I had to track down that rumor also but could not bring myself to watch. The descriptions were bad enough. I did stumble across an extremely rude and nasty 600-lb FB discussion group which I may or may not have promptly joined. 

i wonder if the TLC production team will start vetting more closely?! Sheesh. 

ALSO! I forgot I had taken a pic off my TV of JT with his lymphedema on full display (FOR A FRIEND!) and it’s still on my phone. Today my little 5-year-old grandson was swiping through my pix and he screeched to a halt and his little face got the oddest expression. Then he tentatively asked, “What happened to his leg?” and turned the phone to me. And did I gently and compassionately explain? Only after I burst into hysterical embarrassed laughter, which only added to the child’s perplexity. 

I need my Grandma card revoked.

It was on pornhub, her screen name is Miss GG.   The arm is apparently her sister's arm  inserting something in her usually blurred region (on M600PL).      There were a lot of videos too.     The videos have been taken down at her request.  

The videos have all been taken down, apparently at her request, and anyone who missed it was lucky.       

The dancing video someone posted from June 2019 is bad enough, because it shows everything she portrayed on the show is a lie (I almost said a 'huge' lie).   

You know they were getting famous when Starcasm posted an article about the videos existing, and I'm betting a lot of other gossip sites have that information now too.

She wiped all of her social media clean -- her YT channel is gone, her Instagram is gone, and now her porns are gone, too. I guess TLC wants to keep up the impression that what we were shown wasn't a 100% fictional narrative. 

Also, there is no way a patient is prepped for surgery only to be told five minutes beforehand they weigh too much. No hospital is going to foot the bill for that. She would have been weighed a day or two before -- in the doctor's office. 

I love this show but its fakery has become tiresome.

Exactly! She would have required pre-admission testing (bloodwork, chest X-ray, EKG, etc) and the VERY first thing they do is weigh you. Especially when the surgery was contingent on her weighing less than certain amount. I still say that IV was just taped to her arm and the entire scene was staged. After all, now we know Gina is an actress!

This isn't the first time a Poundticipant was involved in feeder porn, squashing (don't ask), or other things.   However, to my knowledge, it's the first regular porn performer.      I believe even stronger now that everything but Dr. Now's part was a lie, and she only wanted the publicity.  

I agree, that is why I think we (and he) got played. TLC needs to do a better job with people on this show. This is disgusting, revolting..... if they keep it up, I will stop watching. I do not need to see people like this.

@Giant Misfit, I agree that this show has gotten super fakey. @libgirl2, I'm with you on TLC playing us with some of these people.

Last week they didn't disclose the truth about Bethany's having pled guilty to felony fraud charges in federal court and in addition to losing her counselor license, being on probation under a suspended ten year prison sentence. While of course that wouldn't cause a doctor to refuse to treat her, it is a major life issue for her. Which IMO the show should have disclosed, because they were supposedly showing us her "journey" and delved into the details of her life story. Including that session with the therapist on camera. 

And now we learn more about Gina, enough to convince me she's a lying liar who lies. At least I think we saw a somewhat realistic edition of Bethany's home and family life (disgusting as she was). But with Gina and her crew, who the hell knows?

I assume these poundticipants apply to be on the show, and maybe lately the show isn't getting enough applicants who are willing to cooperate and meet all the conditions to basically live with a camera crew in and out of the house a lot. So they're taking who they can get. But either they aren't checking them out - which I find hard to believe - or they're just refusing to deal on the show with the poundticipants' documented unsavory (and in some cases illegal) antics. Bah.

It seems so far this season that Dr. Now is cutting these people major slack. There's only John and Lonnie that are decent human beings and did what they were suppose to do. All the others are sketchy as Hell. And still Dr. Now keeps them on the program! Maybe the real nasties get more feedback from....well...all of us. 😳

If her sister and possibly her brother-in-law are also involved in the Porn Industry, I doubt if any of the guests would be surprised to recognize Gina. I think the whole meltdown and Van Toast were for drama. What I do wonder about, however, is what their neighbors think now that the whole seedy backstory is coming to light.

