What's the point of this thing with Jason? It's so tired.

Jason = Mr. Potato Head.

He's had so many brain injuries I'm sure GH has some spare parts lying around.

I would not be surprised if it was the WSB torturing Dante. I’ve never had the faith in them other fans have, since they did employ the likes of Sean Donnelly (TRAITOR!) and never knew Anna was a double agent for some time. And then they decided to eliminate Robert for no good reason.

Yeah, no. The WSB has always been trash.

Sean was so cool, even though you could never be sure who's side he was on. 🙂 Had great chemistry with Monica when they had their affair. Have we seen Frisco since he became WSB Director. IIRC, the last time he was on-screen is a few years ago, tormenting Britt.

YMMV on Sean. I never enjoyed him because he could screw anyone at any time yet was presented as a hero after some point.

And Frisch abandoned his wife and daughters. Yup, I’d trust an organization that demanded that kind of commitment... 🤔

No one thinks to call Monica. Whatever, she's probably looking after the kids anyway.

In this case, I might give them a pass because I'm wondering if they're holding off on using the elder statesmen while they're figuring out COVID protocols.  I know the UK soaps are doing that.

I wonder if any of the teens and younger are going to show up anytime soon. If I were a parent, I'd rather not have my kid take any unnecessary risks.

Sam and Carly are the bestest of friends now, don't you know?

Apparently that happened over the break.

I think it happened when Sam insisted she had to be invited to their vow renewal because it was just so wonderful.

Sam and Carly have been weirdly close for a while.

I bet we won't see the youngest kids for a while, which is fine with me even without a pandemic. We might see the teens. They're no more vulnerable than anyone without a preexisting condition. None of their stories are driving the show, though. I don't need to see Trina snap at Portia/Jordan/Curtis for the fortieth time, and Jasus knows Dev lifts right out. Joss and Cam are in a holding pattern with their relationship.

I thought he did, told Sonny something about Lulu and Cyrus being there at the same time.  Then I zoned out at the horse story. How many years has Mike been dying now?

He told Jason. And Jason replied that he wanted to know if Cyrus came back.

Cam (William Lipton) was back on set I think. He was interviewed about being back and how glad he was to see everyone and also happy that they can provide new episodes for the fans.

Carly threatening Finn that Jason better be OK.  Because that's what you want to do: imply the guy holding the scalpel to your ~soulmate's brain is going to get offed if anything goes wrong.

Shut up, Carly.

Isn't Finn an infectious disease specialist? He shouldn't be doing surgery on Jason's brain in the first place. Portia is a pediatrician, right? That seems about right for Jason, LOL.

I know, every doctor on GH can do everything, until the plot demands they can't.

Finn told them they had called or talked to a neurologist. Maybe he or she will operate. Guess they didn’t want or have the 💴 for day player?

as for Portia, I think they referred to her as a generalist or something.

And since it’s the same day as when we saw Monica earlier in the week, she’s probably in the hospital somewhere. Plus I suspect they want to keep the number of people in one scene to the minimum required.

Are they though? Did Brando and Elizabeth need to be in that scene? Did two doctors need to give Jason’s case status? Did Peter, Lulu, and Maxie need to show up in the background? It seems like they’re shoving more actors in scenes than they would have pre-pandemic.

I should have been more clear. As I think as @TeeVee329 stated up thread, the show is probably keeping those actors in Leslie Charles’ age range to a minimum because they are more at risk.

As for the others like Liz, Finn, and Portia? Yes. It’s a soap about a hospital and I had no problem with them being their. Since they’re back to filming, I can’t see the point of just showing one to two actors per scene when the setting is in the hospital.

If I sit here and rant at how this many people shouldn’t be together or that close, etc., then I shouldn’t bother to watch. For better or worse, they’re going to do this.

Before this topic gets shut down, just wanted to add that I watched yesterday's episode very closely. As another poster stated, they are clearly making use of green screen now, so some characters may not be as close as they appear. It's an approach that makes sense because they will have to use some of the vets (like JZ and LC) at some point in the future. And let's face it, spry as they are Tristan and Finola are no spring chickens either. 🙂

With all Sonny's money and what she got from Jax in the divorce, Carly should be wearing $2600 dresses, not looking like she shops at the local polyester store.

Portia just became head of internal medicine, Finn is infectious diseases, Monica is chief of surgery and a cardiologist,Lucas is the ER doc and the invisible Dr. Navarro is the current OB/GYN. I guess med student TJ covers all the other specialties. No wonder GH is in trouble.

We don't have to see Monica, but it would be nice if someone remembered that she's Jason's mother and mentioned that they called her to tell her about Jason. If they don't want LC to appear, they could say that Monica is away at a convention but she's calling to check on Jason regularly.

