This was a terrible situation.  I kept trying to understand how they ever started on heroin.  There was mention that they all started separately and didn't realize they were each doing it?  Did anyone pick up on something I missed?  I guess they were around the wrong people.

I know people who have worked in drug counseling. There are only three choices for financing the drug habit: stealing or prostituting or manipulating.  It was no surprise that the oldest sister admitted to prostitution.

I think they will not succeed in rehab unless they are really kept in it for a long time.  I am not sure of whether those affidavits would result in successful criminal prosecutions.

The woman on today's show was full-on insane. If you are really and truly sick, you don't feel like putting on makeup, buying and wearing wigs, decorating your house, etc. I don't know about her claim that she hadn't had a bowel movement in 18 days, but she certainly acted like she was full of shit. I really felt for her sister. My sister and I are estranged due to her being very selfish and self-centered, and I finally had to distance myself from her for my own peace of mind. Anyway, I can't wait to see what happens on the continuation on tomorrow's show.

What angers me is that Dr. Phil labeled her a "hypochondriac" and then spouted off that definition of the "new psychological diagnosis" for hypochondria (which slips my mind at this point what the phrase was). This woman is clearly not a hypochondriac but a drug and attention addict. Which pisses off legitimate hypochondriacs like myself, LOL. I can tell you, any real hypochondriac worth their weight in gold wouldn't be taking all of those pills for fear of a medicinal interaction or drug overdose. One of the biggest signs of hypochondria is not accepting a doctor's diagnosis because you believe they are wrong and not trusting the doctor to prescribe the right medication. This bitch is on 47 different things and pops them all. No wonder she can't shit. Constipation is probably a side effect of half of that medication. Sorry, but I think Phil is way off on this one --- there are probably 1000 different diagnosis for this lady, but hypochondria isn't one of them.

Dr. Phil's new name for hypochondria is Somatic something-or-other. I had a hard time having any sympathy for that woman. I looked at her FB page, and she's posted lots of selfies, pics having dinner out, etc. She has on full makeup, jewelry, hair styled, dressed up, etc. in every single pic. You will never convince me that she is truly physically ill if she feels like wearing makeup and taking selfies. You're right; I think the woman is a narcissist.

She had long manicured nails. I wonder where she gets a manicure during the middle of the night since she claims to sleep all day. I want to validate her feeling of being full of shit. Those of us who work all day and are engaged in life have trouble squeezing in a manicure at any time of the day. I don't think that the PNP Clinic can help with her constipation because it sounds like they are full of shit too.

The real tragedy is what she is going to her teenage son and her daughter. My heart breaks for them.

I did not hear him say she was a hypochondriac at all.  He said she clearly was not.  He said she did have some physical problems but was escalating them and was addicted to being sick. I am sure he went over her medical records carefully.

What he did not say, and I am sure an issue, was too many different doctors giving her meds.

Since we get an edited version I assume he talked to the son at more length about giving up his own life to cater to his mother.  Not signing up for football because he wanted to tend to his mother thinking she was going to die.  Shame on you Dad, for not being there to ensure your son is having a childhood.

So she's borderline Munchausen Syndrome?

I doubt it, that would have become obvious when looking at her medical records.  She is not making herself sick by taking things that create illness.

I doubt it, that would have become obvious when looking at her medical records.  She is not making herself sick by taking things that create illness.

Thus the wording of 'borderline Munchasuen Syndrome:

Factitious disorder

Definition:

By Mayo Clinic Staff

Factitious disorder is a serious mental disorder in which someone deceives others by appearing sick, by purposely getting sick, or by self-injury. Factitious disorder symptoms can range from mild (slight exaggeration of symptoms) to severe (previously called Munchausen syndrome). The person may make up symptoms or even tamper with medical tests to convince others that treatment, such as high-risk surgery, is needed.

A factitious disorder is not the same as inventing medical problems for practical benefit, such as getting out of work or winning a lawsuit. Although people with factitious disorder know they are causing their symptoms or illness, they may not understand the reasons for their behavior.

Factitious disorder is mysterious and hard to treat. However, medical and psychological help are critical for preventing serious injury and even death caused by the self-harm typical of this disorder.

I should have looked up Munchasuen syndrome, because it seems that it seems that the definitions have changed again.  Much like a close family member who was first diagnosed as being autistic, then high-functioning autistic, then Aspergers, and now is considered on the Autistic Spectrum.

