Episode Discussion II: The TFGH

Recommended Posts

I can't stand Michael. I can't stand Michael and Willow as a couple, which is a shame as I really quite liked Willow when she was with Chase.

Are we really, truly, 100% sure that Peter is dead? Because dragging out the Maxie-is-worried-about-Peter-so-Louise-stays-with BL and Valentin for ages is just going to get boring. I really think it would have been much more interesting and soapy for Peter not to be dead and in 6 months time or something kidnap baby Bailey, not realizing she is actually his daughter.

Why wouldn't Maxie tell Britt the truth about the baby? Britt knew the plan was for her to find someone to keep the baby safe - so why not tell Britt that she executed the plan herself and Louise is with Brook Lynn? Staying silent with the one person who knew what they were planning makes no sense.

I thought for sure when Anna was stabbing at the elevator button repeatedly, that when it finally opened Heinrik’s body would have fallen out. Hey, Remington Steele did something similar and the way the victim did it was clever. And this regime shamelessly steals stuff, so why not?

So is this Anna leaving to find the ‘Real Anna Devane’ Finola’s exit for her summer vacation?

Now I can add “WHINY” to the SLS so his new moniker is gonna be WSLS.

SHUT UP, Stella.

STFU SAM and Shawn.

I can't believe they're actually having Nina fall for "Mike." How pathetic

This is the same show that has insisted that Sonny is the sexiest bad boy to ever exist and gave him two daughters, two sons, one adopted son, and an adoring stepdaughter. If Nina were ten years younger I wouldn't put it past them for him to impregnate her. Lol This is all totally par for the course.

Same! Especially because for a second there I thought the door was having trouble opening. I was mildly disappointed that didn't happen, tbh. It would have been very soapy.

Maxie yelling at Anna to focus on finding Peter and not her newborn baby should set off alarms in Anna, but no, she just nods and says OK.  What mother isn't going to be like "find my baby as soon as possible!"  Not Maxie, I guess.

I guess Dante managed to lose Sam the Stalker for the day--shocking that it's on a day when he's investigating a crime against people she doesn't like.

Chekov's Sauce rears its garlicky head again, I see.  I don't care who Nina gives it to (though whoever said Olivia, Patron Saint of Pasta, is a good guess) if it ends this stupid story.

Remember those 10 minutes when Michael was mad at Sonny and Carly, grew a spine, and actually acted like a decent human being?  Yeah, me neither.

I understand now why Willow fell for Michael. When he pouts, he acts just like a six-year-old. She does enjoy taking care of small children.

I wouldn’t put it past them to have him impregnate her now.  Since when have they let biology or logic get in the way of a storyline? Also, Sonny’s magic sperm cannot be denied.

I don’t care who samples the spaghetti as long as they instantly drop their fork and bellow, “Sonnnnyyy! I’d know that sauce anywhere!!” before collapsing in a dead faint. If the reveal is going to be this dumb, might as well go way over the top.

Finn is not Chase’s father. Cyrus had the results changed to further mess with Finn. We heard Cyrus on the phone confirming it, although he never specifically said what test he wanted changed.

This show that I love to hate.  It knows how to manipulate me. As an GH "old timer," today's flashback with Liz and Finn working together brought back memories of Steve and Audrey Hardy. I'm actually looking forward to Finn and Liz as a couple, she's much better suited for him than Anna.

I can’t believe I’m even giving the gravy subplot a second of thought, but didn’t Phyllis give a jar of it to Trina?  That went nowhere.  I could definitely see annoying Olivia as the one who somehow recognizes it as Sonny’s.

I also thought it was Peter’s corpse slowing down the elevator, but I pictured it on the roof so it would come dramatically crashing down to the elevator floor while Anna was inside.

The breaking-stuff scene was too lame for words, it just looked so low-budget.  Did I see one of them TWIRLING with a handful of tape from a VHS cassette?

I love Finn and Liz together.  I actually really like Finn when he’s not with Anna.

What else is new? They also dropped the plot where Heinrik supposedly gave Valentin the next antidote dose, but then the kidnapping, drugging, birthing all happened, so why show us what happened? We're only the viewers after all.

Agreeing with others that I don't see what the harm would have been in Maxie telling Britt what happened given what Britt already knows.  I would love for Britt to sniff it out on her own, though, given Brook has already pinged her scheming bitch radar.

It's wrong, but I loved Dr. O's rather casual "I should have just killed LWB/FS, my bad!" when talking to Maxie.  And her assuring Maxie she would have worked out how to stay out of jail for it, rather credible given all the evidence we've seen over the years.

I'm usually more tolerant to them interacting than others, but Anna and Dr. O bonding and smashing things up was rather silly.  I like it when they're more spikey with each other.

The way Maxie was looking at Britt, I got the sense that she blamed Britt for not showing up; not letting her know what was going on, and that worrying about Austin and possibly killing Fake!Chloe wouldn't have happened if Britt hadn't run off with Jason.

