I think his mother overcompensated in raising him...perhaps feeling it was something she did during her pregnancy that caused his defects.  He learned to take advantage of everyone...without a conscience.

Until all the dirt about him started being revealed and he began really showing his ass on the show, Ed came off as rather goofy and endearing.  He could have played the cute misfit card had his personality not gotten in the way.

I know, can you even imagine being his daughter and seeing what a scumbag your father is? I agree about the grandmother.  Although Ed now claims that his daughter is the most important person in his life, etc., he probably never had a meaningful relationship with her.  He was married to the mother for about two years, before he cheated on her.  He often cried how he hasn't had a relationship for 28 years.  The daughter is 29 years old.  I doubt that Ed was around much, but I could see his mother valuing a relationship with her only grandchild.  

He didn't pretend to raise the daughter, even when he told Rose that he wasn't ready to be a father.  It didn't look like any of her childhood photos decorated his walls.

He squeezed out a few tears for the TLC camera crew, but I don't think I buy that they were particularly close.  Ed's biggest life goal is to sell himself as a "nice guy" and a "good guy"

He says he hasn't been in a relationship for 28 years because of his daughter.  I don't believe that either. 

I think he couldn't find another young, pretty girl who would settle down with him in the US and that's why he wasn't in a "relationship" 

But, I think he has used plenty of escorts and has maybe, maybe manipulated his way into sleeping with a few of his models.  He doesn't consider these "relationships". 

But for the sake of being a "good guy" and a "nice guy" he passes this off as 28 years of celibacy.

I'd bet there is more to the story to Ed's selfless story of raising his daughter.  He makes it sound like it was full time and consumed his life.  But was it?  Did it?

It kind of did, hence my reply, but it’s cool. You’re right, he is a broken person, but he is also a human piece of shit with zero compassion for others, and he is a narcissist. That little ‘oops, my bad, tee hee’ act he puts on every time he gets caught out is gross and totally transparent. I'm avoiding work... so I went on Ed's insta and checked out his website. First of all, he is a horrible photographer. He's not good with framing or with light. I wouldn't pay him a dime for his amateurish work. 

Second, as other people said, he's def trying to become famous. He wants to make "Big Ed" a thing. I remember the first episode of 90 Days, thinking he was a quirky guy and had personality to spare and he made the most of his disability. He should have bowed out of the show right there because the more we got to know him, the more despicable he became. He's a horrid human being and I hope his 15 minutes ends VERY soon! 

Based on what I've heard about the tell-all, I'm going to despise him even more come Monday. So glad Rose ditched him.

We were talking about Betty Broderick in another thread and I said the story is fascinating in that everyone sucks so you don't have to root for anyone. 

I was reminded of this when I watched Ed and David go at each other.  Two unlikeable people, so I don't care who "wins" because they are both losers.

I felt really bad for her, especially since Ed OUTED her on national TV which had nothing to do with him. He didn't want to talk about the crap he did on the episodes. He was deflecting again by bringing up Rose dating immediately after she left his ass without saying good-bye (boo hoo). He came home, dreading telling his family about the trip because he is a failure. He even said he hoped Rose would talk to him again. That's why I believe he was the one that reached out to her first.

Rose doesn't verbally express her feelings well in English. When you're upset and people are speaking to you in another language, you are afraid of bieng misunderstood. But Ed's MO is to keep pushing and talking over you. When he wanted to know about Prince's father, did he need to push her that hard, where out of frustration she told him something about her past that she didn't want to talk about? And as soon as he heard what he wanted, he was quieter and kept saying he 100% trusted and believed her. During the Tell-All, he was holding up his damn screenshots to prove whatever he was lying about and then he outed her. It's too much. She looked traumatized to me. 

I'm not saying she's an angel. I think the majority of us know this was a transactional relationship--they both would get something they wanted. He crossed the line too many times.