It does seem to me that this woman is on the spectrum formally known as Munchausen's.  But her insistance of always appearing at her best also seems to add some Narcissistic Personality Disorder to the mix.  Whatever her eventual diagnosis, I'd never want to live with her.

Dr Phil said several times that she does have some physical problems so there is something there.  Sometimes things don't fall into a tidy diagnosis that medicine would like.  They keep jamming things under random umbrellas.  Fucking cuckoo works for me.

Today's episode with the mom with 9 kids, half of whom she's estranged.  Are the parents siblings??  I'm really sick of the problems rich people have, Shill.  These people look overly groomed and pampered and it's interesting there are no McMansion home filmed scenes. Maybe because vindictive mom won't let them in.

The last episode I saw probably last week had so much Robin I've erased it from my memory.

Um, that kind of hair do and dying and grooming and clothing and jewelry says rich.  Phil doesn't deal with anyone else.  Because Gawd blesses the rich and so forth.

ETA Dad had a fresh haircut and a dye job.  Much better than my my ex who died with no heath care at all in Walker's Wisconsin.

I was reading the list of her medications, and one of those was Lactulose, which is a nasty-tasting super sweet liquid (think Kool-aid with melted lollipops with more sugar) that's prescribed to eliminate toxins, and works by making you poop. And poop. And poop. It's not a long-term medication.

I usually don't get emotional watching dr. Phil but today's show broke my heart. They really need to come together and give the dad some peace.

I felt SO sorry for the man with cancer. His wife is truly unconscionable, heartless, soulless and possibly Satan's daughter. She will make that man's life a living hell until he finally succumbs to cancer. After he dies, those kids should completely wash their hands of their mother, because she's a psychopath and incapable of loving anyone. I wish the man would move into a hospice, that way he could see his kids on his own terms. I don't think I've ever seen a man as afraid of a woman as he was of his wife. That poor, poor fellow.

From today's (Thursday) show:

Todd was adamant about not going back to the rehab in TX. IMO (and I'm in recovery myself so I know a little bit about sobriety) Dr. Phil shouldn't even offer to send him anywhere but back to the same rehab in TX. Why? Because if Todd REALLY wanted to get sober, he would gratefully go ANYWHERE to get help. Todd has more than a drinking problem; he has an ego problem, and ego and sobriety don't mix. I predict that Todd will die drinking.

My fiancé took that medication when he was in liver failure. The toxins are flushed out in bowel movements. If she was really 18 days without a bowel movement she would have a big-time intestinal blockage. I'm not buying that story.

I agree, I think Todd will die drinking. It's pretty obvious being on the show ruined his life.

Is this far-fetched? ... Todd missed the limelight and allthough I think his problem is real his lack of commitment keeps getting him attention. And does anyone else wonder if he is being exploited? Seems to me once Dr. Phil became aware of his relapse wouldn't it be more compassionate to get him back into treatment and then tell the story?

I remember from his first appearance. His  mom mentioned the charity events he was going to introduced him to alcohol apparently it was all free booze.

There is a lot of research to show there is a genetic component to addiction, a propensity.  True or not, no outside influence can "make" you an addict.  Survivor is not to blame.  I do believe he will die from drinking, many do.

My opinion is that he should return to a different kind of rehab, a non AA run facility.  Going back to the same place is not going to help him.  He claimed it was Texas but it was the program there he does not want.  And nothing may work but he may have a shot at it in a different environment.

That is true. I do think think there is some truth to what Dr. Phil said about Todd not knowing what to do with his life after he won Survivor. He won 7 years ago and all he has to his name is a condo. He was pretty young when he won 21 years old so it is kind of surprising he did not go back to school or try to pursue some career. I'm glad he is getting treated for Depression at his new treatment center.

It was interesting to see the follow up on Michelle Knight. She sounds optimistic but seems disconnected. I hope that she has a strong support system and people looking out for her.

I will be taking the short bus to hell for saying Michelle Knight and Robin McGraw in the same post but I just don't want to hear another thing about When Georgia Smiles. I am taking my seat now.

Mama June is a nasty, low-life, lying POS. I hope she loses everything and everybody.

Wow.  Now I can't wait to get home to watch this episode.  If my DVR messes up again, I'll be ill.  :)

My stomach turned when they showed a picture of Mama June with Mark and Alana. I never watched Honey Boo Boo but I hope someone removes that kid from the house before that pervert gets to her since her mother obviously is lying through her teeth and is serving her to him on a silver platter.

