possibilities February 7, 2020 Share February 7, 2020 First time Luca showed any vulnerability, but he didn't show it to Zoey. Link to comment
UNOSEZ February 7, 2020 Share February 7, 2020 Doggy Simmons' Doug is such a blessing for this show.. As a brooklynite myself his portrayal of an NYC kid is really authentic.. I can hear myself saying damn near everything he does.. and he adds a level head to the zanier characters... He worked real well with Luca tonight 8 Link to comment
Guest February 9, 2020 Share February 9, 2020 I thought Luca's actor did a good job of portraying that anxiety and confusion and actually showed emotion instead of his usual coasting but then they had to ruin it with forced love triangle BS...damn Luca, two girls in four days? New girl will not be happy to find out about Zoe either. I don't really care about that triangle because I'm way more into my own conspiracy theory that Luca was Nomi's one night stand, lol. I don't get how either Zoe or Luca found a group of such loving, supportive friends when they're both so self-absorbed and pretentious, but hey, at least the supporting cast gets to openly make fun of how terrible they are. I love Aaron. Link to comment

He worked real well with Luca tonight Doug is the most relatable character on this show IMO. $200k in student loans??!! Holy frak! Perfect example of researching and understanding the true cost of college. 1 Link to comment
fredfreddy44 February 9, 2020 Share February 9, 2020 $200K in debt? That is insane! That confirms that this school is a private school. I always figured it was a fictional school in either the UC or CSU. But since UC schools are about $35K/year and CSU schools are about $25K/year right now (including everything), I'd say it has to be a private school based on his debt and his mumbling about other loans he got. How does one have no clue until the semester before graduation what one owes at the end? I'm glad my son is at a CSU school. 2 Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo February 9, 2020 Author Share February 9, 2020 (edited) I am old so I don't know the exact process for financial aid these days, but I know that I had to sign something EVERY semester/quarter that stated how much my loans were and that I was releasing the funds to pay my tuition. I also got a statement every term that showed my total fees, my grants, and my loans. Student loan companies are predatory, but Aaron not knowing how much he would owe upon graduation is all on him. It seems absurd that Aaron owes $200K for 4 years, especially since he was an RA for two or three years. Being an RA means you get free housing and an on campus meal plan which is a good chunk of annual expenses. Please let this episode mean that Zoey and Luca are done as a couple FOREVER. They were terrible together. I had to roll my eyes when Luca told Doug that he put himself out there. Yes, "Yo" is such a declaration of feelings. We got all of that with my daughter's school and she just graduated in 2018 Link to comment
tennisgurl February 9, 2020 Share February 9, 2020 (edited) I hope that this is the final nail in the coffin for Luca/Zoe as a couple, I am just so over their drama. They didnt even seem to particularly like each other when they were together, so I cant see their break up as anything but for the best. Luca was actually more likable than usual this episode at least, and showed some vulnerability, but they just do not work together. Damn Aaron! I thought that, as an RA, he would be doing at least a little bit better pn the student debt front! I love Doug, he even makes me like Luca a bit, his likability just rubs off on anyone he shares a scene with! Edited February 9, 2020 by tennisgurl 2 Link to comment
sleepysuzy February 10, 2020 Share February 10, 2020 I'd love to see Zoe single for at least a semester, with plots focused on anything but dating/sex/relationships for her. I know lots of people who made it through all four years of college without dating or hooking up with anyone, myself included. We were too busy with actual classes and jobs. Just a glimpse of that side of college life would be nice. 5 Link to comment

Exactly! Dougie is the best character on the show. Zoey is still an an unaware idiot. I predict - pregnant by Luca............. 1 Link to comment
