S07.E02: They Don’t Know

Tania races to meet Syngin at the airport in time for a special arrival; Anna introduces Mursel to her family, and reveals a secret; Emily and Sasha have a tense meeting with his ex-wife; interview allegations prevent Juliana from coming to the U.S.

Okay, so this preview made me extremely uncomfortable.  Should someone sent Mursel a message? Blink twice if he thinks he's there on a bee convention? I have loved someone who spoke a different language, but we've ultimately been able to find SOME form of communication. How in the heck are these two going to make this work? I feel bad for him. 

Michael and the "she's not a prostitute" model...oy vey. Even though she's run up his credit cards and bought a car 3 weeks before she's meant to fly to the US, I still think she came off better than him. I also feel sorry for her. 

Tania can get the fuck out with her rose petals.

i imagine those flower petals would be a slip and fall hazard in an airport.

Sasha seems to be less than honest about why his marriages ended.  Yeah you bulked up and she wanted a puny man.  He’s fit but not really big like a body builder.  I believe wife number one.

Emily said that Sasha left his first wife and a few years later met his second.  First wife said he left her for the second wife. This should go well.  

I felt bad for Mursel as well. BeeWoman did nothing to make him feel welcome while meeting her kids. She just stood there. He may be a simpleton and her kids are a tough crowd.  

Surprising that Michael gave Juliana credit cards so that among other things, she would always have food, and she used one to buy a CAR.  His too tight shirts must be affecting the natural flow to his brains. 

Tania is obnoxious. Dude may have a rough time with basketball head.  She’s awful.  If all your friends and all your family think you’re mean and a handful, you’re probably mean and a handful.

Tania and her friends can't get to the airport on time, and she doesn't even look good. Her hair looked greasy, or she had too much product on it, then she puts it up into a lifeless bun? And that dress; she's a curvy woman who has ignored that with this look, IMO. it isn't even a pretty dress.

This is just so thoughtless and self centered, to keep someone fresh off an international flight waiting, while you set up a sex corner and behave like a teenager.

Also, "babies right away"? Here we go with Tiffany and Ronald again, a couple with no home or sufficient income having a child immediately. Of course.

Goodness Tania’s heavy breathing and squealing at the airport reminded me of Danielle. I hadda mute my tv, I got second hand embarrassment.

And sorry but Julianna is not that pretty. I see much more attractive on college campuses here in the US. Models aren’t always attractive. They’re just tall and gangly for the most part. Pin up models like Dita Von Teese can get it all day long with me, and I’m a straight woman. But at least old dude can say “I’m married to a model”  you know cuz “My wife has a Ph.D in aerospace engineering” wouldn’t be as sexy. 🙄 And the “You’re a poor Brazilian girl when I’m not with you” was beyond disgusting. That’s exactly why you got her, flubber. Cuz a well educated American young lady, from a decent family, would turn up her nose at your midlife crisis butt. 

And the bee lady: Bringing a man into your home with three kids, who can not communicate with them, does not seem like the best idea.... wow. Just wow at the length theses people’s loins lead them.

Robert should get his teeth fixed. I hope he is going to fix his kids’ teeth if they need it. Set up a fund for their braces, Robert.

Doesn’t Anna have a kitchen table? She and Mursel are doomed. They do not know anything about each other. He hates the food, misses Turkey, and doesn’t understand anyone.

The reason Syngin never got flowers before is because most men prefer other gifts.

Listen, I get tanias need for things to be perfect.  I can be that way too. 

But at nearly 30 she should realize how surrounding a public walkway with rose petals is a slip and fall risk.  ESPECIALLY as she sees people walking around with their heavy suitcases stacked on carts that they can't see over.  

What would have happened if someone had fallen?  Is her broke ass going to pay for it?  No.  Would that guy have lost his job? Yes. 

Given her heels, Tanis was the most likely person to slip and fall on those petals.  And she would have sued the shit out of that airport if she had. 

This is not Coming to America and syngin probably hasn't even seen that movie since it's all about black people.

I also think it can't be okay to be in an airport with an open bottle of liquor you brought from home.

I think Julianna is pretty.  I think she is what Evelyn thinks she looks like.  But Evelyn looks like what would happen if a mummy and a skeleton had a baby.....and then you put a wig on that baby. 

Would agree that she is really skinny, but compared to walking skeleton Evelyn she looks healthy.

I would think post-9/11 New York airports especially would have a low tolerance for hijinx.  I was wondering about him dropping his bags so far away and running at her.  I suppose the camera crew provides some cover.

I got the impression they were asking for a grand total.  100k isnt far off if she was able to put a car on his credit card.  

It doesn't sound like he lowered the limit, so she probably treats herself pretty good.  Her teeth look really nice.  Maybe they are naturally straight and white.....or she may be able to afford top level dentistry.

Who goes to someone's home to have a first meal and immediately shit talks the food?

I think that's just kinda rude.  I wouldn't even expect that from Anna's kids if they were in Turkey.  

