I have been scolded repeatedly but the last I will say on this is that there is a difference between someone curvy like Libby and Tania or someone obese.  Many men are not attracted to obesity, just as many women are not.  We can stick our heads in the sand about it, debate whether it’s right or wrong, or just acknowledge it.  I’m done on this topic.

Unless we are going to hear new never before seen details regarding Coltees relationship with Larissa I don’t think we need to go there with Larissa warning Jess.

think Tania thinks it's "cute" that Syngin carries her and that it will make people like them.  Although I preferred Syngin in their original season, my opinion has changed.  He's devastated that she can't work, AND he's more knowledgeable about arthritis than her doctor (my arthritis was diagnosed when I was 24)...quite the catch.  And, he showed the bar owner exactly who he is by his non-stop off-topic talking and his drinking at the bar after his interview.  Yes, the bar owner offered Syngin the beer he poured, but Syngin added the shot afterwards (and I loved the look on the bar owner's face when he drank the shot) and then drank some more.  It sounded like his resume also contained a lot of jobs (short-term employment) as Syngin mentioned going from bartender back to mining.  Resumes can give great insight into the long-term employment potential of job seekers.

I think that was so ridiculous, she is weeks into the break and has on a walking cast.  The other storyline is his supposed drinking, there was more risk for a potential fall doing that......I can’t stand these two.  There are too many unlikeable people on this cringeworthy season.

Quick recap, we met Pole many seasons ago when he was preparing like 15 foot lockers to go to meet Karine.  Mother Pole was meek and offered him a clump of hair pulled from her brush for him to take with him.  As we progress, she tells him not to get married, she tells him not to get pregnant, she tells him to work hard (he does not listen).  He returns to the US to make money, lives with his parents, get's fired from a job literally shoveling shit.  She's over it.  Oh, and Pole has a criminal past including arson and insurance fraud, a pathological fear of everything (he wouldn't swim in the Amazon without wearing a condom and a special penis sack to protect him from the incredibly rare candiru fish), and the greatest run ever caught on film.

OMG i still think about that episode of Paul going into the 💩 water with the penis protector and the hip waders.....to me it was the most hilarious scene ever on the show.

You're right.  We Floridiots don't really get the concept of snow.  All we see are the pretty pictures and holiday shows.  I remember working in the legal field years ago and I had out of state cases.  I got all frustrated because they cancelled hearings due to a snowstorm.  I couldn't understand why people couldn't drive in "a little snow."  Some of my coworkers shook their heads and explained my ignorance.  Now that I know better, I think I would stick to a nice fall wedding -- Florida fall that is.

To me, Florida Fall is just 2nd summer.

Not sure if this has Lready been said, but I felt so bad for Karine and the freak out Pole had about the baby in the car seat. She probably didn’t realize she’s breaking the law, I very much doubt car seats are a thing where she lives. On the drive to the airport, wasn’t here mom just holding onto the baby? If you don’t know, you don’t know. I’m sure Paul’s mom knew that the baby should stay in the car seat, but allowing pol to go crazy is even worse. You can’t just calmly say hey, in the US the baby has to stay in the car seat, instead of having a crazy melt down?

I have to scratch my head at comments about Asuelu being chauvinistic/arrogant/misogynistic because of his comments like this. The guy comes from a primitive culture where, from what we've seen, people live simply and have few material possessions- and likely little exposure to modern society.

He's been here long enough to know doctors are not just "boys" which is why I had to wonder if it was producer driven.

I posted about this before too because I knew I recalled her Mum holding the baby on the way to the airport.  After I posted I quickly looked it up and yes like most places, Brazil does have carseat laws too so she should be aware.

When folks like Karinne and Akinyi say their expectations of the United States are based on movies, I’m always curious what movies they’ve watched. I don’t watch many movies anymore other than documentaries so I’m actually genuinely curious what they’re watching and how the U.S. is represented.

It's probably touted like LA, where the Hollywood movies are made. Gorgeous people, amazing settings, etc. Then you come here, and for many of these people they are in the poverty areas that aren't tons better than where they are from. Recall Paul trying to advertise the tap water! Many places in the US look just like those in 3rd world countries, because of all the inequities. I don't  think people's visions of the US are about tap water. Paul really thinks that getting water from a tap is going to solve homesickness. Or hopes it will. That and his broken shitty car. He and his family are truly disgusting. And he's the one worried about germs! Get over yourself, you live in a petri dish. Like Brazil is so much dirtier than your standards. Paul seemed perfectly comfortable there.

It's interesting that the poor men in the US think that potable tap water is a lure for rural ladies in poor countries. Larissa would be on to that shit in a split second. Paul offers motel tap water. Coltee offers Larissa... well, nothing. That's probably why she left. Coltee may be a nice guy, but I think he might be a porn addict and trying to live out some fantasy. He's delusional. Unless he gets into porn, he ain't going to live the porn lifestyle. Jess should be as still as possible, IMO. Anything else is just giving the poor guy false hopes. But Jess said she needs a Visa. So she is putting it out there that she is using him. Coltee probably thinks his sex (or eyes) are just that great. He has some confidence that I don't get. Is his dick huge? If so, I'd think he'd be way more masculine. He's so feminine and insecure, I wonder if his penis is super tiny.

Ansuelu took Kalani's virginity, so she's not going anywhere. Like people said, she's obese and her body issues alone probably keep her with Ansuelu who needs her family to support him. I see her using Ansuelu for kids and then divorcing him later.  Personally, I think she just wanted children. I also think she wants a husband, but I don't see her being able to Ansuelu, who is a handful. She tries to reason with him, but really, he needs to be taken into a room and scolded and told what to do. He needs discipline. Maybe that's why her dad is stepping up.

