formerlyfreedom September 27, 2019 Share September 27, 2019 Quote Arthur defies local customs, and the choir pays for his rudeness. For Cash's sake, Ginny vows to say nothing bad about Wayne. Airing Thursday, October 3, 2019. Link to comment

Snow Apple October 5, 2019 Share October 5, 2019 The pilot did feel rushed. Maybe they wanted a win in case it gets cancelled. The second episode focused on small town life and the choir is secondary so I guess that's another reason to get a win early, so they can focus on personal stories and not make the show about competition. staphdude October 6, 2019 Share October 6, 2019 If it wasn't for the terrible writing and horrid editing this might be a passable show. 1 Link to comment
tennisgurl October 6, 2019 Share October 6, 2019 I liked the second episode even more than the pilot, it settled things down a lot without having to dump a whole lot of exposition, and focused more on character stuff and the fish out of water jokes, which helps make for a funnier episode. The Fork Fest reminded me so much of the town I grew up in, it was cracking me up! The pig catch is so real! 2 Link to comment

Ms Lark October 8, 2019 Share October 8, 2019 Aww, I hoped the Professor won the pig. Then he took him home and they bonded. So we would have a little pig running around the boathouse (that's what it is, right?) creating havoc. 2 Link to comment
xander874 October 9, 2019 Share October 9, 2019 I enjoy this show. It falls into a lot of the sitcom tropes that other shows do (did anyone not think ex-husband would stand up for her or that BW would "win over" the hearts of the town?) but it's harmless enough and the cast is pretty strong. Both BW and Anna Camp are good and the supporting characters are slowly finding their own. I'll stick with it. Also, Laura Bell Bundy! I was hoping she would get to sing more but it was nice to see her and hope she comes back. I could even see her reluctantly joining the choir after some sex scandal with Twisty the Clown (the preacher) forces her to leave the mega church I assume she is a member of and dating the ex-husband....I think too much. 1 Link to comment
Jillybean October 9, 2019 Share October 9, 2019 (edited) Gave it two eps, but I'm out. This is completely laugh-free, save for the pastor's alternate movie titles in the pilot. Bradley Whitford seems to be a curse for sitcoms, although Trophy Wife absolutely deserved a second season. Edited October 9, 2019 by Jillybean 1 Link to comment

BusyOctober October 16, 2019 Share October 16, 2019 I'm out. Good individual actors, but the story (and accents) are just not selling me. 1 Link to comment
aradia22 November 6, 2019 Share November 6, 2019 It seems weird that the first conflict of the episode was Arthur honking at someone who cut him off. That doesn't seem like a city folk vs. country folk problem. But the reaction of the choir and then Arthur's response were weird. The writers seem to imagine that everyone in Kentucky is a bad/rude driver and people are just expected to deal with it. And they also imagine that the only way Arthur can respond to things is like Dr. Gregory House light without the substance abuse. I perked up seeing Laura Bell Bundy. The characters are not bad but there's an issue in the writers' room. They're all written so shallowly. The actors deserve better. Do people actually know that Macklemore song? Link to comment