Britt is smart enough to connect the dots if she sees BL with Bailey, but who knows if she'll be allowed to.

Has Britt ever apologized to Maxie for not being there for the birth? It's not Britt's fault Cyrus tried to have her killed and she had to go on the run, but it certainly threw a monkey wrench into Maxie's plans.

Britt's return to GH was very anticlimactic. Not that I expected streamers and cake, but the only person she talked to before Maxie was Dr. O, who was already with her. Jordan probably should want to talk to her. (Insert usual jokes about the ineptness of the Jordan and the PCPD.)

When Britt and Dr. O's first scene started, I noted how absolutely empty the hospital seemed, it really made it feel like a set.  I dunno if it's a COVID-era thing, but it was quite noticeable.

Yeah, it was like putting Jackie in front of a wall to shoot her scene on the phone. Maybe some of what we're still seeing was shot when the protocols were stricter. Or maybe it was a time-of-day thing? At any rate, it was weird.

Y'all know I hate Michael, and I don't care that Jax blackmailed him but was Jax serious?!?!?! He had the nerve to say, "We're still family." Umm . . .  you don't blackmail someone and then expect them to still be friendly w/you and see you as "family."  Granted, I don't think Jax/Michael had a relationship in the first place (at least not one I recall seeing in recent years), but Jax shouldn't be shocked. You blackmailed him. Of course he doesn't want anything to do w/you.

Michael and family are hypocrites that way. They still expected Jax to get along with/be friendly toward Sonny after Sonny had his plane disabled so it would crash, as well as set Jax up to be arrested for assault.  Michael is just so used to having everyone around him bend over backwards to give him what he wants, when he wants,, and cover for him because he's a Corinthos and a Quartermaine by blood, that his reaction to Jax standing up to him with a very lame blackmail is to have a temper tantrum.

Maxie is so stupid. She should have told Britt has about giving her baby to BLQ. She still should be examined by a doctor to lend credibility that she recently gave birth and Britt could help with that

A) My bet is Josslyn, since she could taste the sauce sample from either Trina or from Nina, while accompanying Jax whenever he tries to get back with Nina.  Or maybe Carly, since the Show finds ways to make her the center of the GH universe.

B) This is plot point stupidity, to drag things out.

"Sonny prevails, even in death" - 🤮Shut UP, Laura

Wow, Phyllis certainly thinks highly of herself, Lenny, "Mike" and their town to think Nina will absolutely be back once she's bored with spending time with her grandson. P&L are getting very pushy about Sonny and Nina being together. UGH. Don't care about the P&L angst.

Elizabeth continues to be good at getting through to Finn when he's frustrated and/or being dramatic.

Don't care about the Brando, Sasha, Gladys stuff but Sasha's "sharing" line was so cringey/sounding like Carly/'badly written!!

The only version of Cyrus I like is the one threatening/trying to blackmail Carly (and her kid). Good to see Carly nervous.

Preview: well, maybe Nina will want Valentin back now that he's showing her his "second daughter."

I have no love for Cyrus but even he does not deserve to be handcuffed to a bed and have to listen to Carly. Also, way to kow-tow to Carly, no name PCPD cop. I thought nothing could be worse than Mob Boss Sonny but Dona Carly is a nightmare. Don't lie, Carly, you absolutely would wish that on not only your worst enemy but the next 200 in line too.

Unfortunately Carly's sanctimoniousness is rubbing off on Laura. Not a good look for her. Seriously, I'm rooting for Cyrus now.

Was there a time jump? Because Sasha looks 6 months pregnant now.

Wasn't the switch supposed to be done at the spa anyway? Maxie just substituted Bobbie for Britt so yeah, FakeChloe would still have got to her. I'll forgive Maxie though because she's all hormonal and missing Louise (who now has a better name).

If I were Chase, I'd want to die just to get away from Millow.

Sasha should be about 8 weeks pregnant, at most.  And yet, they're dressing her like she's 5 or 6 months along.  And she's showing her ultrasond picture of a fully formed fetus, which at 2 months would only be the size of a peanut, literally.  SM is not pregnant in real life so why is the show fast forwarding this pregnancy.  At this rate the baby will be born before the end of summer and will beat Olivia/Julian/Leo as the shortest pregnancy in the history of ever.  So dumb.

No.  Maxie told Peter and Chloe that she was going to a spa for a babymoon before the due date.  Her plan was for Bobbie and Brook Lynn to meet her at a  house that she rented in Beecher's Corner where Bobbie was going to deliver the baby.  Chloe decided to change things up by kidnapping Maxie before she could go anywhere and take her to the house in the woods in Pontauk (or wherever they've been saying Austin is from)

I love how drama queen Finn was being today.  Throws all of the paperwork on the ground then declares that he's going to turn himself in to police.  It was such a whiplash moment, of wait, what?!  Liz was all, dude calm down, don't turn yourself in, and keep tying to find a cure and just like that, calm as a cucumber.

