This is reminding me of when my mother was in the hospital, and then died. People added me on social media, looking for updates. After a while - especially since it was an intensely political year - you could just feel some people wondering how long would socially acceptable to wait, before removing someone who had just had a huge loss.

Sometimes my mouth drops open a bit, at the way people are treating each other, but I’m glad that no one person is absolute devil or angel. They all get to be decent, and also flawed.