He also couldn't be bothered to get his own luggage from the car?  Or even help to bring up his own luggage?  Something about that rubs me wrong.  

He also couldn't bring his plate up to the kitchen.  I can understand if he was there for a visit....but he is supposed to be living there forever.....is he never going to do the dishes or bus his plate?

He couldn't even try to play the video game with the kids?  How is he planning on becoming their friend?  Are things going to only be on his terms?,. They can only be friends if the kids want to do things he wants to do?

When Tania was waiting for her man with all those roses and rose petals it made me think of when on It's Always Sunny when Dee reveals to the army guy that she is desert rose.

I think Mursel seems nice so far. I think he knows where he stand with the boys and is hoping it will improve.  I do think it was rude that he complained about the pizza, but we can all understand the idea of missing food you are familiar with. When he was commenting about the scenery just being farmland the age old question popped in my mind. Why don't these people research the areas they are going to?

I almost believed for a second what Sasha said about his wives. First wife, I didn't think she was crazy, but they were probably young and not ready. With the second wife I did believe that it was possible she fell out of love with him, because his body changed and she wasn't attracted to him anymore. However after hearing the first wife talk I believe her.

See,  I was thinking that Juliana needs braces because she’s got gaps between her teeth. 

 I laughed and laughed when Robert said he hoped Juliana would understand budgets and valuing a dollar when she gets to the US.  Robert, no fair dangling the credit cards in front of her to get her to sleep with you and then putting her on a budget.

Bryson is a handful.  The father is trying his best, but Annie will get disgusted.  One bed for the three of them?  Is he kidding?  Instead of sending her money, he should of bought a bed for the kid, or a pull out couch.

Juliana reminds me of Kirlyam from Season One.  Except Kirlyam who is also from Brazil, is more beautiful.  

Something about Marsel seems off.  Anna seems like a nice lady, so I would hate to see her get hurt. 

I have a feeling I am not going to like Syngin.

The rose petals at the airport were rude. Have your party in your own hotel room and leave a really nice tip for the poor person who has to clean that mess. It may seem 'romantic' but not so to the maid. It was childish to blindfold the dude and then present a banner at Times Square.

The she-shed and reality will be a comedown from New York.

Murcel - maybe take some English lessons online or somewhere. You and Anna do not really communicate without an App. You are not endearing yourself to anyone in the family. North Americans do drink socially and you should not have told Anna to not have a drink with her meal.  There is a long, hard road ahead for the two of them. All the secrets - her having kids already, her drinking a bit - will not fly. Anna will also not bee-have all the time. You can only walk on pleasing someone eggshells for a short period of time.

Robert, please buy your son a bed of his own. And cut the hair. I really thought Bryson was a girl a few times. Having a strange woman move in to your very crowded home is not a good idea. Where do you find time for her when the kid is around 24/7. Have a 'door' for him. Spending money on lingerie Anny may not even like was a waste of money. If I was her, I'd be re-evaluating moving there and seeing if I can change my plane ticket or find a way to get money for a return trip back to the Dominican Republic. Robert does not come as advertised and you have been duped.

Emily - listen to the previous wives. They are all not crazy. Look at your dude Sasha - he is not commitment material and you will be part of the ex club in the not so distant future, when he moves on. If Sasha has not worked on himself, he will repeat the pattern and move on to #4 and maybe #5.

Michael - you met Juliana on a yacht somewhere in the Mediterranean. Not a museum or city market. She just wasn't randomly pulled from the usual tourists to be on that yacht, at that party. She was 'working' there. She probably has been trafficked or has worked as an escort. She was there to entertain the guests and if lucky, get some extra cash for some attention. She has issues with getting a tourist visa. A legit model would have a work visa from her employer. She would also have a portfolio, a list of modelling jobs she has held (runways walked, etc., editorial photos, etc.), probably pay slips. You also do not give someone you really don't know all that well access to your credit cards. Or if you do, one card with maybe a $5000 limit. Her buying a car for her family is a massive red flag.

You couldn't advise Juliana to dress like a professional - a skirt suit/pant suit/dress for her immigration interview? You wouldn't think that she may fit a profile of 'working girls' from Brazil or any other more impoverished country? She has passport stamps from her yacht parties - those aren't easy invites to get unless you are some sort of celebrity. Why didn't any celebrity choose her? You are paying for her. Enjoy the girl from Ipanema, because she won't stick around for very long. She just may see you as a way out from 'yachting' until she can find someone a bit more suitable.

I loved the beautiful restaurant they ate at.  An all u can eat deli at a CASINO.  Was that the only place in town to eat?  Anna looks like she’s on another planet or on the Love Boat.  She’s so besotted with him.  Kidding of course about the crummy restaurant.

My thoughts, too - he was spending too much time at the gym. That sort of bodybuilding takes a lot of time and effort. You can tell how selfish he is by his choices. As wife #1 said, he was outta there as soon as he saw #2, and now she's history as well as he pursues the American dream.

I don't think Emily has a clue what she's up against.
