Did anyone correct her? Because if not there is no excuse for that.

Yes, they all did.  She said Jill Biden would make a good Surgeon General and either Joy or Sunny said she’d make a good Secretary of Education.

Black votes matter and last night it was proven without a doubt. I hope the party remembers this going forward.

Elizabeth Warren will be fine and I am sure she has a plan.  A brilliant woman like her will go places and you don't have to be President to affect change.

Megan's nastiness knows no bounds. Must she always take a shot at Ilhan Omar? First it was AOC and now it is her. I bet you if Ilhan is ever on the show, she would not try to mess with her. AOC was there and she knew not try it with her, she is a coward.

You could tell Sunny was thinking, "How can I put this?".  She tried her best to be tactful, and said, "I...think...she might be a teacher.  But maybe...she'd be good in Betsy DeVos' job".

And this is when I turned the show off.  Because now she is going to act all indignant and pissed off.

It's interesting that a comedian, of all people, can't laugh at herself when she makes such a ridiculous mistake.  The fact that she got defensive, and the others didn't immediately say, "She's not that kind of a doctor", makes me think that this kind of thing happens more often than just what we see on the show.

I so agree!  And it speaks volumes to the kind of person that Whoopi is.  Are there many people left who still think she is as great as she thinks she is?  Joining this show has not been so great for her because it has exposed her to be the complete opposite of the person I thought she was before joining.  And is it Disney as a whole who loves and values her or was it strictly Bob Iger?  Because she might want to start reading a newspaper or 2 or at least plug in and pay attention to things at least now that Bob is no longer the man in charge.

Her facial expression made me giggle.  She might not have had a meltdown but I think she took it personally. I mean  she takes everything else personally, why not something that applies to her, lol.

I enjoyed the show today. Joy's comment about Helen Gurley Brown made me spit coffee out.

I haven't watched in a while but I'm glad I tuned today.

Yeah, at first I groaned at her stale reference to someone most of the audience wouldn’t know, but the punchline was worth it.

Is pretty sure I won't get the show again today because it is all corona virus at the moment.

I like reading comments from the people who have watched.

Whoopi didn't just say that Dr. Jill Biden should be the Surgeon General.   She added, "She's a hell of a doctor!".   I think she even said that twice.   The look on Jonathan Carl's face was priceless.  He was stunned.  And Sunny shuffling through her cards, trying to come up with something to save face for WG was uncomfortable.   I cannot believe that she didn't know that Jill is not a medical doctor, but has a doctorate degree (in education, I'm assuming).   And adding that comment about Jill being a helluva doctor showed how blatantly ill-informed Whoopi is and basically makes stuff up, which is rather inexcusable for someone who leads the table on the supposed hottest political show on TV.

She has said several times just that.  I'm sure someone can find clips of her saying that.

Whoopie should know that Dr. Jill Biden is an educator not a physician.  Jill was on the show how many times.  Whoopie to me is having a lot of senior moments.  I would think one of the producers would have told her that in her earpiece Jill is an educator.

This is my first comment I have been reading the forum for more than 2 years and love it.

Welcome!  In my later post where I said this kind of thing might be happening backstage as well, I didn't come out and say it, but I also was thinking it might be due to memory issues, mainly because of her defensive reaction after she had to correct herself.

Another thing WG said that was confusing:   They were discussing how presidential candidates should all have Secret Service protection (after Biden getting rushed last night) and Whoopi concurred, saying, "We don't want anything happening on our watch".   What the hell does that mean, 'happening on our watch'?   What am I missing?

I think it is pride on her part, Whoopie thinks she knows everything when she knows very little. Remember her embarrassing rants about the mechanics of insurance and not one person on the panel ever tried to correct her..

Yes.   I don't recall all the details of that discussion, but I do remember thinking she had no idea how insurance works.   Premiums, coverage, co-pays, deductibles.   Nothing.

I missed this - Meghan always says "The Squad" is what the Democratic Psrty is, and that socialism is right around the corner.  So she doesn't think this any more?  I wonder if last night changed her mind?

I think all of Whoopi's awards have gone to her head.   Instead of just accepting them for what they are  -  peer recognition for work done in the entertainment industry  -  she mistakenly thinks they've bestowed some kind of all-knowing, all-seeing intelligence onto her.   I'm sure she's innately smart, but she's not well-read or informed, and doesn't seem to have any interest in becoming so.   On a positive note, I think she's so cute and has hardly aged a day (I just rewatched Ghost and she looks exactly the same), and she has the most engaging smile.   I just wish she wasn't so cranky.

I had assumed she just meant "in our time" kind of thing.  I was remembering just the other day when Bobby Kennedy was killed while seeking the nomination back in '68.  People talk about where they were when President Kennedy was assasinated but for me it's Robert Kennedy.  I was just old enough to understand what had happened and couldn't believe it.

I think shes a ferocious reader but she has to use audibles because her sight is so bad.  May i be so bold as to suggest a certain panel member makes her cranky?  It sure does me.  Another thought too:  she was saying she was extremely frustrated.  It might have been showing.