Monday's episode disgusted me to my core. I feel for ALL of Mama June's children having a mother like her. After this interview I would hope it would be enough to get the child protective services in her city/county involved. They should have gotten involved way back when Mama June was shown on TV giving Honey Boo Boo that "Go Go Juice". I never watched the show but remember seeing that stuff mentioned and joked about for a long time. She was going on about not taking meds and whatnot today but she came across like she was doped up or something to me, either that or she really is slow as has been speculated by people online.

I think Phil was much kinder to June than he had to be in return for getting the interview--and because she had Pumpkin with her.   It is so clear every time I see Alana this year on appearances that she is absolutely DONE with being interviewed.   June has her schpiel down pat and she will smooth over that behavior but it's obvious.

I think the only one of June's kids who has any chance of not being dragged under by her is Anna--and Anna grew up with her grandmother, and only really was around June when the show started.

Uncle Poodle is spilling the truth today.  Uncle Poodle for the win...I've read that he is going for custody of the kids--and I hope he gets them after all this.

I have been aware of Honey Boo Boo but had never watched a show or the pageant shows from which she emerged but Ma Boo Boo just made my skin crawl and her daughter Pumpkin asking Dr. Phil if he would take his child to meet a convicted sex offender and seeming truly flabbergasted when Dr. Phil said no way in hell would he ever do that. Just disgusting. Poor Alana. Her mom trying to prod her into admiring Dr. Phil's grandchildren and the little girl was just so disengaged and Mama June's grasping at straws about putting Alana back in the pageant grind if only she could afford the $2500.00 dresses. Pathetic.

I predict that Todd will die drinking.

Todd seriously reminds me of Jeff Conaway in Jeff Conaway's later years.

Well, mama June's house of lies just imploded after today's show. If CPS doesn't take those kids, something is seriously wrong with the system.

As for the stepmother that allowed that poor child to be abused, send her to prison and throw away the keys.

How does Dr. Phil manage to find the most repulsive people in America to have as guests on that show? SMDH

I's still left to be seen what Georgia CPS is like when it comes to rescuing abused children, whether they be "celebrities" or just regular children. I'll bet they are on overload.

If I had to believe one of the two (June or Uncle Poodle) I would go with the uncle. And has anyone else noticed how much weight Alana has gained? I'm not bagging on people/children/overweight people; I'm just saying that (although I'm no expert except from childhood experience) sometimes weight gain or loss can be indicative of deeper psychological problems in ones life. I feel bad for the kids. Mama June needs to go drown herself in a hometown buffet and she needs to keep her legs closed.

Link to comment

I read that June said the picture of her the molester and Alana is photoshopped.

She lied.  Poodle said he was in that room with them.  It is a hotel in NC.  Alana was in bed with them, too.  Poodle and his husband went on that trip with them to visit a casino.

I wanted to smack Dr. Phub in the head when he asked the older girl if she orchestrated all of this stuff against her step-grandfather and recruited everyone who testified to back her up including her sister. He asked it in such a smarmy way. I feel so sorry for those girls because it seems like it took so long for them to get justice and that their Mom failed them when she didn't follow through when she first suspected something as did others going by some of the stuff the older girl said.

That was a most disturbing show. There was so much wrong involved it is difficult to pick a starting point. But that old woman was a horrid individual. And the father?! What did he mean about catching that despicable oaf again? AGAIN??? I am surprised those girls can put two words together to tell their story. They had no one on their side ever.

That grandma was disgusting and there's more of her tomorrow.

Just when I thought the granny was as bad as it could get, along comes Sharon (I think that was her name), granny's friend. She thought that everyone from the jury to the granddaughters and everyone in between was conspiring against poor old grandpa. Really? Is this idiot's IQ zero? Honestly, these were 2 of the most uneducated hillbillies that's ever been on the show. If I didn't despise the two of them so much, I would almost feel sorry for them. The best thing, and the ONLY thing, the granddaughters can do is forget that the granny ever existed. The idiot doesn't deserve grandkids. I was ready to slap the living daylights out of granny AND Sharon today.

Funny moment and the high point.  Granny was ducking Phil's question and Sharon finally leans over to her and restates the question to her, prefacing it with 'what he is asking' !  hysterical.

That is his way of covering both guests questions and allegations to ensure everyone understands they have been heard.  The girl knew why he was doing that.  I did not see him as smarmy.
