Crowley isn't Lucifer, we met Lucifer/the Devil in S1, Raphael is a possibility but; that would have made him an archangel and, you'd think Michael, Gabriel, or Uriel would have mentioned that...not to say that Gaimen couldn't retcon Crowley to be Raphael but, I'd rather he didn't and,  just let Crowley be a generic fallen angel.

Crowley can't be a generic angel, as he was able to open a high clearance document because they didn't change passwords since the nebula times.

Is anyone following Eurovision this year? I feel like it's getting close but I'm not that excited.

I'm actually quite excited, since I'm going... and I was able to win in the ticketmaster fight and get a ticket to the evening preview for Semi 2.

I also like how this year has so many different options in genres. You can get 5 friends name their top 10, and there will hardly be many similarities. and probably just 1 or two songs in all 5 top 10s. And it's more likely to be Finland than Sweden LOL

I thought the exact same thing! Oh, no! Joe was set up by Kate’s dad to kill Rhys’s secret twin brother…that somehow wasn’t mentioned in his rags to riches biography! What a twist, lol.

I too thought it was a twin, esp since there was a Man in the Iron Mask reference just few episodes before...

  5. ok, I was able to finish the season and I'm angry. Did they cut things out of the first two books - yes. It's expected, books are gazillion pages long. but the way they cut up the third book... the reasoning behind major developments were dropped. so Baldwin just decides to back Diana out of the blue, sure... Benjamin just kidnapped a witch and let her go so she'd run to Sept Tours... uhu

Science and research are dropped, Diana's arrival to her hometown coven is dropped... it's a skeleton of the story without any explanation or development....

also, i might need to go back to seasons 1 and 2, but was TP's American accent ALWAYS that bad? I don't remember being that annoyed at everything she said. might be an accumulated annoyance over the way they castrated the book...

In my mind, we are seeing things through the eyes of people who have never experienced a real winter. If this had seen seen through the eyes of someone from the Midwest, this would have been a lovely winter day with temps in the mid to high 20s and a few flurries. Paul is from Chicago, right?  That’s probably what he saw.

yeah, lol we had this "blizzard" today in Chicago area. I did drive. in my defense I have AWD and I wasn't in labor lol (filling came out, had to get to my dentist). controlled fishtailing on a couple of turns, but nothing major. lol

I guess I can imagine a Texan or Floridian losing their shit in weather like that, but not apocalypse style stuff...   but then again. it's Ryan Murphy, so there's that... lol

Edit: to insert a joke my dad loves to tell when we talk about driving in snow. It's easy to drive on a snowy road, all you need to do is to be alert, watch the road and under no circumstance touch gas pedal, break pedal, or steering wheel.

  8. ok we got it Texas was hit with the storm last year and we need to milk it. But the snow in Texas last year lasted shorter than two episodes of this show...

At least the writers realize how ridiculously they are treating TK and his "frequent flier miles" at the hospital (coma mom joke)

I mean i know southern people don't really know how to handle snowstorms and cold weather, but even they would know that whatever people are wearing in that blizzard isn't gonna last longer than 5 minutes. But suddenly all the major characters are competent winter drivers. or they are stupid and overly confident. 99 out of 100 midwestern drivers  would be like... eehhhh... i'll just stay in, don't really need to give birth THAT badly lol

  9. Just finished it

    Spoiler

So Dan woke up in 1994. 10 days after the fire  how long after the Visser fire was his family home fire? Will he be able to try and save his family? Also… there is a kid Dan in 1994 too… that’s not weird at all lol

1994 isn’t the worst year to go back to. At least in America  play the market  right, get yourself a nice sum of money, and watch the world turn… lol

Im thinking Samuel went back to 1924.  A modern man thrown 100 years back before all the “fun” of the mid 20th century  well at least the Spanish flu is done…

why couldn’t Melody escape through the window with Jess?