I thought it was odd that Dr. Now only required a twenty five pound a month weight loss. Isn’t it usually at least 30 or 40 for someone of her weight?  I wonder if the show did find out some nasty details, but the contract was already signed and production was forced to go through the normal steps.  Gina played it for as long as she could without actually having to have the surgery.  She moved to Houston  before losing any weight and the whole thing was filmed.  She didn’t lose any weight the first two months.  Then she extended her program participation by actually losing weight over the next couple of months.  Note that Dr. Now didn’t require another period of weight loss to prove she was committed as he usually does prior to approving surgery and she was still at least 550 pounds.  Very unusual.  Finally, she gained weight, I believe on purpose, before the surgery so the surgery wouldn’t take place.  I bet she was paid the full amount or close to it and she played them.

She's 28 years old.  Had she sustained the severe physical abuse by her father she claimed, she would have had visible signs...signs that would have been noted by teachers and questioned (and most likely reported to CPS for further investigation).  It's not the 1960s or 1970s any more where people tended to look the other way at signs of abuse.  Her "school years" weren't that long ago.  And her eating herself right into disability benefits at age 19?  OMFG...

I always eye roll at how grown-assed adults on this show bemoan their childhood and point the fingers at everyone and everything that led them to shove outrageous amounts into their gobblers before they even hit middle school.  I also eye roll at the ones who claim they gained weight in their high school years when photographic evidence shows they were well on their way to rotund as very young children.  I'm always sort of gobsmacked that their families did nothing to intervene before they hit that usual 400 lb mark.   

I've become so jaded I just roll my eyes and yell at the TV for them to grow the fuck up and get help for their problem.  At some point, they (and all of us) become responsible for steering our own proverbial ships.  I stopped watching Intervention because I started to feel the same exact way about those participants.  Being extended a chance at health and well being, but refusing it and continuing to engage in their destructive behavior.  Addiction is addiction whether it's food or drugs or alcohol or any other substance.  Ugh.  

On a lighter note, I did giggle when she demolished the rack of reading glasses and tried to escape from the scene of the crime like some lard-assed Ma Barker, though.  😄

Yes, I'm yelling.

And, I swear, I laughed out loud for several minutes over Gina's smashing around in the grocery store with that cart.

They were so haphazardly slopping paint on that thing that I swear I could have done a better job with both hands tied behind my back and using only my feet and toes.  

I started out having sympathy for Beth, but as the episode wore on (and on and on and on), I quickly lost any shred of sympathy.

And what's with these chubby chasers always claiming they fell for the pounders for their dazzling personalities?  Half the time the pounders don't have any personality at all.  Beth used that same old standby of falling for Gina's "personality," too.

Think we all had Gina pegged as a narcissistic princess in the first five minutes, loves to just lay there whole everybody else does everything, her family nag her to take a bath probably because she was starting to stink up the living room. I don't understand how anyone in their right mind can just sit in their own filth and not feel the need to clean.

That scene where Gina gets on Beth's case on buying take out, on the phone, and then you see the family giving eachother looks, did anybody else assume those looks were because of Gina? You can imagine my surprise when Mom starts ragging on Beth... like shit did I miss something?

Oh lord, doing her sister's maid of honor speech on the phone, for shame. I mean her sister really looked let down, despite the smiles. She says she's embarrassed that everyone knew she had to be out in the car... so then what's the difference whether she was out in the car or inside? At least if she were inside she wouldn't have let her sister down. She sounded like she was phoning-it-in anyway.😁

I know this is mean but did anybody else think that it was a fire hazard with Gina sitting, pretty much, blocking the doorway during the wedding rehearsal?

Love Gina's fake "Wooooooow" in front of the nutritionist... come on, man, you knew that shit was bad, don't pretend 😂

I wonder if people who visit that little place where Dr. Now's office is located, if they all try and find a space to park on the other side of the lot, I can imagine a lot of car door dings from his patients trying to get out of their cars and hitting someone else's car with their door. I bet that happens in the spaces closer to his office.😂

I don't believe anything Gina or anyone else in her family said, after seeing the removed youtube of her dancing around, and unfortunately I saw some of the porn too.      I don't think anything except Dr. Now's care was real.    There is no way that Gina took less than one partial sponge bath a month, and didn't stink to high heaven.    No one at the doctor's office, or hospital was flinching about being near her either.   They have worn gloves and masks to be around the ones with infections, or bad stink. 

   I bet Gina had no issues with going up and down stairs, and bathing.    And don't get me started on that phony wedding with the phoned in toast either.    I do believe the 26 hour trip to Houston taking 5 or more days, with the multiple drive thru stops.  