I a few thoughts

1.  What if it was pertaining to a personal security team and that you wouldnt want to be the one to drop the ball on one's watch. Another thing is the someone who steps in to save the day and says 'not on my watch'

2.  Yes, a Kennedy-esque type scenario.

OK Thats it i guess

Jason Biggs' new show looks like a definite hard pass - yet another lame network sitcom, complete with a bloody LAUGH TRACK. I despise laugh tracks!! They need to be banished back to the 50s where they belong. We need a cue to tell us when we should be laughing?!!! They're beyond stupid.

Joy needs some time off, IMHO. She is showing her stress...a lot! I hope she improves once November is over.....depending on the outcome.

I'll tell you what...I'm newly retired.  While working i had a strong memory, almost photogenic.  From the moment i left for the final time, that next day i couldnt remember anything!. And its only gotten worse.  I think im going to be tested.  I get the defensive reaction too.  (Hmm are you my twin sister hehe)  my family asks me constantly, well what do you all day?  And all diff variations of that.  Makes me get very defensive.

Hmmm one other thing about it, serious now. There was a gal who worked in our dept who started making silly mistakes, forgetting things, getting dizzy.  Our boss told her to get checked, something was wrg, blood not getting up there or something.  Thank goodness she followed thru and did it.  Turns out had 3 major blockages.  Which this was the last call.  She had ignored her health all these years and now this was dire next up was a big heartattack.  Good news, surgery went well, out for 2 mos, back better than ever.

I just watched Whoopi and her Jill Biden blunder. She made it worse by saying she was one hell of a doctor. It's one thing to not know she had a PHD doctorate but Whoopi was acting like she really knew she was a physician.  I literally cringed even though I already had read about it here.  Her ignorance is becoming painful to watch.

Yes she rocked those, but she missed the point of the sanitizer.  When you empty the shelves to sell later on ebay with a 500% markup.  What i saw was an asking price of $200!!!!  Yes the first is supply and demand, but the second is def price  gouging!, and is illegal.

Here's my Whoopi rant for the day.  Quit talking to America like they are actually going to listen to you!  There she goes, admonishing protesters who charge the stage at political events.  I am sure they are sitting at home watching the View and hear her lecture, and say to themselves, you know what, I am not going to charge the stage at the next political event, because Whoopi just made a good point.

I know, right? Omar also represents one district in Minnesota and Klobuchar, as a senator, represents the entire state. It doesn't make sense to compare their ability to "deliver" all of Minnesota to their preferred candidates, so why is Meghan making a bid deal about it? You know the poem "The Road Not Taken"? It's as if at every juncture Meghan chooses to take the Asshole Road. She could have just kept it relevant, but no.

I'm gonna take my ass to the Asshole Road, gonna ride till I can't no more...

I guess I’m in the minority but I’ve always liked Jason Biggs.  I spent some time with him when he was around 13.  He was in Seattle in a Herb Gardner play called “conversations with my father” with Judd Hirsch and Tony Shalhoub.  He ( and most of the Seattle rep cast) eventually went to broadway with it.  my son was the understudy for his role and that of the other kid actor(Who was replaced for the broadway run).  The other kid was obnoxious to my kid, and others, but Jason was really ice and sweet and welcoming to my kid.  So I have a soft spot for him.

In everyone else's defense, Whoopi does not react well to being corrected. Ask Paula, Rosie Perez, and Rosie O'Donnell. Sunny was smarter than they were and learned not to go against Whoopi in the slightest way if she wanted to keep her job.

I never like to pass up an opportunity to call out Whoopi on her gaffes, but you all have done a great job covering it.

Sooooo.....I'll call out Joy. Two days in a row she has bashed a woman's looks, which is so against the culture of women supporting women. Yesterday, it was Laura Ingraham and today it was Helen Gurley Brown. Shame on Joy. And I don't buy the "I'm a comedienne" excuse.

I hope she digs into her souvenirs and wears her McCain t-shirt that she wore on the show.  She will start out starting all statements  “ as a mother” to MM’s “ as a conservative ”  then they can compare flag artwork and constitution placemats. Megahorn would gladly give up her Conservative seat to  her.  She thinks she assigns seats there? Humph.

I am still rolling my eyes about the fact MeeAgain thinks she’s REALLY good at talking politics.

I sign on to this.  It was funny,  about HGB, but it is completely trashing a person's looks.  And then you cannot really take the high road and call out Chris Matthews for (in his mind) complimenting LI and then subsequently trashing her.

She is a wonder, Joy is.  And I am generally a Joy fan, but she says some stupid shit.

Of course, not as stupid as Whoopi.  Or MeAgain.

This is not the first time Joy has said something about a person's looks. i understand she dislikes Laura Ingraham (as do I) but there is so much more to criticize LI about than her looks.   And the joke she made about Helen Gurley Brown I think was just a reflex.  But I still cringed when she said it.  Just because a joke is there doesn't mean you have to say it.
