This just looks like more of the dreary nonsense that infests all the Craig movies. He could be a great Bond, but not if they keep saddling him with material like this. Unless the reviews are stellar, I think I'll avoid it.

That's not promising.  

Whenever the Craig movies embrace continuity, it turns out to be an awful film.  Also, will Craig actually show up for this film or will he literally sleepwalk through the entire thing like he did with Spectre.

I agree but since Craig's Bond seemingly drove off into the sunset with Lea Seydoux at the end of the last movie, they have to bring him back into the game somehow. At least he's not going rogue again.

The new characters look cool and it's great seeing the old ones back.

Maybe not. It seems that Bond THINKS that she's betrayed him, but she wouldn't be working for MI6 as she apparently is if that were the case.

If she ends up dying, then she's the new Vesper! I don't want to use the term "fridged" because they were staying true to the Ian Fleming novel which was written in a time when killing off the heroine was actually surprising.

The Bond songs from the Craig era have bored me immensely (even if they have won Oscars). I know why the producers have chosen Billie, but she sounds bored singing her own songs, I can only imagine how bored and underemotive she is going to sound singing a boring Bond song she wrote. I could be proved wrong but I doubt it.

It's an incredibly haunting and beautiful song, and the lyrics strongly allude to his fractured relationship with Madeline.

That moment in the Oscars commercial where Bond and Madeline exchange "This is it" is intriguing.

I'm guessing they're off enjoying an idyllic life in Italy when the bad guys catch up with them. (Ripping off The Bourne Supremacy).  At some point, Bond believes that Madeline has betrayed him. He dumps her and runs off to Jamaica where Letter draws him back into service. He returns, finds Madeline working for MI-6. . . and I have no idea about the rest, but I think I can guess the beginning fairly well.

I also wonder if for the first time, a lot of the movie will be told in flashbacks. A lot of the Bond/Madeline scenes have that look about them.

The soundtrack will be released on March 27.

The runtime is going to be 2 hours and 43 minutes. Get lots of snacks and start bladder training.

The director did a behind the scenes bit where he confirms that the movie picks up 5 years after the events of Spectre.

I wanted to see it Thursday the 9, but all the good IMAX times clash with my Holy Thursday service. 

Why do they still say that a movie's release date is a Friday when they start showing it on Thursdays? First they'd start at the stroke of midnight on the Friday release date, then it got pushed back to late Thursday night, but for this, it starts in the day on Thursday.

It’s one thing to postpone an opening, but SEVEN MONTHS?!  There has to be more to it than the Coronavirus.

Who thinks they’re going to take this time to overhaul the whole movie?

No, this is absolutely fallout from the pandemic.  They are hoping that the money lost due to moving the film ($30-50 million according to one Hollywood Reporter article) will be less than missed ticket revenue from closed theaters in places like China, or customers in other markets just staying home.

As for why November- it’s simply not possible to just delay a movie release by a few weeks or even months.  For one thing, there’s no assurance that this situation will be any better in May or June than it would be in April.  Even if it is though, that’s the heart of summer movie season- and they don’t want Bond to potentially compete with other huge releases, including their own.  That’s not to say that it won’t face competition in November, but they must believe that it will draw better against Godzilla/Kong and Eternals, than Black Widow or WW84.

Also, they need to scrub the entire marketing campaign- replacing physical ads like posters and billboards, rescheduling media ad buys, fixing trailers, etc... You basically have to re-educate an audience that has been expecting this film for months now, that it’s now coming out in the fall, which is going to take time.

The only positive I can see in all of this is that Thanksgiving has generally been a good slot for Bond- hopefully  it’ll be worth the wait, for the studio and us.

Yeah, this is annoying as hell, but I can well believe that their math says postponement is better than opening right now. Bond isn't some little indie movie, it's reliant on big box office. Their figures must show them that the cost of postponement is still better than the loss of revenue (particularly in Asia, I'd guess) they would have to deal with if they open now.

And with them closing movie theaters in the US, UK, and. . . everywhere, basically, it looks like they ultimately wouldn't have had any choice but to delay.

I can't believe how much worse things have gotten since my last post.

Does anyone know if the soundtrack will still be released on March 27? It's occurred to me that the track titles might give away the plot and TPTB wouldn't want to do that.

After much searching, I can answer my question--yes, it will be delayed until the 13 of November.

An article about how "Casino Royale" has been voted the best Bond movie ever has this intriguing tidbit:

"Lynd's death in the movie is said to have echoes in the forthcoming 25th film, No Time To Die, Craig's last as 007, due out in November."

Please, make it stop. Casino Royale was great. Everything after has been terrible. Not that all the old ones were stellar, but so far Craig has more misses than hits.

I don't like diving into Bond's past, or overly mytholgising the series. Just give me something interesting going forward. Oh, Blofeld is in this. Great. We've already seen Bond beat him. Technically, twice. Waltz can play a great villain, given the chance. But this one, isn't it. No thanks.

The Craig Bond films have alternated between good and not so good, so hopefully this one is good! The new cast (Ana de Armas, Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch) are all stellar, and the action looks as fun as ever, but the continuity with Spectre makes me pause. That said, I'm in if I can go see it safely, but I am skeptical it's going to be in theaters in November.

He looks very miffed after the car flies over his head. That's the only thing I can find amusing. They are trying to make Moneypenny shooting Bond a recurring inside joke but I barely ever remember when that happened. Two movies ago?

AARGH! This is so frustrating!

I want the big theatre, oversized, overpriced popcorn and soda experience as much as anyone, but at this rate, I really think they should just release it On Demand.

They release it in late February and a few days later they announce the postponement. Then they release the video and the NEXT DAY they announce another postponement.

Thats too bad. I've been dying to see this even before all hell broke loose, and now even more so thanks to all the delays and the intriguing tidbits that keep getting dropped.

They should release it on demand and just rerelease it if/when theaters open, like many studios have done with movies that came out just before the shutdowns. Because at this rate, who knows if the April date will hold?
