Well, she's within her rights to come here to marry her American partner and do nothing more, on the k1. I just saw her comments about "inner peace" and "not really into work" to be the most thinly veiled attempts at producer driven shenanigans. It was just so ridiculous and obvious. 😆 She always seemed to hate Blake. But on Sunday it was clear Blake hated her, too!😂

It may be within her rights to apply for the K1, but since immigration is such a huge issue right now and it is so difficult to immigrate to our country, I would prefer to look at someone's contribution to our community or society.  Our president has "good countries" and "shithole countries" and basis his opinion on that.  I would rather have Anny here doing hair and nails, Michael selling used cars and Omar looking after our dental health than an uppity Inner-Peace seeker.

Agreed. If Jasmine aspires to be a trophy wife she has to earn her keep. By being not only beautiful (ha!), but charming, a good companion, a good hostess, and arm candy. Not a vapid plastic slug with no conversation, no wit, no charm.

(raising hand) I know I'm one! I did a bunch for "My 600 Pound Life" recently. Also suggest:

Pushy, in your face American friend or family member, who is suspicious of the foreign fiance/e's motives

Weird food

90 days isn't a very long time to know if we're really doing the right thing!

Use of the phrase "figure it out"

Visit to an immigration lawyer

Talk of a second wedding in fiance's home country

Use of the phrase "step up" or the word "provide"

Bridal shop scene

Perfect!  Now we just need someone who knows how to do Bingo cards.  As a former Kindergarten teacher, I can whip up some paper ones, but I think the high tech online variety would serve us better!

Let me see the texts first.  A lot of people like to talk big but can't back it up.

And even if the producers asked her to do this, she still AGREED to do this.

At this moment, I think how things stand on the immigration front is that people are not allowed in if they cannot support themselves. This is being challenged but the Supreme Court put a stay on it. If that is the case (and it may not be.....I’m going on a sometimes faulty memory here), then Jasmin is going to need a better plan than Sit on Ass, Find Inner Peace, Continue Feeling Morally Superior, Stay Entitled.

There was a cult documentary about these women and then a Broadway musical based on it with Christine Ebersole.

"Gray Gardens,"  the ORIGINAL reality show!  😂

(And you can bet the producers never had to prompt Little Edie to do ANY of her priceless stunts!)

90DF Bingo:

You forgot:

If (whatever) happens, I not sure if I can go through with the wedding.

The bride is wearing a fancy wedding dress - at least one guest is (under)dressed for a barbeque.

If a visit to a foreign country is involved, the American is NOT going to respect local customs because "I'm an AMERICAN dammit."

You wouldn't believe some of the things she has agreed to. A friend of mine looked her up on the internet and was shocked. Again, I'm just going by what my friend said. :-)

So does this mean the immigrant themselves have to be able to work, and bring in income, or can they marry someone to do it for them?

I'm just confused, because I thought they can't work right away.  Of course, most of them seem to be anxious to get to work:  Annie( of Annie and David), Syngin, even Juliana who doesn't need the money, Anny (of Anny and Robert),  all of them have spoken wistfully of the future when they are allowed to work.

The immigrant cannot receive public assistance. So I guess if someone is willing to underwrite his/her fiancé, it’s okay.

I think there is a distinction between people trying to immigrate from another country normally and people who are coming in on a K-1 visa.  Different rules probably - wanting to make sure that the fiancés really are in a relationship with their significant other and not just trying to get a green card - and of course harvest the American dollar.

Per the Bingo cards:

"I am going to have to re-think things"

"I am not sure what might happen"

"I always put my kids first"

"I deserve a wedding"

Kids under the age of 18 are the voice of reason

Having no money yet eating out all the time

Lying about your living quarters

Lying about the number of children you have

Filtering your face on photos

Lying about your age (Laura, I am looking at you)

Bucking the country's norms because you want a glass of wine (Laura, again, I am looking at you!)

Same goes for Jazzmin.  Her parents see their 2 daughters in LA as a step to getting there themselves.

thing is, why would the US be more enticing than Finland? It's not like they are poor from a 3rd world country.

Or, you want to display your tattooed arms in a public space, in a predominantly Muslim country.  Looking at you, Rebecca.

Exactly.  Her parents just looked happy that she is an ocean away and someone else's financial burden.  They have no reason to move to rock the boat by moving to the US.

They probably turned Jasmine's room into a study or art studio the minute she left so she can't return home.

Plus you can see the Aurora Borealis in Finland! I wonder why they wanted out?  They could have found a nice rich businessman from Sweden and Swedes have a really nice quality of life and the might not have had to move so far from home.

Jasmin’s parents want to be able to have an adult beverage every so often without having to sneak it past Jasmin’s bedroom door.

I wonder the same thing.  Given a choice between LA and Finland, no contest, Aurora Borealis for sure.   She seems perfectly suited to that environment.

There is no way to "look" Brazilian. Brazil is a huge, extremely ethnically diverse country like the US, with every phenotype the US has and more. That's like saying someone doesn't look American.

I get what you're saying but there are work and education visas for that. The K1 is just for marriage.

Likely American Instagram "influencers" do better than Finnish, and that's all she will consider by way of "work."  The thing is, homegirl has carved up and injected her face to the point of freakishness, and no one will be following her for tips on beauty. She needs to try to be a sugar baby or trophy wife....except again for the part where she carved up her face into a human tragedy, thereby alienating said men looking for said sugar babies and trophy wives.  Girlfriend, go back to Finaland. We have enough lazy non working deluded people in this country. Your not that cute. Blake can't afford to buy your Kool-Aid, never mind drink it.

This week's episode of 90DF has been rescheduled for after Groundhog Day, as Punxsutawney Tania has a scheduling conflict and will be emerging from her hole in the ground to either see, or not see, her shadow this weekend.

If she sees her shadow, she has to go back to Costa Rica for six more weeks of witch doctor training.

My hubby and I got into it about Asians in Brazil and Peru last night. Apparently, it has to do with WWII and allies and where people went to escape the war. But yeah, people of any race can be of any nationality. She could be indigenous, would also explain why her family is so poor.

You mean they don't share the last name Suger? Spelled Er instead of Ar?

Pardon me for overstepping.. but I should have said this the other day.  RIP Kobe Bryant, daughter Gianna and all the other souls who were on that helicopter.  Sometimes I get so caught up in stupid (not that you are) stuff, I forget what means the most.  Thanks.  I called my mother last night (who I have not spoken to in months - we just don't get along my whole life - the 'BOYS' (my 3 brothers) rate.. anyhoo.. I told her I loved her, which I do.  We are better apart.

I've been trying to figure out what was so familiar about Jasmine's mouth.  It's exactly like Grumpy Cat's (apparently Grumpy Cat actually had a personality though.)

Maybe Jasmin wants the California sunshine. Summer year-round, she can visit snow if she wants to. She would miss the long summer days when the sun sets around 10 pm, but not the 7 hours of daylight in winter.

Jasmin wants the So. CA show-biz career. She and her sister are convinced they have a future in modeling, or lifestyle blogs and associated merching.

Was Jasmin fatally enabled by her parents? I would be humiliated if were them at her refusal to work, or state any plans, in front the groom and his mother. A freeloader by any other name...

Jasmin reminds me of something Carrie from Sex & the City said about a party host who wouldn't allow any 'brown food' at her event: "It's like she's consciously trying to cultivate an eccentricity so that people won't notice she's completely devoid of personality."

Not that high considering the health care benefits.
