The Last of Us season 1 took one year to film, and I can find an article that quotes Pedro as saying that there's only a chance that season 2 starts filming before the end of 2023.  If Mando starts in October, that gives him a couple months (hopefully, or more) to be on the Mando set and do the helmetless scenes (fingers crossed!).  Plus, he obviously must get some time off during that year and isn't needed on TLoU set every single day.

If they stay true to the game, TLoU filming won’t create as much of a problem for Pedro’s availability because his character is killed off in the first act of the second game.
