This is amazing. Oh! How I wish someone like Ana or Cenk would be invited on The View. Someone to call out Whoopi to her face. Of course, she would just get louder and louder because that's the only way she knows how to "debate". I can't think of a time anyone called her out, apart from when Joan Rivers told her off for supporting Mel Gibson.

Cenk: At the risk of offending the very, very, very sensitive Whoopi Goldberg...
Ana: Too late!

That would never happen because Whoopie would lose her mind.. It would be fun to see Ana and Cenk challenge her. Paula knew how to trigger Whoopie without breaking a sweat and she took pleasure in doing that..

Is anyone really surprised that McCain hinted about running for office some day ?  I have a feeling she will do something in another five years - maybe when she's 40, and she will ride her daddy's coat tails and hope for a win.

Most importantly - notice how none of the cohosts bothered to pick up on this, or question this further ? They burst her test balloon.

I was extremely surprised about Joy just brushing off all of the problems with Bloomberg and pitting "racist against racist." It made absolutely no sense when compared to, I don't know, anything that she's ever said. Ever. So bizarre and really disappointing.

Came back to see if anyone mentioned Whoopi using the word photogenic memory  instead of photographic memory when talking about the black person of the day.  She was used  as a spy during the civil war.  I bet that’s an interesting story.  More interesting than all this yakyak blahblahblah about the dem nomination. Anyone can see what’s coming down the track waaay beyond the tunnel.               🚞🚃🚃🚃🚃

All, I know it's more tempting to stray into political topics when there are political guests on the show, but it's still against the forums rules to discuss any political topics except to talk about how the hosts talked about them.

What this means, to be very, very clear, is that just because the hosts mention Bloomberg, that doesn't give you license to talk about Bloomberg generally, or to give your opinion on him. You can say "I can't believe Whoopi was so positive about Bloomberg" but you canNOT say "I can't believe Whoopi was so positive about Bloomberg, when everyone knows he's a big meanie pants who passed bad laws". That's out of bounds.

I'm surprised Whoopi didn't mention the passing of actresses Ja'ner Dubois (Willona from GOOD TIMES) and Tony-winning actress Zoe Caldwell earlier this week. She always pays respects to celebrities who have passed - especially notable ones.

Dubois was considered a barrier breaker on GT in the mid-70s as a single, black female living in the projects who adopted a young girl (Janet Jackson, no less). I thought for sure Goldberg or Suny would have paid tribute to her character and acknowledge her passing.

And Caldwell, like Whoopi, is a Tony winner - a very well respected B'way actress who earned four Tonys in her distinguished career. I'm positive Joy has mentioned her and her work through the years (and she may have been a guest on the show, too).

Again, surprised no one ever said anything about these two deaths from earlier this week.

They are all annoying me lately. This is going to be a long election season.

Joy is definitely giving Bloomberg a pass, which is disappointing. I think she is so troubled by the prospect of a Trump re-election, that she is willing to support anyone who can take him down. She is also annoyed by how Democrats (i.e. Warren) are willing to drag other candidates when the target should be Trump. This is why she sees Biden as the best candidate, because there is a certain benevolence about him that the others are missing. However, she doesn't seem to be able to articulate her points in an effective manner as well as before. I'm a bit concerned about that.

Whoopi rarely makes sense and she takes up valuable discussion time. She went off on a senseless rant today for a few minutes to end up saying that the candidates failed to talk about the issues (which would have taken 10 seconds). I do agree with her about that, though. She could have brought up Buttigieg's criticism of Klobuchar for not knowing the name of the Mexican president. It was like the battle of the nerds.

Sunny is also getting annoying as she only seems to be willing to discuss one topic. I also  don't understand why she is so surprised that many Blacks support Bloomberg. Being from NYC, she should know that many Blacks in NYC are concerned about the significant increase in crime under the watch of the current mayor. Sunny also came across a bit hypocritical when she attacked Senator Klobuchar about the black man she prosecuted in MN. I remember very well when Sunny boasted about being a tough prosecutor who convicted people with just the testimony of the victim (and no other evidence). I wonder how many of these convictions were of black men?

