Porsha back with Dennis 🙄

I didn’t even like Dennis “joking” about outfit approval for Toronto.  Before we even fuck around with “outfit approval” and you cheated on my ass?  There’s six months of courting, then three months of moving back into the marital home while you sleep on the couch and take care of the child with a ring on my finger and a wedding date with a deposit on a venue, and then, sometime around the 10 month mark, if you’re doing everything to my approval, we can begin to dip our feet in the water, and be jocular about “outfit approval.”

I am so disappointed that Porsha has reverted to twerking as a form of greeting.  I love twerking.  I don’t think it’s out.  I don’t think flossing took over for twerking, and I think it’s very hard.  But it has it’s time and place, the airport not being one of them.

Why does Nene get to skip so much shit?  Why didn’t she have to fly with them?  Eva was there, and she’s in her third trimester!  Eva finally pulled her weight this episode.  I still don’t like her.  I don’t like her listening face, complete with eyebrows that look like check marks.  It makes her look even more like Terrence Howard, as someone pointed out last season.

I was glad that Cynthia and Kandi told Kenya that Marc sucks.  Kandi doesn’t need to follow up with talk about how being an ass who likes to hang out in lounges, like Todd, is endemic to being from New York.  Patrick Bateman liked to hang out in New York lounges.

I wasn’t impressed with their dancing.  Kandi...awkward.  Porsha is a one-trick pony with her twerking.  Yovanna was the only one who seemed good.

Nene did look good when she finally arrived.  She looks like she’s trimming down, and this is maybe the best her hair has ever looked.  I guess it’s cause she has all this time not filming to work on herself.

So Eva gets to run off at the mouth about Porsha and her response is “it wasn’t my intention to hurt your feelings”?  So she’s merely reckless then?  That’s comforting.  It’s better than Kenya’s “I’m fucking happy for you/I ride for you” non-response about talking about the engagement before it happened.  What happened to, “I’m sorry.  I really screwed up.  It wasn’t my intention, but it was my fault”?

At least things are starting to pick up.  And next week we are blessed with Nene donning sunglasses inside.  What more could a girl ask for?  😠

Honestly, I'm confused about the timing of Carnival in Toronto.  I always thought Carnival in Rio and all over the Caribbean was like Mardi Gras? Before Ash Wednesday. 40 days before Easter.  This looks like it's in the SUMMER..... So I guess it's too cold in Canada in the winter for people to be dancing around barely clothed?

And seriously, Porsha needs to get a little bit more backbone.  Dennis still seems like a full on asshole to me.  Just a touch too ready to forgive and forget; especially after all of her protestations of "I don't DESERVE this!"  What happened to that?

And finally, WHY does the Moose get to decide WHEN or even IF she goes on group trips when she's making $2 mil a year???

Questions, questions.

I don't know why Cynthia would be touched by a note that NeNe signed "NeNe Leakes."  Seems a little formal for former good friends.  But then, my brother used to sign everything "your brother, then his entire name", so what do I know.

You are correct about Carnival in Toronto not following the Catholic calendar just like labor day in Brooklyn NY.  Carnival was originally celebrated in Catholic countries like Brazil, Mexico,e.t.c.  Trinidad actually follows the Catholic calendar for Carnival.

Trinidad has an interesting history, it went from being Spanish who gave the island that name, to French, to British back to French and then remained British but they continued with the custom of Carnival brought on over by the French colonizers.  The British and the French were bitter rivals fighting for territories in the Caribbean, North America, different islands in the Indian ocean, e.t.c.

LMAO, again with Eva’s shade amnesia! I love Porsha bringing up her issue with ALL the women present so there’s no playing telephone the whole season.

I’m over the recording whodunnit — I’m pretty sure it was Yovanna’s thirsty ass, anyway.

Too much Tanya this episode.

Looking forward to Nene inevitably ruining the fun of the group trip.

Sadly, it is close to 3 million before taxes. I was sick as a dog yesterday but I am still dragging my ass to work for my paltry, not near $2.8 million salary, while Nene barely does shit for her money.

Last week's preview showed Nene and Kenya getting into their altercation and Bravo punked me.  Jerks.  It was the main reason I was watching.

But, since I did...

Eva is a bald faced liar.

Kandi's boobs look unhappy all smashed down in her talking heads.

Cynthia can't twerk for shit.

Porsha is an idiot for letting Dennis back in her life, period.  If your name is linked in any kind of way with beastiality, then you make me sick and the real beast is the two legged kind.  He's a slimy bastard.

Tanya is way too perky.

