I kept wondering about the choice to name the other main character "22" rather than some other number. I'm not sure if I've ever read Catch 22 in its entirety, but maybe there's a reference? Like how 22 kept having to go through the same things over and over again without making progress, until...?

Finally saw this tonight. It's a rewatcher that's for sure. Acting and animation were brilliant but the deep message of the movie is what sold me.

As for the ending, I got it. I liked it and yet I loved that they just showed him walking out the door.

Appreciating life is something too few of us do. In the past two weeks, I've known about 28 people in my church get COVID. One of them died. He was 28 and married only three years and they just bought a house. So, all the life/death stuff hit home for me and it all reminded me that regrets and questions about life's progress can rob you of the moment....and love..especially love.

I hope Joe called Lisa. Life's too short to live without love.
