happy, all the while checking out other dudes.  If nothing pans out, she doesn't have to sit alone by herself at the bar and look pathetic.  He's always conveniently there.

This is going to be a LONG season.....

I don't think I'm up for another round of them all at the same honeymoon place, moving in the same apt building, together for a cooking class., couples retreat.....

but we may not see that much of them as group since COVID.

I feel bad when Henry has to watch what a pill Christina was to everyone including production before the ceremony and then to him in her THs.

Henry look at her, dammit...You May turn into a pillar of salt...but you gotta look...

Warching the toasts, it’s obvious why Henry and Brett are so dysfunctional.  Too much stupid testosterone in male members of those two families. Brett and Henry don’t fit and are awkward in figuring out how to find rapport.   I feel sorry for both.

Bennett idles high per mom. He and Amelia will be fine.  I bet he was a difficult student shen younger.  Too smart for most teachers.   Off in his own universe.

No kidding. None of them should ever have access to a mic. The only semi-funny comment in any of the speeches was Henry's goofy ass dad saying Henry will now be buying for two on his credit card.

And Bennett's mom...put a sock in it. It's amazing that Bennett turned out somewhat normal (good quirky, genuine, and nice) with her influence in his life.

Amelia’s niece, Clover calling Bennett “Uncle Ben” was very cute.
Bennett’s sister just got married and Bennett officiated...in his red and gold elephant trucker hat.

Thermoses of peanut butter....

Brett’s brothers were able to speak to Olivia without belchIng and farting...so a win.

Brett was on his best behavior...start the clock to see how long it lasts...

Woody asking to be taken under the wings of Amani’s Dad and Stepdad was touching.

Henry is a nice man but he is stressed...to the point of distraction, his facial tics got triggered.

Henry’s father toast was torturous for the groom and the rest of us.

Buy Twalet Paypa for 2 with my credit card.....

Amani’s broom stick is stuck up Christina’s butt....she does not seem pleased with her stranger spouse...
Poor Henry, his wife has no patience for him.

Enjoyed the New Orleans umbrella parades for each reception.

She had to come to "protect" her poor, dear, very very best friend Henry and make sure he didn't pick the wrong female because, of course, she cares so much about him and wants him to be happy (just not with anyone but her).  Unfortunately, the selection process was closed off, but no worries.  She never thought he'd match up with anyone anyway.  Shock of shocks...he did.  There's nothing else to do but go in determined not to like Henry's wife and not have a good time at the wedding.  That doesn't mean she couldn't get incredibly sloshed and obnoxious at the same time.  After all, new wifey puts a crimp in her routine of dragging Henry with her whenever she wants to find a guy but doesn't want to go alone.  She wants Henry to continue being her bar buddy so she can laugh uproariously at everything he says....within earshot of the cute dude at the next table...and excuse herself to go flirt outrageously at any attractive man and then slide right back in to the booth with Henry, who's continued to order (and pay for) all her drinks.

Methinks Christina has already figured this chick out.  And mark my words.....she and Christina will butt heads, and quickly.

Love Miles parents, Amani's 2 dads and Karen's beautiful mother.

Bennett is adorable and good looking under all that nerdiness. Pretty teeth, great smile, nice jawline and awesome hair (if he would bother with a style). No wonder hairy pits Amelia is smitten. Those bridesmaids. "What is your hygiene like"? WTF?

There must be more to Henry than meets the eye. There has to be when he has those cray cray drunken bitches for friends.

I don't get why Olivia and her friends keep saying how gorgeous Brett is. Not seeing it at all.

Curious to see how this show is going to remain interesting when they are in quarantine. Talk about getting on each other's nerves.....

Did Christina seriously say that she gets her ideas of what a healthy marriage is from tv and movies and she doesn't see why she can't have that too? Well for starters, because tv and movie marriages aren't real? I mean, I guess it depends on what sort of entertainment you watch, but - God.

I did love Christina's bridesmaid dresses. They were lovely. And I think she looked beautiful as well, but for the pissy expression on her face.

When she got to the altar, I feel she was open to the experience, but Henry's face was strangely magnetized toward the officiant. He could not bring himself to look at Christina and he started to twitch so bad. He didn't break the ice, he instead made it incredibly awkward and at one point I thought I even noticed Christina's eyes tearing up. Kudos to her for breaking the ice with the Taylor Swift giggle and for sneaking in a few kisses.

Henry reminds me of some guys I knew from college. Initially, they attract good looking women because they are fairly nice looking themselves. However, they get friend zoned because they are total duds in the personality department. Sometimes the pretty girls keep them around for convenience. They pretend they care about the guy and want to protect him from the claws of other women but they just want to keep him at their beck and call. These girls end up treating these guys like eunuchs yet block them from having healthy relationships with other women.

