I'm not sure how I feel about this, but it is a property that lends itself to being reimagined as horror.

It is.  They're just going at it from a horror perspective.

I did too.  I think that's why I don't have a problem giving it the Blumhouse treatment.  Malcolm McDowell's Mr. Roark had a creepy edge to him.

Michael Peña was an...interesting choice.

I was watching the trailer & thought this might be interesting but then at the end... Rated PG-13.  My interest immediately dropped to 0.

It wasn't Fantasy Island, it was Nightmare Island. They could've had a lot of fun with the idea but nope, had to take the easy way out and make it a horror with a shitty backstory.

Seriously? They were all brought together by the bullied girl, to have them killed?? A waste of time, and I hate that the bullied kid gets this sort of story line. I could relate to her - finishing school at home, because I was bullied relentlessly. I have had no inclination to torment anyone like this. She could have just been sad that he was dead, but relieved that his absence had nothing to do with her. He really liked her.
