I think all the showrunners going back to Kripke said they would never bring Jesus into the show.

I remember reading that Jensen and Jared were asked about their feelings about religion being brought into the show and they both said that they wouldn't feel comfortable if they went so far as to include Jesus into the story.

I think it's an old article she'd reposted but she says she's planning to update it in part 2 to bring it up to the present season.
