  1. I'd be pretty sure those sellswords are never going to be mentioned again. The scene was in episode 306. Mel said that she and Arya would meet again.
  2. How? Nobody on the Boltons' side knows anything about it, as far as we know. Arya is rumoured to return to Westeros, but to the Riverlands, not the North.
  3. No, she's his hostage bride who has to do whatever he says or else she faces punishment. The hooker can at least theoretically refuse to do business.
  4. On the subject of the twins, the justification for this whole secret training program was absurd, but that was pretty much expected.
  5. I really don't get what we're meant to think of Caleb. The dynamic with Shelby seems like it's meant to have romantic tension (obviously, since they had sex this week), but he's too whiny and petty to have bad boy charm, which it sometimes seems like they're trying to give him.
  6. Well, if you're going to steal, steal from the best. TV dramas generally downplay the fact that their leads are all atypically attractive, so I was a bit amused that all the media coverage of Alex acknowledges that she looks like a supermodel and includes photoshoot-quality images of her in a swimsuit. Also, the FBI's training sessions are always ridiculous on this show, but this week's undercover mission seems like a great way to get the Bureau sued by that mega-rich corporation. This show remains junk food, but it entertains me with its ridiculousness enough to keep watching.
  7. The ending with Amy was instantly predictable, but I thought the plot was well-executed. Holt seemed much less unflappable than usual this week. Gina's reaction to learning that the guy was Charles' girlfriend's twin brother was hysterical.
  8. The Tyrells hate the Martells; they wouldn't have any interest in allying with them like that. And sure, things could happen while waiting for the marriage with Tommen to be consummated, but those things are really no more or less probable than any number of unfortunate things that could happen while Margaery and Joffrey are married. And as for the Lannisters being able to replace them, the Tyrells are the foremost military and agricultural power on the continent; I don't think that's a concern.
  9. Based on what? The show portrayed her doing that, but in the books we never see anything suggesting she has him under control. She's attracted to her, but he was attracted to Sansa, too.
  10. Alfie Allen was spotted in Belfast yesterday, and one of the comments on this post on his Instagram spoke about meeting him, Sophie and Liam earlier that night. Hanging out isn't conclusive evidence of the three filming together, but I would venture a guess that the filming they were doing may have related to the escape from Winterfell early in the season.
  11. It wasn't really a "rumour", it was something Sophie evidently said to a friend of hers. Evidently something got lost in the communication, though.
  12. Side note, while I was watching the show last night, my mother briefly came in the room. Her main comment on the show was on how amazing Priyanka Chopra's hair was.
  13. This show still has way too many (often silly) mysteries for its own good, but it's fun junk food (unlike Blindspot, which is too dreary to be engaging).
  14. The twist was extremely obvious, so most of the episode didn't do much for me. The Boyz 4 Now video at the end (parodying the Backstreet Boys' "Everybody" video, mainly, though the song the show actually namechecked was "Thriller") was awesome, though.
  15. The sideplot with the Vulture's birthday party didn't really go anywhere all that interesting, but the rest of the episode was fun. Jake and Holt working a case is always a good combination.
  16. Heh, so much about those characters reminded me of them, though Lucille is more like a combo of Jaime and Cersei (she fails to push somebody who knows about their secret to their death, and she even says something akin to "the things I do for love" as part of her rant to Edith at the end). Chastain is far and away the best thing about this movie; her rampage at the end is terrific. The ghosts aren't nearly as scary by comparison. I thought the production design went overboard; the house feels more like a parody of a haunted house, it's just too much.
  17. WOTW: The return of Clive Russell as the Blackfish confirmed.
  18. It's a very pleasant film, well-made in every respect. It never quite becomes a great film, and I think the main reason is that, at the end of the day, there's not all that much to this story. The atmosphere in East Berlin is nice, but the situation Donovan deals with is quite straightforward. Conversely, it can be said to be nice that Spielberg and co. don't amp up the real events into a wholly fictionalized spy thriller. I enjoy movies creating a world with lots of lived-in details, so I liked the aside bit where Hanks' young associate is apparently dating Hanks' teenage(?) daughter, which he seems to be oblivious to.
  19. I mean there would be many other female-line descendants of the Arryns in general, not of Jasper. It's only Jasper's line that is almost exhausted.
  20. No, Harold Hardyng is the only female-line descendant of Jasper Arryn, the current lord's grandfather. There would be (many) others; we don't know who they are, because we don't know anything about the Arryn family tree beyond Jasper. The Royces aren't the Gulltown Arryns; I don't understand what you mean by that. The Gulltown Arryns are a cadet branch that married into the Gulltown merchant class for money.
  21. Yes, they are. But they're only one of several Arryn cadet branches, as well as, one assumes, female-line descendants.
  22. I thought this episode was a lot more tonally consistent than the last one. Parts of this show really make me appreciate how strong some of the cast of Glee really were, because any time Abigail Breslin gets handed one of those signature Murphy-style rants I can't help but imagine Jane Lynch or Naya Rivera doing it. The guy playing Chad was struggling mightily with his big comedic speech this week, but it didn't really connect.
  23. The show could not have continued to function with Matteo remaining kidnapped for any extended period of time, so I thought that they dealt with that development in an efficient and effective manner. Honestly, I sometimes find it hard to write too much about this show. It just consistently clicks.
  24. The camera certainly loves Priyanka Chopra in that swimsuit (with good reason). This week in the FBI's counterproductive training program, apparently you can get reprimanded for following the instructions. That's totally not a terrible message for a school to send when many of its exercises involve risks to the students. Though at the same time, you would think more of them would have realized by now that all of these big tests seem to involve some sort of mind-game with the recruits.
