There is something about Lisa's voice that really bothers me. I think it is the clipped way she has of speaking. 

I think that she is really enamored by the fact he is a "celebrity." The way she was saying that she doesn't want his entourage around them. His "hundreds" of fans. It's hilarious to me. 

I really can't get over how these older women are duped into thinking these young Nigerian men love them and want nothing more than to be married to them.  The fact that both Lisa and Angela are a certain type of American woman make me think that there is a specific sucker profile in the Nigerian Yahoo Boy Handbook.

I just want to defend her for a sec.  Her kids are little and she's 32.  The tats definitely could pre-date the children.  That said, I have no clue what it says.

I love my kids and they're my life now, but I DID have a life before them. My biggest tattoo cost $75 in Prague. I was 21 when I got it. At that time in my life if I hadn't spent the $75 on my tat then I'd have spent It on something else.

These women know the truth, which is that these men are "interested" in them for financial stability and a green card.  

But if they admit to it, they can't play victim when it turns out the guy doesn't "love them unconditionally"

There is a very specific reason someone like Lisa goes to a poor country for a attractive young man, and that is so she can control him.  Even a man her age would reject her demands.   

She said she has been cheated on before ....and the one way to ensure that doesn't happen, in her mind, is to pick someone she can control.  I guess condomless sex is just the icing on the cake, but she knows that the way she will keep him is through money and a green card.

I can't with Ed's decor choices. I understand that he's a photographer but my dude, you have shots of random women in their ginch (or bikinis), doing a typical Maxim magazine pose. And you have them taped to the walls of your bedroom. That's not interior decoration, that's a spank bank wall.

To the posters who have made the excellent point that Baby Lisa would benefit greatly from a nice hairstyle, clothes that fit, a skin treatment or two...Big Edd could also use a What Not to Wear session. Can you imagine how much better he would look with clothes that fit, a haircut, beard trim or shave? The mind boggles.

Also, in the airport he had black leggings on under his shorts? Maybe they were lederhosen?

Young athletic guys wear leggings, although usually for working out.  You see baseball players in them at spring training.  I haven’t gotten used to it yet.  And Ed doesn’t fit that profile lol.

I just thought that was really odd. No way that lady gets on a plane to "London airport," (who doesn't know that's Heathrow? Oh, right - a Nigerian Yahoo boy, which is what "Williams" is) and tries to meet a ghost.

If he does marry her in Nigeria, I can see it not being a legal marriage.  He'll get to the US and disappear, but not before taking her for every penny she has.  

And she's no prize.  How can she really believe that a Nigerian rap "star" could really love an woman he has never met and who is almost double his age (and looks it).  It's not like she's JLo who has the body and face of a much younger woman.

 

As for Big Ed... he's lucky he's travelling with a camera crew.  Did you see his face when they talked about the sanitary conditions and he's talking about 1000 thread count sheets?

I saw a recent headline that said a crew member for a show had been found shot and killed.  I can't find the story, but these situations....foreign and domestic can be scary.   It may have been someone scouting locations for Narcos: Mexico.....

I was never more scared for a camera crew than during Ben's scenes when you could see that they were in a remote area and it seemed like the entire town was just loitering near the house. 

Akyinis family already seemed scammy, she was acting super weird, the plans were always changing at the last minute, and they were so outnumbered.  And it was dark too.  

But I'm convinced that the presense of the camera crew is want saved Jenny from being assaulted since she decided that it was okay to go traipsing about at night after being told how dangerous it was. I remember the footage from that scene and thinking that there were only a few women on the streets and all but one of them was accompanied by a man.