Kenya knows good and well she was making a moment for herself when she told Cynthia about the proposal beforehand.  Shady AF.

Nene's ass wasn't kissed when she made her grand entrance and that was pretty much the best moment of the whole episode.

I was happy there was no "Hi, sexy lady" greeting that the howives usually do when they see each other. Nene did look good, but she was kind of spilling out of her top, though this is pretty standard for the show.

Gotta love the playback, but can ANY of these women discuss and resolve issues like ADULTS?? The middle people is where it goes wrong, but still. Start at the origin & work your way to the end! Porsha was reacting to Eva REACTING. She wasn't dogging her out for the hell of it!! COME ON!! YEARS these women have been doing these hashing outs & they ALWAYS fail!! Will they ever learn?? 😂😂

Nene so damn temperamental. Can't STAND moody people!! Everyone has to set their feelings aside and wait on her call. I applaud Porsha for not faking it, but she hasn't gotten the call... yet. 😅 Nene NEVER apologizes! You know who else doesn't apologize & nobody likes him either... Marlo was more accurate than we even knew back then. 😝 WTF is her life coach?? Looking like an ex-con that just came from the club. 😂😂 ALL these women need to take OWNERSHIP of their words & actions. That's where they need to start. WHY is confronting Queen Nene so difficult?? Can't believe Kandi just rolled over like that, but eh. Remember that counseling session Nene called & then walked out of cuz it wasn't going how she wanted? Yeah. CONTROLLER!! All she cares about is HERSELF, her feelings, her terms. Maybe she's bipolar or something. It's just gunna be the SAME THING EVERY TIME. On good terms til she's not.

🤔 Was Porscha throwing shade at Yovanna during the Ponderosa by calling her "E"-vanna repeatedly? So much for being "THAT bitch from Clark," lol. I'm LIVING for Porscha this season! Her bedazzled flask was fabulous--- I want one!

Those were some non-apology-ass-apologies from both Kenya & Eva.

Definitely. Eva's been pulling stealth bitch moves since her Top Model days. You'd think a seasoned reality television personality would know how to conduct herself better so she wouldn't get caught in a lie. I like how she keeps forgetting that the cameras are always rolling and that playback is real.

Kenya and "I ride hard for her" in regards to blowing up Cynthia's proposal was laughable. She and NeNe are two of a kind in that regard. They're too good to apologize.

It's ridiculous for Todd to go to the lounge/strip club while his wife is taking care of their newborn at home, but it's even worse for Marc to head out considering that he and Kenya don't live in the same state! I'm not saying don't go out and have a good time, but you know Todd and Marc weren't gone for an hour and back home at a decent hour. Marc and Kenya are in a long-distance marriage, so you'd think he'd spend the bulk of his time with his family, but nah. The thoughtlessness is strong with him.

I appreciated the Toronto porn, but overall, I thought this episode was eh.

I hate episodes like this one - they're just filler and a waste of time.  Meanwhile - Tanya is thirsty AF.  Was there a moment when she actually had a peach and then in post editing they swapped it from her?  Why is a "Friend Of" organizing a trip?

Kenya is showing her true nature- pretty on the outside, ugly on the inside. She’s had some tough things to deal with, but, the statute of limitations is up. There’s a reason she has never had a healthy relationship with a man. Marc is a creep, but like attracts like. Kenya needs a soul overhaul.

Why is Nene even on this show? I don’t even enjoy hate watching her anymore.

I want a happy ever after for Porsha, but, Dennis......?! 🤢

Is she really forgetting though?  I ask because every Housewives franchise has this storyline.  HW#1 says shady shit about HW#2 which HW#3 (and sometimes 4 and 5, lol) dutifully relays to HW#2.  Then, when called on her comment, HW#1 says “I never said/don’t remember saying that!”.  Cue the editors rolling the tape of the original comment.

Unless Bravo is recruiting in memory care facilities, I find all these recurring arguments very coincidental 😂.

I think Porsha is conflicted regarding Dennis.

I don't think she honestly thinks there is a long term future with him but I think that she wants another child and wants her children to be full siblings.

Honestly I can't fault her for that meaning no disrespect to women who have sired children with multiple fathers. It is far easier to deal with only one baby daddy versus having to deal with two separate fathers and all the reality of that - custody, visitation, holidays, moving etc.

If she plans to have another child, she probably wants to get pregnant reasonably soon and so breaking up with Dennis and THEN finding another man who she has even a semblance of a "real" relationship would take a bit of time. Makes far more sense to swallow one's pride and get pregnant with the existing bad choice rather than bring another potential bad choice into the mix.