I have to laugh at her excuses for gaining weight when she gained 8 lbs, instead of losing 50 or whatever her goal was.    Poor Lola had zero chance against this woman, and her lies.  

When I had my colonoscopy, I went to the center early that morning, and they put my I.V. in, and then weighed me (seemed backwards to me).   (I lost 10 lbs. from the prep, I know they call it water weight, but it was still 10 lbs down).       You could hear between sections when the anesthesiologist did his question and answer session with each patient, and one woman was sent home right at the last minute.   So maybe for Dr. Now's patients they do the labs at his office a week or two before, or at the hospital, and then check in the morning of surgery, and that's when he does the final go or no go decision.   So depending on the procedures at the hospital, and with Dr. Now, maybe it was legit the way they showed it on the episode.

Anyway, I am always amazed at how small all of the bathrooms on these shows are.  Or maybe their size makes the bathrooms look extra small.  I have yet to see a show with a big bathroom.  And some of their houses are pretty nice.  Just something I've wondered about.

Plus she is being followed by a TV CREW! I mean she is shy all of a sudden? There was no one but her close family and the TV crew at the rehearsal when she was having a breakdown. It was over the top as the place was empty. She just wanted to be sitting in her recliner stuffing her face. Being OUT of that comfort of her chair without a mountain of food in her lap was the problem, not people staring at her.

I think it's the latter.  I mean, the hall bath in my parents' house is perfectly normal to fit one or even two fully grown adults at the same time - but I doubt someone 600+ lb could even turn around in there.  Master bath in my house is large and could easily fit a heavy person - the room, not the tub, though - but the doorway is such that I would probably have to butter Gina up to push her through it sideways, and even then I am not sure she could squeeze through...

Watching this train wreck again because I need something to take my mind off Monday. Gina is really despicable. She says she can't walk up the stairs to the full bath. Ha! Put three cheese steaks at the top of the stairs and see how fast she hustles to get them. If I were Beth, I'd give her a wash or eat ultimatum. "I'm not bringing you food until you take a shower." And that whole conversation between Beth and Gina about dinner is stupid. "You're gonna call because I ... you have to call." Wow, I'll bet Gina was on the debate team at school because that is one heck of an argument! And I hate to see her using her phone because all I can think is how smeared the screen is with grease, fecal material and God knows what else.

I've been wondering how much of those opening scenes for this show are staged especially for TV. The getting out of bed, going into the bathroom to bathe/shower, sometimes to use the toilet. Followed by the gargantuan breakfast eating scene often followed by bonus giant sized snack guzzling.

Maybe they reflect the general reality of the poundticipants' lives but I wouldn't be surprised if some aspects are "enhanced" for the cameras, to bring the drama about life as a supermorbidly obese person. 

Gina's family seems like a bunch of self-centered rude assholes. Unless they are all dirty and smelly themselves, I can't imagine they would tolerate her stinking up the house with those sketchy "bathing" habits. I think someone pointed out upthread that nobody at Dr. Now's office made any stank faces in Gina's presence. Did Dr. Now comment on her hygiene?

I've never been weighed the day of any surgery or procedure. When I was a child, I had a tonsillectomy cancelled that morning because my blood wasn't clotting fast enough, but that doesn't seem to be a routine practice now probably because there are effective clotting drugs. Anyway, the way it was filmed made it seem seem that Dr. Now cancelled at the last minute because Gina hadn't lost enough weight since the last check. That sequence makes no sense. The labs would have been done within the week of the procedure, and I can't think of any reason to weigh someone the morning of the surgery other than to dose the anesthesia properly. A piece of the story is missing.

It is possible to be put on a surgery delay or have it cancelled after you are prepped.  However, that is typically due to things like having eaten within the window in which you were not supposed to eat or failing to do the appropriate prep.  Often the anesthesiologist makes this call.  A woman next to me in a surgical prep room had eaten something and they started a 6 hour counter from the time she had eaten, delaying her surgery by 5 hours. 

The whole waiting to weigh someone is for the show. If hitting a specific weight is needed to be approved for surgery, this would be checked when doing pre-surgery labs, etc., which would likely be done a day or two before. But there is more dramahz! in seeing the poundticipant all ready to go and sending them home.  Lets us have the sad, putting my clothes back on scene.

Yep. I forgot about that. Since many of the people on this show don't follow any instructions about food, Gina probably stuffed herself until she was inside the doors of the hospital. It would be reason to send her home.