And of course, Meghan seems to be enjoying all the infighting within the democrat party. Today, she came to Warren's defense because she is on a mission end Bloomberg's bid for presidency. However, if Warren becomes the nominee, I am sure she will go in attack mode and call her a socialist.

Sigh, I get what many of you are saying - especially of the rehashes. (is that a word?)

But I blame MM because she seemingly, imo, to be controling hot topics. Hey, let's not upset Meggie. And let's get uninteresting b and C listers on more, especially on a given day.

And sell, sell, sell.

Oh - and tell us what we are going to see, what is coming up, rah rah for the show, who will be on tomorrow - and sell, sell, sell.

Personally I like several hot topics over the first half hour without so many commercials (for so long).

This might be a political year but it is boring to me with the repetiveness of their opinions.

I remember Sunny once explaining how Black voters (especially older ones) are pragmatic voters, who are more willing to support someone who they believe will win. That might explain their support of Bloomberg. I don't like her overall generalizations of the black community, though.

What Whoopi is trying to say is that Bloomberg can't buy the election. He can spend all the money he wants. It is still up to the people to either vote for him or not. He didn't pay the people of New York to vote him mayor. They decided that.

The debate isn't the first time people have seen him outside of New York. He has been visiting cities and meeting people in the South. His ads run multiple times a day where I live and I live in a red state. The only other candidate who has run an ad here is Bernie.

I wonder when the Nathan Fillion interview was taped, because they were talking about spoilers from Birds of Prey, which has been out for over a week now.

So this completely confused me when they were talking about it because we have seen Birds of Prey, and we love NF, and could not figure out how he was in the movie and we missed it.  Well, according to IMDB he is in the next Suicide Squad!  Not in Birds of Prey, but I was pretty sure that is what I heard as well.  😕

So, I rewatched it, and MeAgain intros it mentioning Birds of Prey and Nathan says his role is in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie.  I just heard the Birds of Prey part, and was confused.

I thought they were talking about a future sequel to BoP not the one in theaters?

Whoopi said MSNBC should be taken to task for Bloomberg being on the debate stage.  Canadian here, so I really don't know, but I thought this was the DNC who made the decision, no?

Correct.  As usual Whoopi doesn't know what she's talking about.

I changed the channel when Gaetz came on but read this review.  It sounds like he breezed in thinking he was going to be the smartest person in the room.  Jerk.  I'm sure conservative media spun it differently though.

I also didn't watch that segment. And from what I have read I made the right choice. What an absolute tool. Why was even invited on the show?  Even Meghan wouldn't be on his side.

I’ve been shocked by how she’s dismissing racism. Joy’s never been okay with racism before. For me it’s not political so I hope that’s okay to say. Racism is unacceptable.

While Joy hasn’t been on her game, I got what she meant with that statement actually. Bloomberg and Trump have similarities when it comes to race and women, so if we were to watch the two of them debate, hopefully they’d stick to debating policy.

I also heard Whoopi say photogenic and not photographic. I thought she’d correct herself, but she didn’t. I’m sure she’s got to know the difference.

The good brotha Dr. Michael Eric Dyson is on today, I may tolerate watching the show in its entirety just to see if Meghan says something stupid and he has to school her. Tbh everyone on the panel has been getting on my nerves so I haven’t really been tuning in this week.

Already disagree with our beloved Ana that Obama should’ve done more about the Russians interfering with our elections. It’d be off-topic to discuss why though so I’ll leave it at that.

Okay, I know Meghan doesn't stay this quiet around male guests (especially politicians), but this is the second male guest host in a row where she's acted like a normal person with manners.  I really hope the producers catch on, and consider having more male co-hosts.

Meg is awfully quiet today. In both segments so far Joy had to ask her if she had anything to say.  (Just let her sit there quietly, Joy!)

