  1. I can't stand that character and I truly hope he is gone for good!
  2. Yes! This is the best, funniest show that most people don't even know about!! I will be gutted if it's not renewed. Nothing on television makes me laugh so much. And with such a large, interesting mix of characters portrayed by so many talented actors - they have so many possibilities for keeping the storylines fresh and hilarious for many years. Plus the setting is something that hasn't been done to death.
  3. Thanks for watching and posting about it... so I don't have to 😉 watch it! I had a feeling it was going to suck. I appreciate you taking one for the team. 😄
  4. The Sheldon character had one in a Big Bang Theory episode. (I think his younger self had one in the spin-off also, if I'm not mistaken.) I believe it's called a theremin.
  5. I expected to like this, but I really didn't. I kind of hated it, to tell you the truth. And I generally like Dax and Lake. Ed Begley Jr.'s character didn't work for me at all. (I normally like him, too. In fact, he was in the only Modern Family episode I halfway liked this season before I bailed.) I also hated the way the show portrayed the rural Midwesterners - I found it insulting and tone deaf. Then again the NYC folks were idiots, or in the case of the mom, obnoxious... so they didn't fare all that well either. It could have been my mood, but I don't think it was, since I loved (and laughed a lot at) American Housewife and The Kids Are Alright. I will probably give it one more episode just to make sure it's not for me... but I am not optimistic.
  6. Haha! I loved that. I love Pat in every episode, though! William's reaction to Pat's "tickled my butt" comment was perfect. I love him too! And Joey, and Lawrence and pretty much everybody else in this show. (Although I prefer a little less focus on the Timmy character.) Edited to Add: Timmy was quite the jerk in this episode, wasn't he? I was happy when Peggy locked him out. And his "This is the worst thing to happen to anyone, ever!" lament as he slid down the door was hilarious! (So dramatic! Haha.)
  7. I'm assuming it's because the cake was ordered and paid for online... so the owner's policy was for ID to confirm she's giving it to the person who paid for it. I really enjoyed this episode. It was very funny and I liked how the kids' issues were resolved.
  8. Oh definitely. And you would also need to pay income taxes, in addition to property and sales taxes, which in my area would be almost an additional $65,000!
  9. Yeah, she was much more uptight here than she was in the last movie I watched of hers, Royal Matchmaker. I enjoyed it too but, like you, not as much as Love to the Rescue or Snowed Inn Christmas. I also thought it got better as it went along, but some of that may have been because... of the hype. Especially with the two stars announcing its critical claim immediately before the start of the movie. That right there predisposes me to view it more critically. (I always have a more difficult time liking something that I've been told is great, or a classic, and conversely am more apt to enjoy something for which I have low expectations.)
  10. The first half of this episode was broken up a lot - I don't know if it was the broadcast or my cable company. Did anybody else have issues like that? I wish they would rerun this entire series. Maybe this summer? The problem seemed to be resolved by the second half of the episode - I loved what I saw and laughed out loud a bunch of times. I need to watch the whole thing on abc.com tomorrow.
  11. I totally agree with you and found all of that stuff ridiculous. Even what was planted bugged me. I felt like community gardens are normally used for people who don't have their own land (or container garden space) to be able to grow edible plants. I could even see somebody wanting to grow a cutting garden. But planting azaleas and things like that in a raised plot in a community garden was just silly to me. I also didn't like the bickering tomato/pepper people. But with everything that bothered me, I still really liked the lead couple... so even though I already deleted it and won't watch it again... I did get some enjoyment out of it... which was a big step up from last week.
  12. I loved Jordan Bridges in this Christmas movie from 2011 that I watched last year - Holiday Engagement. He was very appealing in that one.
  13. Your post accurately sums up my feelings about True Love Blooms, Irlandesa - especially the bolded part! Sara Rue's character's reaction at the end of the movie was annoying, particularly when she wouldn't let Jordan Bridges' character speak. The rest of it was generally enjoyable though, mostly because I really like the leads. Much better than last week, but yes, not nearly as good as Love to the Rescue. I fast-forwarded through the commercial but caught a sound bite about critics and it seemed to be for next week's movie, which intrigued me, but not enough to go back and check out the commercial... so I'm glad you mentioned it. That is strange. I'm hoping it is another gem like Love to the Rescue.
