Clearly Kevin is his own biggest fan - he's just incredulous that Kate doesn't see what a great chef he is.  He's been at her all season about her quality as a Chief Stew, blamed her for all his errors (like a fucking child who can't take blame), stirred up shit at every turn with everyone, and drank to excess at every opportunity - how many times has he had to be carried to the boat and to his bed?  He is a complete asshole.  Simone, if Kate's only lesson for you was how to be self reliant - well, that's something you should have come to the job with.  Hate all the brus.

Brian seems like he's managing drunk behavior but thinks that drunk behavior should not be held against the drunk.  This is actually one of the bigger problems with the guys on this crew,  They act like what happens when they are drunk doesn't matter and that the women are unreasonable, or worse, for having an issue with it.

I found the season overall disappointing.  It was too much boys v. girls, and it felt a lot like the fun got sucked out of the show.

Put a bunch of people that are so sick of each other that they want to go to their separate corners and pretend like its a party.

Seems like some combination of the women decided to be woo girls just to make it seem like this was a good party.

I guess they figured they would get more drama if they dropped them on a private island where they couldn't decide to go back to the boat on their own.

It was the talking heads, but I think if Kate gave her motivation.  She couldn't have predicted that Kevin would pick an extra awkward time to bring out the penis cake, but I think there were certainly ways she could have mitigated things and chose not to do so.  Again, I don't say that because I like Kevin, only to say that I think Kate was trying to mess with him.

I agree.  It seemed to me that Kate's prank was to have Kevin spend a lot of time on a cake the primary requested and wasn't there to fawn over.  Had he known that the primary wasn't there, he would have just decided whether he should still make the cake or do a less time consuming desert.  I don't think Kate or Kevin would have anticipated the reaction.

I don’t think Kate anticipated her revenge to be Kevin presenting the cake to a table without the bachelorette, it just presented itself as an opportunity when Jamelle went to bed. I assume the cake wasn’t made while dinner was being served, therefore Kevin would have had to make it regardless. It wasn’t Kate’s fault he “wasted time”...it was already made before Jamelle decided to go to bed. 
 

I used to work with someone like him...everything was a personal attack. There was no such thing as an accident, it was all a coordinated effort to make her fail. Kevin is just like that.

I may be the only person here that dislikes the way Kate behaved this season. (and has never really been the Saint.) She was after Kevin all season because she took offense early on when there WAS an issue with service in the AM.  I'm not condoning the sand kick at all, but she is supposed to be a Leader, and she was the least mature of them all. The minute something did not go her way, it was ON.  (notice, we could have watched a lovefest if Kevin had just said she was a great Chief Stew...but since he gave his honest opinion, she started in on his food. Rinse and repeat each season...

She is at such low risk of getting called out by the boss (and I do like the Cap...) and she knows it.

Kate actually complimented Simone multiple times this season when she actually did a good job like she has done with all the stews including Rocky, Caroline, and what’s her name from last year when they weren’t getting along.

If we’re going to project speculation on NYers, I’m going to say that NYers aren’t waiting around for a gold star when it hasn’t been earned and they prefer actually learning by doing the work instead of complaining and they wouldn’t  jump every time a douche like Tanner told them to. So, really, I think Kate and NY will do just fine. 

ETA: Especially because living here involves a tougher skin and experience and knowing that a job is a job, a boss is a boss, you get what you bring to it and maybe if Simone had brought something besides expectations of others, she would’ve learned something. Fake compliments and niceties are the least of things, really, but I can see why that would be “vile” to someone likeSimone.

I thought the “prank” part of it was that she told him to set it in front of Captain Lee who than stated he wasn’t going to eat it. Kate wasn’t out there when the conversation “got deep”, quotes because it wasn’t that deep. Particularly on this episode you see that the guests didn’t really have a problem with it and actually enjoyed the cake that he had already made when they ate it. Was he going to serve at breakfast when it Jemelle was up? Kevin choosing to be crazy upset about it was on him. 

I really need Kevin to explain how he thinks Kate has checked out because it seems to come up when he decides something without her or changes something after they have talked that he bitches about it but none of the guests have complained about the service and he checks in and out of what he expects from her. She has also praised him to guests and multiple times cheerleadered  him.

Brian seems to want to dictate how women should react which shows why he is also a problematic asshat like all the others.

i totally think that if Tanner had booty texted Simone after Kate had rejected him she would have responded.

Courtney was my favorite this season and Brian's abs were my second, so it was kind of cool to have the former lead the latter into one of the guest rooms to spend the last night together with seemingly no strings attached.

 

It is my sincere hope that the footage from this year follows Ashton around for every job he ever applies for...he should never be put in any position of authority or power over others. He has clearly shown that he cannot handle it.

This is what I am so excited about at the reunion because even before the season fully aired they did not like each other on SM. She also never confirmed they had sex but even if they did the fact that he immediately told Ashton (and Tanner) time and time again that he also shared their business.

Nope...I'm right there with you.  Her leadership skills are severely lacking.  Yeah I know the guys were pretty immature and insulting but this is not the first charter that she's been on constant bitch mode.  She likes to criticize others but can't take it when anything is said towards her.  Honestly, I think it's time she moves on to something else.

Everyone was too exhausted and depressed to bring the drama at the moon party. Same with the goodbyes. This season was horrible and just kind of limped to a finish.

Interesting that Kate flipped off the camera crew as she sashayed into a guest room after the moon party. If Kate leaves the series, I'll wonder if she jumped or was pushed.

Moving to NYC from Florida is a very big change, especially financially. I assume she has something big lined up.

I did wonder how he was going to explain his behavior to his family.  I mean, for all his talk about his daughter, I'm trying to imagine what she might think seeing her drunken father parading naked around the crew level of the ship.

And at end he said he was going to go on a vacation with his daughter. I think he may have even said to the beach cause I said, out loud, so he can kick sand in her face. 

Those power rankings or whatever they're called...I'd switch out Tanner with Kevin. I think Asston was #1 dickhead and Kevin was #2. Those 2 were aggressively violent.
