Interesting look, Whoopie.

At the end of the show, Whoopie acted shocked that her hair looked so crazy!  She said it looked like a Pineapple on her head & wondered why nobody told her it looked so crazy....which made me wonder, who did her hair today?

Mary is making Meghan look foolish.

I noticed that Joy & Sunny got two more rounds of questions with Mary after Meghan's failed gotcha questions and Meghan got zero.  I wonder if a) MM used up all her questions by talking too long, b) MM bailed because she couldn't handle Mary, or c) MM's MyProducers decided to spare her more humiliation and told Whoopi not to call on her.

I'm just assuming. I can't find a due date online, and we can't see the size of her belly due to the fact that they're on Zoom sitting down.

I read somewhere Megan is due in September.

Thank you! I was yelling that at the screen.

Without knowing what books were written about Meghan's father,

I was curious about this, so I looked on Amazon, but I got sidetracked when I came across a children's picture book that Meghan wrote in 2008 called (surprise, surprise) My Dad, John McCain (it looks like it's out of print).

There's a screen shot of 3 of the book's 32 pages; they contain 21 sentences.  Eight of those sentences contain the phrase "my dad" or "my father".  Those pages are about her father's early years.  She could have told the exact same story, using the same title, without saying "my father" in every other sentence.  But even when she's writing what's essentially a biography about her father, Meghan has to make every single page about herself, too.

Speaking of books, I just read that Mary Trump's publisher announced today that they have ordered a 17th printing of her book.

It's like the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon except more annoying and entitled

Can we all play?   I found it fascinating yesterday when she was so incensed about how Congressman Yoho treated AOC.  I wondered why Meghan seemed to be taking it so personally, especially since she usually characterizes Ocasio-Cortez as a dangerous socialist, not to mention the supposed leader of the Democratic Party.  But then I realized that this struck a nerve with her because when people call Meghan a bitch she likes to think that it's because she's strong and not afraid to express her opinion.  So -

-- Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called a bitch --> strong woman --> influential --> disrespected --> Meghan disrespected

If you're correct, this is the best news I've heard all week!

I predict she will be back on the show w/in 48 hours of delivery.  She is, of course, the only conservative voice on daytime.  The only one, people.

Yes. I think Mary Trump is a person who’s just not naturally comfortable in front of a camera.

I thought too that perhaps the multi-person interview thing just doesn't work that well with a guest who's not used to being on camera a lot.  We know how badly it works when it's just the 4 of them, then add in the 5th person guest.  The ones that people have said were good interviews all took place with just her and the interviewer/host.  And MM was just horrendous today--she always betrays herself (i.e. she says she's not a trump fan) when she talks to people about him.  The apologist always comes out and I'm not sure she even realizes that she's doing that.

It's a hard knock life being a beautiful, blonde heiress in America who has to share views a huge portion of the country has. She's such a martyr.

still trying to figure out - Meghan McCain accuses Mary Trump (who had a doctorate in psychology) of "cashing in" on her famous  relative.

Meanwhile - what is YOUR claim to fame, Meghan?  What qualifications did YOU bring to the table to get your job?

Some "kind" employers give three days if one loses a child.  A CHILD!  Then I guess it's "Back to work, Missy."

I could see Meghan taking a week or two from the show (I know her dad passed about a week before the new season started), but six weeks ?  This wasn't a 'sudden death', it was long expected and long planned. I would think she would want to get on with her life and return to work. I think the longer you take off, the harder it is to re-adjust (but maybe I'm the odd one out) ?

My wonderful dad, who suffered from dementia the past year,  died at 88 in early June from COVID, while in a nursing home (we hadn't seen him since early March).  My employer gave me three bereavement days, which is pretty standard in my industry (college / university).  My sister's a nurse, and she got three days, also.  Again, standard in her industry (hospital).  I did take an extra two days as 'family sick' - the day before he passed, and the day he did pass, plus my two 'days off'  - for a total of seven days. My sister did, as well.  I think for both of us,  seven days seemed sufficient - it was time to get 'back to work' to resume our new normality. (Same thing when my mom passed away unexpectedly 23 years ago).

That Sara lady at the end of the show was a bit too excited about whatever deals she was talking about.  She started getting crazy eyes!

This is even worse than 'View Your Deal' rip-offs.  The idiotic promotions she was pushing 'just for The View' are the standard promotions those vendors flood your email with each day.  For example, there was a promotion for 'Bed, Bath and Beyond'.  What was it ? Their usual '20% OFF' coupon, which I get every damn day in my email.

Speaking of which - the woman who was pushing her small business with the handbags that had the see-through pocket on the side, for your cell-phone. It looks rather awkward to maneuver your handbag 'just right' to tap on the keys through that acrylic covering to use the phone, while holding the bag on it's side with your other arm. I mean, how hard is it to remove the phone from the pocket and use it like everyone's been doing since iPhones came out over a decade ago ?  If she's the designer of those bags, she certainly didn't think the practicality or functionality out fully -  it fails both tests.  I say this not as a consumer (I'm a guy, so I don't use a handbag), but as a vendor for 24 yrs who sold handbags, and other accessories in my business. Though something may 'appear' to be easier and more convenient (like this gimmick she's pushing) at least 75% of the time, I found it's not. And sure enough - the products had a very short life in stores (but not in my store - I would pass!).

