Love both Abby's and Sunny's prints. (I was afraid Sunny was going to get hot sauce on her sleeve.)

I bet Joy's sorry she couldn't be there for a no-Meghan day.

Oh, geez.  Abby believes the rally was packed.  I'm sure they were saying that on Fox, because that's what the president was saying.

From MPR News -

Quote

What he said: “So we have 20,000-plus inside. We set a new record. And we have 25,000 people we still love outside. And close to 100,000 people wanted to come tonight.”

The facts: The Target Center can hold roughly 20,000 people, matching what a fire department official said was the capacity for Thursday’s rally. Images of the rally showed some empty seats in the upper portion of the arena, but many people stood on the floor of Target Center. That makes a precise count difficult. And he did not say specifically what record he set.

Even if the crowd did top 20,000, that’s happened before at Target Center. A 2017 Timberwolves-Warriors basketball game drew 20,412 and a 2005 U2 concert packed in 20,200.

The president’s assertion that 25,000 people were left on the outside is dubious given that an overflow space wasn’t full and reporters on the outside of the arena saw nothing nearing that number. It’s possible that 100,000 people signed up with the campaign to attend, but those RSVPs don’t always translate into attendance.

(I wonder how many stayed for all 103 minutes of it,)

Sunny wondered why Giuliani hasn't been indicted.  She didn't do her research - yesterday the SDNY U.S. Attorney said during a press conference that the investigation is ongoing, and the only reason the Wednesday arrests happened was because Rudy's associates were at the airport with one-way tickets to Vienna, which is why least part of the investigation had to revealed earlier than planned.

Did Abby seem to be leaning away from Rand Paul (and did he choose to match the set)?

Go Ana!  Hold his feet to the fire and expose his lies.  Apologies to any posters from KY, but I think you all may have the worst two senators - for very different reasons - in Congress!!

I think Ana said something to the effect "don't do that to me now".  Anyone else catch that?

She did say that, but then she said something like, 'Don't mansplain to me', so I thought she might be saying that to Rand Paul.

I read the original post on Reddit regarding the vegan being tricked into eating chicken nuggets, and I have to say . . . I don't blame her.  I've been a vegetarian for almost my entire adult life, and I'm not overly surprised that her "friends" would do this to her.  OP was drunk and her friends deliberately served her meat, even after she asked - are you sure this is meatless?  The poster woke up the next day and her "friends" had posted the entire thing on social media, laughing hysterically that the vegan had eaten meat.  She went to the police and told them her food had been tampered with, which is an actual crime.  Don't be an asshole and you won't be treated like one.

Does anyone believe for a nanosecond that Whoopi talks to people while she’s traveling around in her bus?

Me neither.

Wow. That Rand Paul interview is a clusterfuck. My ears are bleeding. (But thankful Meg’s shrill shrieking isn’t making it worse.)

Dear Sen Paul, Scandinavia is not a country. And stop telling lies.

Hoo boy, Ana is en fuego.

I believe whoopi more than Abby.

Your point is not clear to me. Is "Call Wolf" a new idiom? If so, what is the meaning? I'm asking because precision of language matters, especially in public venues such as talk shows on TV.

I know the meaning of Cry Wolf (raise a false alarm), Say Uncle (surrender) and Call It A Day (quitting time). Those are three different things, yes?

Are you saying that Call Wolf is a blend of dissimilar things? If so, which ones?

Google is silent on Call Wolf.

Its like calling fire in a theater and its not really true.  And if you do it often enough, no one will believe you when it does come true and you have to evacuate the theater.  Hope that doesnt confuse you more.

I am having the director of MUFON in my venue in a couple of months and this is a question I am asking him about (Phoenix lights).

Oh thats awesome!  Can i ask whereabouts?  Im wondering if its close enough for me.  @Natalie68

I beg your pardon?

I took your post to be sarcasm because it seemed obvious they bungled the phrase and meant “cry wolf” but say “call wolf”. If you were being sincere, I do apologize. Sometimes it’s hard to discern seriousness from sarcasm on the boards.

To answer your question: I think what happens is phrases get mixed up. It’s possible for people to mix up cry wolf and calling foul, which in political terms means to accuse someone wrong, I.e. making an insensitive comment.

Rand Paul can STFU. So the top 1% pays 40% of all income tax.  But are they paying as big a percentage of their income as the all the rest of us are?  I make less than $50,000 a  year and I sure as fuck pay income tax.

That was some bullshit right there. Between that and his attitude toward every one of the hosts, ABC should be ashamed for making the ladies put up with that crap. Whoopi hates Sunny. HATES her. She was so loud and nasty during the vegan conversation. I detest her as much as Meghan and Rand.