  14. True. And it's been shown that Sheldon cares for Leonard too. Like when he went to Penny and asked her to please not hurt his friend.
  15. That sounds great to me! I couldn't get through A Brush With Love. It was such a let down after the last two new Hallmark movies. The first 30 minutes felt like 3 hours to me. I didn't particularly like the actor who played Max or the character who seemed kind of stalkerish and unable to take a hint. I stuck it out until the lady in charge of 'curating' the art fair (or whatever it was) disliked Jamie's paintings but then was gushing over her half-finished vision board painting. I just couldn't, anymore. In addition to the far superior recent Hallmark movies Love to the Rescue and Flip That Romance, I had just watched Royal Matchmaker from last year, starring Bethany Joy Lenz and Will Kemp. That movie was very enjoyable and just flew by, in stark opposition to A Brush With Love. To me, Nick Bateman seemed like the generic male-model type that Hallmark often casts as the love interest, but who lack the charm of actors like Michael Rady, Tyler Hynes, Will Kemp or Kristoffer Polaha. I don't know his name, but I even liked the character with the accent better than the lead... or at least I did until I bailed. We didn't see much of the him at that point, but I had been hoping he would be 'the one' instead of the landscape architect. I FFed through the rest of the movie, hoping it might actually take a more interesting turn and not be the same old trope of the woman realizing the man she hates is her one true love... but nope... nothing surprising in this movie.
  16. They have needed to tone down Katie for a long time. And I think her friends have been weird a long time too. (Doris is even worse than Katie and I wouldn't be sad to see her go. They are the worst part of most episodes IMO.) Greg is wonderful and I too would like to see him treated better in general.
  17. Did anybody watch the new episode? I thought it was a good one. It's always great to see Cooper B! I have a huge character-crush on him. His scenes with Oliver were great, and I love his joyful appreciation of Mrs. O and her meatloaf. (All of her recipes are just meat and supermarket seasoning packets!) The actor playing the sad basement-arcade attendant was fantastic. "Fourteen tickettsss. Well dooonnnnne." And the montage at the end killed me. I was glad to see Trip again, too, and he had some funny lines. And Anna-Kat, I know exactly what you meant about men brushing off a suggestion when it comes from a woman, but then all of a sudden it's terrific advice when a man says the same damn thing. I liked Greg's storyline with his new friend too, and Katie being upset because she wanted him to have a friend, not a new best friend.
  18. He liked it!! Also, when Joey was pulling out weeds but Pat kept putting them back in because he was learning to farm! Haha! And his mom was the first female in the world to get a drivers license! He lives in his own little world, doesn't he? 😆 I loved that the cop just bought that Joey was a doctor and let him drive. And that he just confiscated Peggy's license. It was a simpler time. 😉 I laughed out loud at Peggy's warning that if Mike woke up the baby she would beat him to death with the baby. So wrong but so funny! And Frankie practically blacking out in the car when his choices were to rat out his mom or lie. 😆 I was surprised when Joey recited his mother's list of lies, but I liked his reason. And Peggy scrambling to regain control of that situation was hilarious. "That was a tricky one... but we managed to make it to the other side." (Or something like that.) And the alcohol jokes. "Drinking after the test isn't going to help me!" 😆 Okay... that's all that's coming to mind right now, but as usual it was packed with tons of funny lines. I need to watch it again. Edited to Add: OMG, I totally forgot to mention all the Partridge Family stuff. I loved that! It took me a few moments to even realize that was the actor who played Danny. My favorite bits were when he told Timmy to shake the pen and he had to jump and grimace in pain, jump and grimace in pain because his arm was broken. And of course the Lassie thing mentioned above. I also really enjoyed Timmy and William performing the Partridge Family song, as the backdrop for shenanigans. Oh, and Joey's money-making scheme and Peggy getting the underwear back in a plastic bag. "We spent the day paying little girls for hair and underwear." Yikes! 😆 The jokes with the x-ray glasses were funny too! I love the nostalgia.