Ha, nice work finding a lady doctor in Samoa 👍

I'm not sure it's ever been actually said by her or anyone, but I think she must have received a work authorization while her case is pending with Immigration. The hearing for her Adjustment of Status was three or four weeks after Colt filed for divorce, which was the day after she went live with Yates and said he was a pedophile who she caught watching kiddie porn, resulting in the fight that got her arrested the third time. According to her, the immigration attorney told her she would be denied her Status Adjustment because Colt filed for divorce and her criminal actions and she could be immediately held by ICE, so only Colt appeared at that hearing. Her attorney filed a Petition for a Waiver to allow her to adjust her status without being married to the person who petitioned for the visa, but I have no idea the status of that filing, if there has been a hearing or the result. Because it takes so long to work through the courts, petitioners can request work permits while the case is pending and I think Larissa did and received one, because she started doing the clickbait articles and working for this show.

If she has been or is ordered deported, she still has rights to appeal, so we can expect her to be in the US for years. Hence why permission to work is granted.

Regarding the measles outbreak in Samoa, I decided to look into it. According to Wikipedia:

Quote

In August 2019, an infected passenger on one of the more than 8,000 annual flights between New Zealand and Samoa probably brought the disease from Auckland to Upolu. A full outbreak began in October 2019 and continued for the next four months. As of 22 December, there were 79 deaths (0.4 per 1,000, based on a population of 200,874, a rate of 14.3 deaths per 1000 infected) and 5,520 cases (2.75% of the population) of measles in Samoa. 61 out of the first 70 deaths were aged four and under and all but seven were aged under 15.

At least 20% of babies aged six to 11 months have contracted measles and one in 150 babies have died.

As of 20 December, 94% of the population had been vaccinated. 95% is required to acquire herd immunity for measles.

Samoa, Tonga, and Fiji have all declared states of emergency to tackle their 2019 measles outbreaks. The high mortality rate in Samoa is attributed to the country's low vaccination rate (31%). In Tonga and Fiji, the lack of fatalities is explained by the far higher vaccination rates.

The page is pretty thorough and includes statistics that I think may be too political to copy and paste, so I just took a bit to support my comment.

I know that the show would pay for the trip and that it's likely they can't really afford it otherwise, not to mention the family members getting paid a few bucks can mean something, too, but if Kalani folds on this trip, in light of how serious that outbreak was, I don't think I'll ever come around to liking her. I dislike Asuelo for insisting already.

I mean of course there is the famous Point Dume and Paradise Cove mobile home parks in Malibu where a mobile home can set you back literally millions of dollars but the general issue is mobile homes are typically depreciating assets, difficult to maintain and ironically difficult to move and most people do not own the underlying land which makes for a huge mess in a lot of situations.

If you own the underlying land and can afford the upkeep, mobile homes are not the worst idea, the problem is many mobile homes end up basically immovable, in disrepair on leased land which just creates a circling drain of poverty and poor conditions.

Before I got to your reply, I was gonna mention the Paradise Cove park. My old college roomie (definitely not a millionaire) lives there, so I've spent more time in that mobile home park than any other. Now, it's almost normal in my brain to see quarter-million dollar Italian supercars parked next to double-wides. Just messed up my whole concept of "trailer trash". That park's recent residents also include at least one screenwriter and one director, each with over billion dollars in box-office on their resumes.

*sigh* Remember when we could go watch movies in an actual theater?

It's sort of funny that Asuelo didn't know women could be doctors,  but of course disturbing, mostly imo because he's been in the US ?over a year? now, and he hasn't been exposed to much American culture.  Even if he watched a couple of hours of TV, he'd learn things like the fact of female physicians, as well as other things he apparently doesn't know, like fathers caring for their children and the need mothers have of getting a break now and then.  Why has he been (apparently) so sheltered from US culture?  I realize that if he spends all his free time with other guys from Samoa, he's not going to be sitting in front of the tube or reading--even looking at the pictures in--magazines, but surely in the evenings he and Kalani sit together and watch a little TV or at least talk about what is going on in this country.  Is Kalani completely apolitical?  Does she have no opinion about Brad and Angelina?  Someone or something is sheltering this guy from things he ought to have absorbed by now.

I didn't have to be Christened again, as the priest explained that it didn't matter what denomination baptizes you, it's a one time event.

Yup.  Per the Nicene Creed (an early--fourth century--statement of what it means to be a Christian):

We believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Larissa WAS pretty, before she did all that shit to her face.

Tania is just disgusting.  I had surgery on my foot in 2015,  I could not stand on my foot for one month, I had a cast from my foot to my knee.  I had a knee walker, sort of like a scooter.  I had a shower chair.  I live alone and I was able to show all by myself, to cook all by myself.

Why do some family members in other countries think that those of us who live in America have lots of money?! Asuelu's sister demanding that he send money reminds me of a family member I had to cut off. I understand it's hard, but don't demand that someone send you money they've worked to earn. Now I see why Kalani is hesitant to help his family out.Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with helping your family members out who are struggling more than you are. I loved Kilani shutting down Asuelu's misogyny.  Not only can we women work outside of the household, we can be doctors Asuelu.

Syngin you'll quickly learn this, as you become acclimated to America.  Less is more, telling people your entire story provides ammunition to those who only wish to hurt you. I learned that the hard way, hopefully he doesn't.

Larissa the quickest way to scare a man off is exposing ALL of your dirty laundry on the first date.  Her date seems like a nice man, who is looking to settle down.

Colt will have difficulty having a substantial relationship with any woman who knows her worth.  No self respecting woman will put up with him  still being attached to Debbie by the umbilical cord.

Paul is the definition of unstable.  He needs intense therapy before he could be a good husband and father.  Running in traffic shows that he doesn't have any critical thinking skills or a good concept of danger.