I guess this was prerecorded. No mention of the big news item from yesterday.

Funny, because this is the thought I had this morning. I assumed the only reason there was a guest was because McCain would actually control herself a little bit.

Personally, I hate having guest co-hosts, especially ones that aren't really made for talkshows like Alec Baldwin. Everyone spends the whole show holding back and allowing the guest to eat up most of the airtime. I did like what Dyson said about participation trophies in regards to the South losing the Civil War. That really made me laugh.

Ana had the best question during the interview, asking Hill why she resigned instead of staying on and bearing through the controversy. You know that had to piss McCain off, because she had just tried to insinuate (as she has on this show about the topic before) that Hill was some kind of sexual predator who abused her power over a subordinate. Ana was also right that it's possible it's not just one or the other in regards to BernieBros and Russian bots, that it can be a combination of both things at once.

I wonder why that is. With all her talk about the Bernie bros and their treatment of women, maybe there’s some misogyny in Meghan. I’ve known women like her who are very short and rude to other women but sweet and polite to men.

I have nothing to base this on other than my own theory. I think women have Meghan's number and she knows she can't get away with too much.  Also for all her talk about being tough and blah blah blah I think she has major daddy issues and will always seek male approval.

When she called the guest co-host “Mr. Dyson” today, I noticed it immediately and had the same train of thought. While she does refer to politicians as “Senator” or “congressman”, I’ve noticed the deference much more with male co-hosts and/or guests.

Based on her continual self-professed admiration for Tulsi Gabbard, I suspect MM will vote for her in November.

Whoopi being pissed at MSNBC makes no sense.  At the very beginning of the debate, Lester Holt specifically told the candidates to engage one another. Had she (or anyone else who works on the show) watched during the first 10 mins, maybe that would’ve been remembered and/or made it into the talking points?

It goes back to the whole “this is why they need to read, research and prep for their jobs” issue.

I would have to watch it again, but here is what I gleaned.  Something was said about it maybe be Russian bots who are trolling people as Bernie supporters.  But apparently some Election official or someone announced that is not the case (thus contradicting what Sanders suggested in the debate).  So MeAgain stated that.  Then Ana said it could be both bots and bros (heh heh), and MeAgain could be heard in the background saying that is not what was announced.

Another day another Bernie bash. It's getting annoying at this point.

Ever since Joy has been promoting Bloomberg and Whoopi and Sunny have joined in, I've found myself switching to the Real more and more often. I use to think Meghan was the only one out of touch, but it seems like all of them are like that too.

Joy can sometimes be tone-deaf with her comments. When Hill was talking about her marital issues and the affair joy asked the stupid question of “which one? The ménage a troi?” While hill knew she was coming on the show to openly discuss this topic, it seemed a little insensitive of joy to insert her little remark along with a smirk when the conversation was clearly not meant to be light hearted. Joy has done this before like months back when she was in an argument with MM about something and had to mention how MM (couldn’t/doesn’t, I don’t remember the exact word) have a baby. This is after we learned MM had a miscarriage. As much as i don’t like MM I thought that was just plain mean as well. Some things just aren’t funny Joy.

My cringe moment was when they were discussing Al Pacino and his much younger, now former girlfriend, since Ana and her husband have an almost 25 year age difference.  Part of that is also on the producers, since Joy very likely didn't choose it as a hot topic.

Like what more do they want Bernie to do? They don't like that he wasn't being an  angry old man while condemning 'bernie bros.'  I don't even think Bernie riding around the US in a blimp condemning 'bernie bros' would satisfy them. They started with the topic with trump/russia and ended with Bernie Sanders not doing enough. I don't follow everything Bernie says so maybe Ana was using hyperbole or maybe I misunderstood but she said Bernie commented why can trump get away with it but not him-did that happen?

They could have taped it earlier in the morning.  Trump's rally, where he talked about Parasite and GWTW, happened last night, so it couldn't have been done yesterday unless they had a late night taping for some reason.