That said, Henry appeared to want to sink in the floor when he saw his bride at the alter. He actually appeared to be getting shorter. She seemed just as unimpressed with him.

As a socially awkward introvert, I have a soft spot for Henry - especially having to do it all on camera.  I do like him and  hope he is able to open up and relax more with Christina once the cameras are gone. The second they emphasized Christina's negative side with the pre-ceremony TH and the nonsense about missing earrings, I've been wondering who she pissed off in production, and am now giving her the benefit of a very big doubt.

I have family members very similar to Henry in that they are extremely socially awkward, have a hard time looking people in the eye, and have difficulty forming relationships outside family, especially intimate relationships, but they are on the spectrum.

Anyway...

Best moments of the episode for me:

  1. Brett's face when Olivia revealed she loves Lil Wayne and had been to a concert (Heeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! I think I love Olivia.)
  2. Amani's straight-faced question: "So do you know your wife?"
  3. Woody bonding with his new dads
  4. Realizing that Amelia probably had a crush on Bennett when she met him. 🥰

Worst moments of the episode for me:

  1. Henry's father
  2. Drunk Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather hovering with their wands (champagne glasses), ready to whisk Prince Henry away from Evil Christina to a safe cottage in the woods
  3. The raw egg "tradition"
  4. Realizing that all this time I was worried for Henry, but it was really Christina who may be in for a world of hurt.

There have been some issues with this site this morning, so I hope this posts.

About last night. . .

I think Amelia and Bennett are going to be fine. I just can't stand watching Amelia with her mouth gaping all the time. She still seems like she has to "work for the quirk" because it is a role she wants to play. Bennett is the real deal, and after seeing his mother, how else would he have turned out?

When Christina said that all of her expectations about relationships are from movies I knew it was over for them. It was really sad that Henry couldn't even have looked at her during the wedding and if there is going to be any physical intimacy, she is going to have to be the driver. I don't think she has the patience for him and when she blurted out about her earrings while he was talking, I wanted him to call her on it, but he got the message and he knows who she is. Once they are quarantined, I don't hold out any hope at all for these two. Henry does seem like a nice man, but I would not want to marry into that family. Sorry, Henry's dad. You were not funny. And for Christina to even say that she has no idea what her husband's name was is very telling. If you hear nothing else at your wedding, you should hear your spouse's name!

I am not sure why Henry has that girl squad, but they were horrible. I never saw that show Trischelle was on, but she and the brunette were total bitches and I hope Henry dumps them.

Olivia was so happy that she and Brett had Taco Bell in common, she seemed to miss the comment that he does not do fast food and he kind made a face at it. She forced him into picking one and it happened to be her favorite. She remains hopeful, but I hope she is realistic and not going to look like a fool when all the signs have been there. I can't watch Unfilitered because I just can't stand that Jamie, but I was interested that they showed the clip of Brett being a jerk at the bachelor party to Olivia. I wonder how that show continues during the quarantine.

I do like Miles, and I really hope that Karen relaxes and gives him a real chance. She is gorgeous and her wedding dress was one of the prettiest I have seen. On the other hand, I hope that Miles does not become a doormat trying to earn her affection and that there is a mutual attraction and respect between them.

I still can't be sure about Amani and Woody. Her words indicate that she is happy and attracted, but her face still reads unsure and skeptical. She may just have that very dry sense about her, much like Deonna did and that worked out for them. I liked that Woody bonded with his new dads and I hope he stays as the good guy he appears to be now - as opposed to the comic player he seemed to start out being.

We gotta stop with this Disney Princess Crap ladies. Christina’s relationship maturity level was shocking. She was just there for the wedding. To be a “princess”. To have her “day”. No thought to what comes after and even admitted she bases relationships after what she sees in movies. Hon... no. Just no. Treat yo’self Christina! Be a princess everyday! You don’t need “one” special day to shine! So over the Bridezilla/wedding porn fad. Henry is either intimidated by her or has zero interest. The saddest part was I think Christina genuinely believed this was a legit wedding and not a mockery of marriage made for our TV viewing pleasure.

Henry and...  CHristina (?)  Yawn.  I think I dozed off every time these two were on screen.

As to last weeks' couples - they all seem ok, but I think Brett is ging to be a major, major problem.   He may even unseat Puke, Sean, and Matt for worst MAFS husband in history.

Can you blame her? She may not be getting the best edit but she was coupled with (at least to this point) perhaps the worst casting decision in this show's history. Hell, if it wasn't for his name appearing on the screen (and lots of comments here), I wouldn't remember his name. He is the kind of person that needs to have a permanent name tag attached to his chest.

He certainly shouldn't have received the moniker "the Reserved Gentleman". Reserved, yes. Gentleman, no. If he was a true "gentleman" (by the way, I personally hate that term), he would have made an effort to make Christina feel comfortable. I don't blame her one bit for crapping on him with earring comment. Good for her. He was being a complete ass. A better moniker would be "The Deceptive Gentleman"...and deceptive can go a couple ways.

