lusinia October 11, 2019 Share October 11, 2019 Love both Abby's and Sunny's prints. (I was afraid Sunny was going to get hot sauce on her sleeve.) I bet Joy's sorry she couldn't be there for a no-Meghan day. Oh, geez. Abby believes the rally was packed. I'm sure they were saying that on Fox, because that's what the president was saying. From MPR News - Quote What he said: “So we have 20,000-plus inside. We set a new record. And we have 25,000 people we still love outside. And close to 100,000 people wanted to come tonight.” The facts: The Target Center can hold roughly 20,000 people, matching what a fire department official said was the capacity for Thursday’s rally. Images of the rally showed some empty seats in the upper portion of the arena, but many people stood on the floor of Target Center. That makes a precise count difficult. And he did not say specifically what record he set. Even if the crowd did top 20,000, that’s happened before at Target Center. A 2017 Timberwolves-Warriors basketball game drew 20,412 and a 2005 U2 concert packed in 20,200. The president’s assertion that 25,000 people were left on the outside is dubious given that an overflow space wasn’t full and reporters on the outside of the arena saw nothing nearing that number. It’s possible that 100,000 people signed up with the campaign to attend, but those RSVPs don’t always translate into attendance. (I wonder how many stayed for all 103 minutes of it,) Sunny wondered why Giuliani hasn't been indicted. She didn't do her research - yesterday the SDNY U.S. Attorney said during a press conference that the investigation is ongoing, and the only reason the Wednesday arrests happened was because Rudy's associates were at the airport with one-way tickets to Vienna, which is why least part of the investigation had to revealed earlier than planned. Did Abby seem to be leaning away from Rand Paul (and did he choose to match the set)? 11 Link to comment

RedheadZombie October 11, 2019 Share October 11, 2019 I read the original post on Reddit regarding the vegan being tricked into eating chicken nuggets, and I have to say . . . I don't blame her. I've been a vegetarian for almost my entire adult life, and I'm not overly surprised that her "friends" would do this to her. OP was drunk and her friends deliberately served her meat, even after she asked - are you sure this is meatless? The poster woke up the next day and her "friends" had posted the entire thing on social media, laughing hysterically that the vegan had eaten meat. She went to the police and told them her food had been tampered with, which is an actual crime. Don't be an asshole and you won't be treated like one. 45 minutes ago, lusinia said: Love both Abby's and Sunny's prints. (I was afraid Sunny was going to get hot sauce on her sleeve.) I'm asking because precision of language matters, especially in public venues such as talk shows on TV. I know the meaning of Cry Wolf (raise a false alarm), Say Uncle (surrender) and Call It A Day (quitting time). Those are three different things, yes? Are you saying that Call Wolf is a blend of dissimilar things? If so, which ones? Google is silent on Call Wolf. Its like calling fire in a theater and its not really true. And if you do it often enough, no one will believe you when it does come true and you have to evacuate the theater. I took your post to be sarcasm because it seemed obvious they bungled the phrase and meant “cry wolf” but say “call wolf”. If you were being sincere, I do apologize. Sometimes it’s hard to discern seriousness from sarcasm on the boards. To answer your question: I think what happens is phrases get mixed up. It’s possible for people to mix up cry wolf and calling foul, which in political terms means to accuse someone wrong, I.e. making an insensitive comment. Link to comment

He must think all of us are too stupid to understand. The difference I. Those countries is that they personally actually get more back for those taxes...healthcare, education, family leave, etc etc. they also understand work/family balance. I know someone from the US whose company sent them there for a couple of years. In the first couple of weeks, they finally came to her and said ‘its 4:30, you have to leave work as it’s family time now’. Imagine that happening here! 1 21 Link to comment