  10. Ha! I see i'm not the only one who was wondering if it's suddenly 9-1-1: Friendly Manitoba.

Come on guys. It's not THAT cold lol Paul was referring to his Chicago days, dude. we had lower single digit few weeks ago for days. (i finally closed my windows lol) I guess since all he was wearing was that thin undershirt and it was wet, i'll give it a pass. but still i think it would take more time for him to go into a barely conscious state at the temperatures Texas gives out.

  11. I almost didn't recognize Toby Regbo. Well I did, but i didn't think it was him. I though that it's Toby's younger brother (idk if he has any). How does he look younger than in Reign that finished filming almost 10 years ago!!! what kind of Benjamin Button shit is this?

Will they skip over the whole research thing? with some of the students

    Spoiler

    also being creatures...

also... the email at the end... are thsy not gonna go into the

    Spoiler

    rape

story at all? how are they gonna explain Benjamin's agenda and how genetics supported his "research"

    stop neutering the book!

The shallow part of me is happy the original actor had scheduling issues due to production being delayed due to the pandemic.

    Lol

I do like this actor better. And not only in the shallow way lol

when I was reading the 3rd book, with Baldwin being given a lot more “screen time”, I had hard time imagining the previous actor (almost not a spoiler, but just in case)

    Spoiler

Going through the change and growth that the character went in the book

maybe it was also the problem that to cut on the run time some characters were flattened and neutered a bit, but 3rd book Baldwin shot up my on fave character list. He’s a lot more layered in the book.
Though they really cut on the family time in France so idk how they’re gonna take him on a journey he will have to go on.

Who knows, maybe the previous actor would have nailed it too. I just had hard time seeing it in my head. This guy. Yup. I can totally see the 3rd book Baldwin in him.

  13. I liked the 3rd book the most out of trilogy. The science, the darkness, family and intrigue how everything came together. Fist episode was good. Though…. Uhm… are we just gonna ignore that Baldwin went ahead and got a whole new body for himself? Lol or it was one hell of a diet 😂

I am sad they skipped the rest of the family coming to France and bickering about whether or not to accept Diana…

  15. Unfortunately I was right about source of Dan’s guilt.  And I call bs. That would have been his first second and third thought as a parent dying, leaving a teenage child behind. No way he wouldn’t have worked through that in all those years in “purgatory” he was trying to figure out what was holding him back.

the thing that I MIGHT give the writers a pass on is that it wasn’t only about leaving her behind, it’s about how he felt he was during his life. Not a role model he thought his daughter needed. So at least it’s not the stalest cliche in the book.

    but still. Pretty lazy writing.

im glad Kevin Alejandro got to stick around but they could have written the reason better than the most obvious thing in the universe… apparently to everyone but clueless Dan.

  16. The book acting was super fun!

btw I HOPE that writers are better than making Dan’s guilt about Trixie (abandoning her and stuff). I’m so tired of that cliche and stupid/lazy writing. I don’t remember a show I watched recently where a character spent half the season figuring out smth about worry, or guilt, or… I don’t remember now exactly lol but it was too obvious to anyone that it was about their kid. So I just hope Dan worked through that in the first hour of his thousands of years playing ping pong in hell.

  17. If Lucifer is dead I bet it’s because of Rory. Most likely accidentally, but that’s why Chloe would lie. If a father dies and the relationship was good, no way mom is gonna spare her kid the story. Unless it tarnishes dad’s image in kid’s eyes. But I don’t think this is the case here. Most likely the lie is to spare Rory.