I'm going to give Henry some wiggle room to redeem himself since he may have been in shock from the cameras in his face, the chaos of being the center of attention of the wedding guests...he may have just shut down and his brain was in panic mode all evening...

Christina in her own way was just as nervous so she focused on herself...she asked Henry if he thought she looked pretty, she spoke over him when he was trying to speak to her, she looked out to her mother for solace, she appeared indifferent to Henry sitting next to her.

Christina gets second chances to show us why she was chosen by production to marry Henry...other than she has a pulse...

They are a striking couple.

I want to like Amelia and Bennett but between the pit hair, the veiled trio, and the gaping maw of death it’s hard. Okay maybe it just Amelia I’m struggling with. I agree with the poster who said these aren’t my people. I don’t mind some odd and quirky but I feel like this is quirky overload. Like going to the fair and eating cotton candy, a funnel cake and a snow cone and then having a sugar stomach ache. Way too much all at once. And the ice cream, freezer, cherries and banana sex discussion was ridiculous and went on for far too long.

I want to say poor Henry but good grief gravy why is this guy on this show?!? He is painfully uncomfortable and can’t even make minimal chit chat. Not that I think his bride is a prize. If she thinks marriage is going to be like a romantic movie she is going to be so disappointed. I wonder if Henry thought doing this show might wake up whichever one of his honey bees he has buzzing around him that he desires and they’d suddenly realize he’s more than “just a friend”. Ain’t going to happen dude.

I hope Woody is the guy who showed up at the wedding and not the player that was in the pre-wedding shows. I loved how easily the dad and stepdad got along. What a nice change to see compared to many situations. Maybe they can be a force of good in Woody’s life. He sounds like he would really like to have an older man’s influence in his life.

Who else? Oh yeah Brett, who thinks he is sexy and smooth but is not quite last call level of yuck but it’s getting late and the bar is emptying out. I think Olivia is going to lose her optimism sooner rather than later. I am holding hope for Miles because he seems so genuine and nice but I can’t tell if his bride is into him or just appreciates a good foot rub.

First impressions...

Amelia and Bennet

Two things any couple needs to survive marriage. A sense of humor and being able to roll with the punches and they have shown those characteristics. I suspect Amelia is one of those woman who looks better in jeans and a nice top with less make up and no bird on her head than dolled up in a wedding dress. Win, lose or draw they both had fun at their wedding which is more than we can say for some...

Amani and Woody

I'm not sure either of these two are who they are under normal circumstances when the rush and adrenaline wear off. First impressions are important and so far they like each other.

Olivia and Brett

Didn't find this couple very intriguing you'd think couples married strangers every day.

Christina and Henry

Jessica and Austin of last season were very awkward when they first met but in a cute kind of way. They were alleviating each others jitters and that's what nice people do. For Christina to say to the camera man she doesn't recall her new husbands name was (even if true) about as despicable as you can be and reveals her character in stunning detail. Reasonably the viewers demand you marry at first sight and accept your spouse as is where is. Its like someone agreeing to stand before an audience and take off all their clothes and they they refusing to do it to a chorus of boos. I can't think of any couples who stumbled this poorly out of the gate and end up righting the ship. On mere appearances they look like a good couple but Henry is a wet mop personality wise. Its hard to understand how he didn't come better prepared with things to talk about or questions to ask. We may not see the real Henry until a few episodes...

Karen and Miles

The age disparity with the man being younger is always a cause for concern. They both seem very nice though. Time will tell.

Christina's self-involved but if anyone can handle the tacky coven hovering around wimpy Henry, she can.

On one hand I felt bad for Henry being so nervous, but then he didn't protect his new bride from that nasty bunch of hanger-on bitches he thinks are "friends", & I hate that shit so he pissed me off there.

Henry looked mortified every time his father opened his mouth. Dad was kind of sweet but doesn't know what's appropriate & when to stop.

I don't think Henry was at all happy about his tall bride, & seemed checked out. Christina didn't step out of her own atmosphere she lives in to notice, yet.

I hope Woody is for real. I don't blame Amani if she hangs back a bit. He's a major flirt & she should try to determine whether he's serious, or not.

It seems Karen is warming up to Miles, hopefully.

My MAFS conspiracy theory this season: Amelia & Bennett were already a couple & are doing the show for a free wedding, honeymoon, temporary living arrangements until her residency starts, whatever paycheck they offer, & exposure for actor Bennett (& his mom by default 🙄). Oh, also, the show is in on it because it's an easy "success story" = win-win for all involved.  😉

So glad there are other couples because those two are some serious "quirky" overload.

I've already said it & will probably be saying it a lot this season - poor Olivia.