Jesus God, what does Sonny do, wander around town telling anyone and everyone about his narcisstic man pain. First he over-shared to baby Donna, now to Brando. I bet he tells the cashier at Whole Foods when they ask how his day is going. When Brando broke out with the tragic story of Smokey the doomed not-good-enough-to-be-a-race horse, and Mo tried to squeeze out a tear, I actually started laughing.

Or heck, this isn't the 80s anymore. We have FaceTime and all those other video chats available. They could easily do the conference route, but then have Jason FaceTime her, so we can still get some LC on our screen. Honestly,, it could also provide a brief moment of entertainment. I just can't imagine Jason knows how to FaceTime and it could be amusing for there to be a scene of one of the kids trying to teach him. Family moments, levity, and LC is safe. All around win.

Oh, I am all for people remembering Monica and including her at times like this, but given the show stupidly forgets to do so when they actually have the actress there, I'm not surprised it's not even on their radar now.

With Matt in prison (for the longest sentence that a person can get for a self defence charge) and Patrick, happily at Berkley with Robin and the kids (and out of the way of the hack writers) we clearly need a new neurosurgeon, especially considering the number of brain injuries that happen in this town.  Jason alone keeps the neuro department in business.

But we just saw her this week, when Cyrus was talking about playing at the hospital and she shut him down.  Was that taped before the shutdown?  Because if not, they could have taped her getting a call about Jason so she'd know.

I was actually ok with him telling Brando, since Brando apparently had a lovely off screen relationship with Uncle Mike.  Though the whole horse back story was a who cares/WTF moment.

All Rise's last episode of the season back in May was after the shutdown and the cast did the entire episode with Zoom, as their characters.  It was weird but interesting.  It can be done and add to the story.

I can see Jason knowing what to do.  But Sonny, I can see him being one of those people, who's mouth is right up to the screen, yelling 'can you see me, why can't you see me".  Then throwing the phone away while yelling betrayal at it.

I'm catching up on episodes that I missed this week and just saw Jason telling Carly that he doesn't have any next of kin (Hello Monica!), and that if he dies without a POA no one will know to turn off the life support. I have a couple of medical POAs and all they do is give me the right to make the decisions for the other person. There is nothing in there about end of life decisions, that's living will territory.

I hope Kelly Monaco can find another job. Sam is such a spineless needy person, it must be soul-sucking to have to play that for the past 3 years.

I know there is a thing called a pandemic but the Carly & Peter interaction is soooo forced. We also know they are an item but still it’s soooo forced. I know FV is doing all he can during a tough time but just throwing them two together ain’t the answer. I don’t even think they have spoken before. If they have I. I gut have missed it. Also KS hair looks awful. I do want to see more of Dante and less of Jason. That said, another “potential” brain injury? That’s what’s the writers came up with during all their time off?

I still don't understand who Brando is, why he must be named that, and what story Molly and TJ #6 supposedly have had with him out of nowhere after years of nothing - but now that a white man comes along, apparently Molly can get some storyline.

With too much time on my hand the other day, I found myself thinking what an interesting character Sam was a zillion years ago (Dead Man's Hand S/L). Con artist and grifter, savvy enough to beat Luke at a grand scam. Then she got gently passed around, from to Jax, to Sonny, to Lucky (IIRC) and then to St. Jaysus, where she became the perpetual Damsel-in-Distress. Not even making her Alexis' daughter could salvage the character. This soap does come up with great characters from time-to-time, it just can't figure out what to do with them.

Nope. Sam went from Mooby to Jaysus; then to Lucky after Liz went to Jaysus when she discovered Lucky cheating on her with Maxie, and Jaysu saw Sam boinking Ric.  Then stuff happened and Sam and Jaysus got back together.

I saw it differently. When Sam first came on the show, there was a big push to make her happen. Her and Jax got a big promo before her first scene ever aired and she got a bunch of rewrites in an attempt to make her look more sympathetic. When Sam was with Jason, it was the first I remember her character being popular. However, I do agree with you that she was hardly a strong, independent woman in that pairing and that relationship is well past it’s expiration date.

She was with Jax first. But your original post stated she went from Mooby to Lucky and then Jaysus. But that was incorrect. She went from Mooby to Jaysus, had a brief fling with Greg Vaughn's Lucky, then back to Jaysus.

Thanks team!  I have a weird feeling KMo is using the pandemic as an escape hatch from GH. There's probably still a lot of opportunities out there for her. For some reason I see her doing well on the CW Network. But I'm really not feeling TempSam, though.

I think acting opportunities might be a bit more difficult to come by during the pandemic. If she didn't capitalize on whatever Dancing with the Stars did for her, I doubt she'll be doing anything now.

Sam in attack dog mode is always so very pleasant, no matter who plays Sam. Those scenes with Brando were cringey and painful to get through. Just fuck the guy already, and let's all move on from this irrational hate you have for him, shall we.

Meanwhile, Valentin is convinced that Sam will give him the children's voting proxy. I hope she is barred from entering the Q mansion after that.