So, I probably shouldn't try to bring logic to a vampire show -- excuse me....angels -- but I find it very difficult to believe that Ali would have been allowed to take communion at all. Obviously, Unholy Bev knew what was up, but as someone who was raised Catholic you can't just take communion if you haven't been confirmed. There is NO WAY a priest -- who wasn't totally batshit...yes, I went there -- would have give Ali communion, and the whispers in the pews....SCANDAL over donuts and blood at the midnight church social if he had dared.

idk, i had first communion at 6 or 7, and was confirmed at 13 o4 14. That's not what bothered me though. but like you said. logic doesn't live here any more. or they established the "new logic" as "whatever Bev spits out by misquoting scriptures goes"

I was raised a catholic but i dont' practice. I go to church on Christmas and Easter, but don't partake in communion... though i did during Easter mass at St. Peter's square in Vatican. But pretty early into the mass i decided to not treat it as a mass (it was mostly in Latin and Italian, and it was tough to follow it even though there was a translation into English in the book (but to me the mass is more natural in Belarusian or Polish, so English was a distraction as well). I was treating the whole thing as experience, and my hang up on "no confession for ages, so no communion" went out of the window.

I'd think that in a NORMAL church people and a "Bev character" most of all would be really guarding the sacrament from non christians, and/or new christians who haven't yet gone through the needed stages of becoming "deserving" of communion...

Id' think that they would have shown us if Ali was at least baptized... or they should have shown us. idk... I know catholic church recognizes baptism from other christian denominations, but a muslim needs to go through that sacrament for sure.

What I don't like is how Riley seems to now be like Father Paul, some sort of vampire creature now. I don't even fully understand what Father Paul is and why he was able to walk in the daylight in the first episode or two but not after.

He didn't complete his transformation. he was still human with a lot of vampire blood in him. So sunlight was ok. After he died and turned fully, it's now a problem.

Those conversations are interminable.  I have to throw in Erin and Riley talking about the afterlife - I kept dozing off.   This show would be so much better if they cut these down, or cut them out.

I guess i'm in the minority. i hang on to every word. it's so heartbreaking how hurt both those characters are and how differently that pain made their outlook. And both are kinda looking forward to death what comes after it for different reasons.

Erin - to never be alone, to always be loved. Riley - to finally have a purpose, even if it's just "worm food". It broke my heart that he is punishing himself so much for a mistake (a huge mistake, don't get me wrong). and the way he is punishing himself. very different from how Joe was punishing himself for shooting Leeza.

I'm not sure if he was poisoned by eating human food. I thought his symptoms and near-death were due to withdrawal from blood, like withdrawal from alcohol--symptoms of the latter include nausea, vomiting, sweating, fever, and the DTs (which can be fatal). It's not clear how long he went without ingesting blood, but serious alcohol withdrawal symptoms can begin 2 days after stopping alchol.

idk the way i saw it that the symptoms were exactly the ones that the dog had after being poisoned.

I feel like Monsignor needed another very dramatic "miracle". the small stuff such as eyesight getting better, or a back not hurting any more are too slow to register. so he killed himself.

my theory is that he didn't complete his transformation. it didn't look like he died in the cave. and maybe in this universe you don't have a timer on you. he ingested a lot of blood, and then it kept coming to him too as part of communion. but he needed to die to become a full vampire. i don't think he realized that when he poisoned himself.

oh it's gonna be fun to watch him try to abstain... i'm assuming a priest of his age (well.... lol) will try to abstain. so another view on addiction.

    ok. on to episode 4.

I really want to know the identity of the vampire that is terrorizing people.  Anybody have any non-spoilery guesses?

i read the third book so i know who it is but i can play this game since i had few guesses before i read it. not gonna tell you if i was right or wrong. just the way my thoughts were back then :)

i though it might be "displaced Matthew". The 21st century Matthew is in Elizabethan London, and the Matthew from those times got swapped in. he's all confused, disoriented and the blood rage took him over.

I was pretty satisfied with that theory so i didn't think on many more. But i had few more just in case lol

For a second i though it was Hubbard. some kind of vendetta, centuries old grudge... why now? idk. it was a thought without much to back it up

then i though it might be another former lover of Matthew egged on by Gerbert.

Or maybe Marcus thought he killed his friend when saving him after a car accident, but  it just "took longer". and now he is a new vampire, all confused, and maybe with a blood rage.