He was loud and snarky when telling the women to let him speak and then when Ana got in his face he lowered his voice like  he was the one being picked on.  Asshole is too good a word for him.

Did they even say thanks for coming to him or just cut to VRD ?

So now we know why Whoopi is not there on Friday’s  because she doesn’t get pork . That rant was insane.

Whoopi’s sweater appears to be made of same wool and dye lot as the thing sitting on her head.

Loved Ana today!  Hold their feet to the fire.  Someone needs to do this on a daily basis.  He was so condescending...because they’re women??  We know everyone pays taxes in the Scandinavian countries..and quite a bit.  We also know they aren’t socialists as my generation understood the term but are democratic socialists.  He must think all of us are too stupid to understand.  The difference I. Those countries is that they personally actually get more back for those taxes...healthcare, education, family leave, etc etc.  they also understand work/family balance.  I know someone from the US whose company sent them there for a couple of years.  In the first couple of weeks, they finally came to her and said ‘its 4:30, you have to leave work as it’s family time now’.  Imagine that happening here!

Does she  think people will take her more seriously if she dresses this way, akin to her always having her notes and a pen?  Or does she like the dichotomy of presenting herself as prim and proper on tv, and being a gun-shootin', cigar-smokin', hard drinkin' type of gal offscreen?

I'm pretty sure Whoopi said 1968 and Sunny appeared unfamiliar...but moved in to challenge the date.  One year off isn't bad...but Sunny countered with "the 60s."  Can't believe I'm taking Whoopi's side.

No, that's not what happened. Whoopi referenced the case with the wrong year. She said 'that's why the Loving case became the lay of the land in 1968.' Sunny said Loving in a quizzical way in reference to the year. Whoopi said yup. Sunny sipped from her mug; her tell when she's throwing shade at Whoopi or Megan being dumbasses. Then Whoopi said 'HOW ABOUT THE 60S.' The audience laughed and Sunny said okay and laughed. It happens around the five and a half minute mark. https://youtu.be/17vuMSxNOi0?t=327

Sunny is whip-smart. She's not going to be unfamiliar with a landmark case like Loving v. Virginia.

Oh is that what that vegetarian patty segment was about? I couldn't understand what they were talking about, then Sunny pulled out those veggie patties. I was so confused at what was going on. Whoopi is a horrible moderator.

I hated the Rand Paul interview. They didn't let him talk. I get that they don't like the guy, but there should be a little bit more civility in a daytime television interview. Everyone was yelling and shouting. I feel like I never got to hear what he was saying.

Holy crap. Someone needed to take that stupid bell they usually have and shove it in Whoopi’s mouth during that vegetarian segment. What an unpleasant woman! Once again the high and mighty Whoopi feels the need to tell (in this case yell) the rest of us how it ought to be. Shut up! You’re not a fraction as smart as you think you are!

Glad to be reminded!  Sunny called David Letterman's beard WEIRD.  Well, some of us love him and love whatever facial hair he prefers.  That beard always appears clean and well maintained...unlike her skanky ponytail that was referred to here earlier with dried ends.

I agree with every word, but are they actually served food every morning--and only food according to ONE PERSON'S "vegan" demands on Fridays?  Get Sunny her own servings; every caterer would DIE to get that business.

I forgot about Abby's great recent casual look (and doesn't she look fabulous in everything?).  She was casual recently, the day after she wore a beautiful flowing red gown suitable for any Red Carpet.  It's fun to dress Abby.  She can wear anything.  She's probably gracious and kind to the hair and makeup people.

Meghan has said she has to bring her own wardrobe, so I guess she chooses not to go casual.

I will say 😉 , this season when they are having topics that aren't political it feels so... off... awkward... disjointed.  I would be pissed if I was vegan and I was mislead to eat meat. blAbby deflecting like always with the economy/unemployment rate. Maybe she should go back to those diners or other diners and see if those people still feel the same.

I am open to trying new foods but sonny really didn’t  made those vegan patties look appetizing.  Good thing they didn’t mention a brand.  They could have lost a sponsor.

What bugs me as a vegetarian is that it’s always acceptable for meat eaters to mock and openly be grossed out by vegetarian foods to the point where it’s really just rude (I’ve heard “ewwwwwe you’re going to eat that” about tofu one too many times). Meanwhile I’m just minding my own business, never mentioning that I think what they are eating is gross to me. But the majority of the time it gets a bunch of other people going so join in with the “gross I can’t believe you eat that” comments. So I think vegetarians can be a bit sensitive to being mocked and judged all. the. time.

Sorry to hear you have people doing that to you. Sonny was definitely making a face (and I think she squirted on two toppings first). Is trying to reduce the amount of meat I eat, and I'm thankful for vegetarian/vegan recipes and prepared food.