Brando would have been better off going back to Chicago, because seriously, who needs this sort of family. They're a bigger headache than they are worth.

Jason got a new buzz cut, meanwhile Julian has not gone to barber since he married Nelle. Life is hard, man.

Ava is still awesome.

It really is a shame that a stronger actress playing Sam can't alleviate the shitty, shitty writing for her. Berating Brando about Jason's accident without a shred of evidence AND dragging up the Molly stuff was totally unnecessary. She's also an absolute fool for trusting Valentin with her kids' legacy just so she can stay close to Jason, when the alternative was simply playing by the rules of her parole for another year or so. Truly an idiotic and selfish move by her today.

Julian trusting Ava enough to confide his secrets to her was good to see. Julian's hair: it's gonna be a no from me, dawg. And oh, how I've NOT missed Nikolas taking verbal jabs at Ava and cozying up to Liz. The whole situation still sucks.

Since everyone used the word "reputation" 50 times in a row to describe the Cyrus business, looks like I'm going to have to spend the afternoon listening to reputation by Taylor Swift. Thanks for the inspo, GH. Seriously, though, is Jordan being in Cyrus' pocket any worse than her or any other cop showing leeway to Sonny or Jason? They ALL get away with murder, quite literally, so I don't know that it's fair of Curtis to judge Jordan's dealings with Cyrus as inexcusable yet put trust in other members of the mob without issue.

The legacies of her children are now officially less important to Sam than Jason is. Got it. So glad I'm not watching live these days.

And I guess now that Nikolas is back the teensy little fact that Valentin murdered him is bygones.

Oh look, it's Miracle Jason still solving crime by letting Willow's mother know they're on to her even though he's in surgery.

WdV's Covid hair cut actually  makes him look younger and more age appropriate for Nelle.  On the other hand,  Ava's eye make up looks she's been wearing the Green Arrow's mask.

LOL at Ned telling Girl Reporter that  he's not going to tell anything to the person who broke his last business deal.

I had such high hopes that they would be able to fix things with all that time off. But it's still the same old tired storylines propping the pet characters.

I do have to give kudos today's writers for Valentin's  response to Nik scolding him for making a clandestine phone call in public :"Well Nikolas, that's where all the great calls are made."

Or they put them to propping the Corinthos mob. Not even Laura can survive that.

Sam just gets worse and worse, she's so unhinged now she's close to needing CPS called to protect the children from her. Why not just step out of Jason's room for 20 minutes while her parole officer is there?

I guess she's not willing to share Jason with anyone other than Sonny and Carly and their spawn. But there doesn't seem to be anyone she's pleasant to  other than the Corinthii and her mother and sisters.

Sam hasn't even interacted with Nikolas since he got back.

Sam could have easily petitioned the court to allow her to see Jason because this is extreme circumstance. He was in an accident, he might have to get the other half of his brain removed. It's not like she's not allowed to be in the hospital or get direct news from his doctors. And the hospital staff bending over backwards for her is just *eye roll*.

No one will be thanking her for handing over her children's voting proxies until they're fucking 18 years old. But hey, she can have a beer with BL and they can chat about how stupid and selfish they both are.

I wondered the same thing, and arrived at the same conclusion as you. The only he would care is if Valentin got in bed with Cyrus somehow and this guy now has one of his paws in the ELQ pie. But then, there's this whole business with the hospital too.

The vote is coming up about becoming the hospital's bank, going up against Cyrus's bid. I'm assuming Valentin is going to use Dany and Scout's votes for a resounding no on this one.

Wouldn't it be funny if as a first order of business, Cyrus told the hospital to transfer Jason to Mercy?

I still think Jordan should kill Cyrus. Granted, he’d probably have his henchmen kill her or TJ killed but at least he be off her back. Why are these people listening to his drivel. He’s soooo annoying. The actor is good but the character is just roaming around and annoying the shit out of everyone. Doesn’t all of Port Charles own a gun by now? Let’s move on. LOL!!!!

I always found Sam chaotic in those first few years, as if a stone tablet had come down from the mountaintop that Kelly Monaco must happen on one of the remaining ABC soaps. If various personalities and character connections had to be tried to make it so, it would go on as long as it took. All that was certain was that she would be on perpetual front-burner status while they kept throwing things against the wall. The height of the desperation was the introduction of the mentally handicapped brother.

I never really got over my resentment, but I will say that when I felt the character was flailing, which went on for a long time, Monaco was bringing a higher energy level.

Correct me if I"m wrong, but has Sam been on every episode since the temporary recast??? Like, whut?

At this point, I just want Robert to have a FaceTime with Robin--tell her he's going to look for Holly, because she's totally not dead, and have Robin wish him good luck, and that she wishes she could help him.

What? Should I have put this in the wish list? Because it seems that all Pod!Anna! Cares about is hersonhersonherson. Robin, who? Except when Robert brings up her name.