Questions like "what would you do?" and "what do you think?" come out of the Zero-Preparation Moderator's handbook.

In 13 years (4748 days) MeAgain will still be counting the days since her father died.

We really should buy a modified version of this sign to hang behind Meghan to remind us all daily how long her father's been dead.

1.  Did Meghan even READ the book?

2.  Just like the White House "comment," that the book is full of lies...especially about the racial insults.  The book apparently didn't cover that topic at all.  I left the audiobook in my car (which I rarely use)...need to get it.  NOW!

3.  Can Meghan give us the names and approximate ages of all of her cousins...just your first cousins, Meghan.

I have read the book. One factor in non-closeness of cousins besides the age difference was the matter of divorce and children being raised by former wives.

I saw Whoopi's expression and it looked pained, but I wasn't sure if that was because it was confirmed that Fedida said racist things or because Fedida got fired.  I noticed that Joy & Sunny didn't say anything after that, which makes me wonder if they thought Whoopi was going to say something cringey about her pals like Fedida (& Bill Cosby) having to pay for their behaviours.

As Whoopi would say, "you never know what you know 'til you know"  (I don't know what that means either).

I thought Whoopie just had gas because 1).  apparently she usually does, 2). she mentioned her stomach was bothering her, and 3). her hair looked like something literally blew out of  the top of her head.

About the AOC and Yoho thing, Kevin McCarthy accepted his apology. How generous of him.

Meg, AOC is more powerful than Pelosi?  Maybe only in the minds of Reps. And she resorts to the old song 1) dismissing a criticism of someone in her tribe and 2) making it about herself.

After her monologue about powerful woman being bullied she immediately tries to bully Joy.

Now to see how rude Meg will be to Amy McGrath.

I actually liked Meghan's question about out of state money. Amy's question didn't come across well, because it seemed like her response was just "Well Mitch does it too." Which isn't a proper answer.

It's just like her non answer to Sunny's question about Breonna Taylor.

(Sigh.)   No, no, no, Meghan.  AOC is not "arguably more powerful than Nancy Pelosi".  Nor is she "one of the most powerful women in America".  Maybe they talk about her like she is over on Fox News, but that doesn't make it true in the real world.  Yes, she's already famous, which is unusual for a member of Congress in their first term.  But actual power?  Not yet, except for her ability to drive Republicans crazy, apparently.

Meghan - "No one is 'otherizing' her because they're afraid of her.  They're 'otherizing; her because she just is that powerful".  Okay, so the definition of otherize, according to Google is "view or treat (a person or group of people) as intrinsically different from and alien to oneself".  Is otherizing even the word Meghan meant to use?  Because if it is, it makes no sense.  Making the assumption that Meghan is saying Republicans are the ones doing the otherizing, they think AOC is powerful, but they're not afraid of her.  So what's the problem?  Yeah, that doesn't make any sense, either.

Meghan, I've got news for you.  You're not "strong", "tough", or "impactful".  Or "effective", either.

In her little spat with Joy, it seemed to serve Meghan's purposes for her to assume that Trump is in the exact same position in the 2020 election that he was four years ago, but even she's admitted not that long ago that he could be in trouble.

Uh...how does the closeness of the Democratic primary make the general election "difficult" for McGrath?

Fact check - Since I'm in Texas, that $100 million figure Meghan gave as the amount Beto raised for his Senate race sounded wrong to me, so I checked.  He raised $80 million.  But I guess to Meghan that extra $20 million is just incidental pocket change.

I know she said something, but Whoopi went to commercial so she really didn't have a chance to reply.  That must be the new direction from the producer-- if Meghan and Joy start to get into it, go to commercial.

She said something like “Just like you’re always right, Meghan.” I think.

Meghan has been a rude host every single day this week. She’s just awful lately, not that she just started being awful. She’s ramped up her snappiness, WPM that she speaks and scowl face factor.

I laughed out loud when she said that, partly because it proved the point Sunny had just made. People like McCain put a bull's-eye on AOC and "The Squad" (regardless of what I personally think of them), tried to insinuate they represent the whole party, and now act surprised when uncivil behavior and/or outright violence is aimed at them. She's said this nonsense about AOC being more powerful than Pelosi before, and I was glad Sunny called out the dangerous rhetoric of irresponsible media heads like McCain even if she didn't call her out by name.

Also loved Joy mocking McCain's delusion that she's been right about everything. Remember Doug Jones in Alabama or Krysten Synema in Arizona?

Hey Megan,

As a member of a “military family” you should know that you address a Lt. Colonel as “Colonel”.

And, while I’m here, you have been incredibly rude and dismissive to so many people. If you want to be a respected political “analyst” then you need to treat people with respect. Until you do that you will continue to be a buffoon.