Many of the carnivals in different parts of the Caribbean are to celebrate emancipation from slavery.  My family is from the Virgin Islands and Anguilla.  USVI has their carnival usually in April, but BVI and Anguilla both have theirs the first Monday in August.  I think Barbados is also in August.

I really enjoyed the dance lesson scene, especially watching Eva dancing on the exercise ball while also eating snacks.

200,000 likes to this.

I don’t understand why they brought her back and at such a high salary - Bravo does not seem to understand the difference between bad reality TV that is entertaining and Nene Leakes, who is bad, and bad reality tv to boot who actually repels viewers. They ate too much of their own Kool-aid and then, there’s Satan Andy.

I haven heard anything anywhere that is glad Nene Leakes is back on her TV. Now, of course, I haven’t actually talked to her wallet or Gregg Leakes, although, if I was the latter would b saying “will she be put of the for a few hours, if so, go for it”

These shows only work if it’s believable that all of the women are invested in being part of the social circle.  They don’t have to all be friends, but we have to believe they care about their standing with the other women and want to be included.  That’s why the shows don’t work when there’s a huge age gap-it’s not believable a 60 yo and a 30 yo would be hanging out together.

When LVP made it clear she didn’t consider any of the other RHoBH her equals, she had to go.  Nene is the same.  She obviously doesn’t want to spend time with these women, doesn’t value any of them and doesn’t care about any of them, and (unlike Bethany or Teresa), she’s not even willing to fake it.

And unlike BH, the rest of the Atlanta women, in particular Porscha and Kandi, have stepped up and provided fodder for the show that doesn’t have anything to do with Nene.  I don’t understand why they brought her back.

Carnival is celebrated at different times in different places for folks who are part of the African Diaspora, they usually tacked it on to an accepted celebration (or an emancipation celebration as @luckyroll3 noted above) wherever they landed so in Toronto its the last weekend in July/first weekend of August. In NY its on Labor Day. and in some places its New Year's Day or tied to Lenten celebrations. I worked with a woman from Grenada, and after she retired, she spent one year doing Carnival around the world - I think she did one each month for a year.

Its yet again one of those things that doesn't get a lot of mainstream play or acknowledgement but for those who do Carnival, its a thing:

World Carnival Calendar 2020

Because the trip organizer has to be able to get along with everyone. Since all the regulars are fighting that leaves Marlo, Tanya or Yovanna to organize the trip. Marlo and Eva aren't on great terms so there's a chance Eva would say no and everyone is side-eyeing "that bitch" which is why Tanya got the short straw.

I see what you're saying, but since they're all "fake hosted", why the charade of having a friend do it?  Aren't they contractually obligated to attend these anyway, hence Nene showing up on her own flight.

I think because they still need to story to be consistent. So based on where the story was when the trip was planned, Marlo and Eva were on the outs. It wouldn't make any sense that one of them would have hosted. Also, the trip needs to fit naturally into someone's storyline. The other possible choice for a hostess would have been Kandi, but where would she have proposed going? Production has to plan these a couple of months out, so with that in mind, and knowing that the baby could come shortly, I'm guessing she didn't make it off the short list.

As for the contractual obligation, women on all the HW's shows have been able to get around that by getting "sick" or having some other last minute emergency come up. Remember Kim opting out of every trip after her marriage to Kroy? If Nene had wanted to stay home she could have, but she doesn't want to miss a chance to preen in front of the cameras.

I watched a show on E last night called "Is Fame Addictive?"  They mentioned reality show stars and how they need to do more outrageous things to stay relevant.  I think that's why Nene keeps coming back to RHOA.  I don't think she likes any of these ladies, but that doesn't matter. Sharon Osborne said that fame is the most addictive drug you can be exposed to.

As an introvert, being famous is my nightmare. I would love to have fortune but not fame.

It is also why sometimes I feel like we never saw the real Kenya on this show. She has a character and it gets her in the limelight.

The money for the Atlanta cast is also good.

Regarding Kenya's hair.

When she first started on the show, I am pretty sure that her hair was really her own. Of course hair is to a great extent genetic and so she won the hair lottery - as did I :-). While cuts and color make a difference, product really has very little impact on my hair.

However, it made sense for Kenya to start a hair care line as she at least is (or was) a great model for what her products "theoretically" could do.

Now it seems as though she is using extensions, weaves and wigs and it's no longer her own hair. At least to me Kenya and fake hair seems to be off brand.

She's definitely using extensions. I would guess her hair is thinning a little due to the natural effects of aging but her real hair is still long and fabulous. And I agree with you, when I see extra hair on her, it doesn't quite fit her.