Also, when someone throws everything from a desk onto the floor, or throws barware across the room, my first thought is always, someone has to clean that mess up now.

I remember when Sonny "died" and turned up at Nixon Fails without his memory and I thought that maybe just maybe we'd have something interesting. But the story became old two weeks later, and it has only gotten worst since and it just feels like some self-indulgent crap now. Sonny is being pushed into a new romance and dispensing advice to people who never needed it, but then, maybe they did because they're failed business owners, Phyllis had to have tips from him for her cooking and Lenny is one heartbeat away from dropping dead. Maybe Sonny will donate his heart for the cause. Do it Sonny!

I cannot stand this Chase storyline, which has nothing to do with him, but is so testing the virtue and goodness of Michael and Willow. Poor poor Michael and Willow. Chase's health issues are such an inconvenience. Please don't have Willow marry Chase out of pity because he's about to die. They are going to sacrifice a perfectly good character at the altar of those two. It's really depressing.

I think violence against women is disgusting but someone needs to punch Carly in the face. Hard. Carly is the person you send to kick people when they're down. And look at her thinking of everything!

This would be the perfect time to write off Brando and Sasha. They are having a baby, they seem very happy together, they are figuring out the next steps of their relationship. But nope. It looks like Gladys is up to no good with Sasha. She'll probably wait for the baby to be born, then kill Sasha so that she can have Brando and the baby all to herself.

What is it with these grown-ass men who have their mommies around emasculating the hell out of them. One Michael is enough. Thanks.

To let us know that there is more of the antidote somewhere out there where police, FBI, WSB and other law enforcement have no idea where.  Here's a crazy thought, look into any holdings that Peter might have had in the PC area that might house a lab or something that would create or keep the vials.  This should write itself.

It didn't take but a couple (if that) episodes without MB's regular crew to hide his acting deficiencies, to see that it would be weak sauce.  Then again, I am hoping that because FV's pets have been recast as doctors that the show might focus on the hospital instead of the vile, thuggish, and violent Corinthos family.  MB must have some type of charm IRL that is not translated onto my screen.

Sasha found out like last week that she’s pregnant. She and Brando were together about a month, maybe two ago. And she’s suddenly five months pregnant and showing? Will the kid be born next week?

so Nina is en route to PC to see Wiley while Phyllis and Lenny are telling Mike to get on a plane to PC and surprise her. At this point I would actually welcomed that scenario if it gets rid of the Nixon Falls story.

I’m surprised the crackerjack lab that Finn used didn’t figure out that the DNA wasn’t a match and that’s why the cure failed.

so Carly knew where Florence was the whole time? And couldn’t tell Martin because why? 🙄

Nixon Fails is like a failed comedy pilot from the late '70's: "Watch what happens when an amnesiac mobster and publishing heiress  find themselves in the same small town!  See the sparks fly as the local bar owners push them together as they all work to save the town from ruin!"  All that's missing is a bad laugh track.

Sasha found out like last week that she’s pregnant. She and Brando were together about a month, maybe two ago. And she’s suddenly five months pregnant and showing? Will the kid be born next week?

I think Gladys is going to push Sasha down an elevator shaft.  Tock.

Do you mean on GH, or soaps in general? I remember CarJack on ATWT being the first one I ever heard.

I actually already responded to this earlier. I'm fairly certain this is the history of couple portmanteaus. It was Fletcher and Holly on Guiding Light. Their fans created a round robin fanfic message board and treated that as their soap and called it Folly World, not happy when Holly went back to Roger. Folly based on their names. Other GL fans started combining their couple names after that. Manny for Michelle/Danny being the next big one to take off. It then spread to other soaps.

Then someone in the media world called Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez Bennifer (clearly a soap fan), and the rest is history.

It would actually be an interesting story is she cared for both men.  But at this point, anytime she's near Chase, or talking about Chase, she looks thoroughly disgusted like he's something under her shoe, rather than a guy she almost married and was in love with.

I made a similar comment on another board weeks ago.

I have a hard time believing Willow likes Chase let alone loved him at one point. She doesn't appear to care for him as a friend. She always looks so annoyed at having to deal with him and his issues. Honestly, there's no way Chase, in the real world, wouldn't have picked up on her vibe by now. I'm not sure why the directors aren't telling her she doesn't have to look repulsed by him and his family! She's been acting that way since the polar jump or whatever.

KM may not be capable of the nuance this story requires! I can't imagine why Chase thinks she loves him. She appears to hate and resent him.

Speaking of, I heard someone refer to round 2 as "Againifer."  I approve.

JLo rotates boyfriends so much I'd swear she was on a soap opera.

Sonny: “I gave Nina some of my special sauce so she won’t forget me.” Ick. Gag. Please tell me he was referring to the marinara.

Millow looked so crestfallen by news of Chase’s relapse, but not because he was sick— because now they have to keep the charade going. Damn that Chase! Why can’t he either get better or just die already, and let True Love triumph! So rude.
