  1. Did anybody watch The Road Home for Christmas which premiered on Saturday evening on Lifetime? I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Except for some ridiculous contrivances like having them drive on two lane roads instead of the interstate. Necessary though so they could drive into a snowdrift and get stuck, only to be rescued by a travelling van of carolling nuns.
  2. I recorded what was supposed to be Forever in My Heart last night (the recent movie set in Ireland) and, even though the recording says it's that movie... it's not. It has the Good Witch actress in it and I'm assuming it's actually the movie to which you are referring. I didn't watch it. I was so annoyed I just deleted it. This last minute schedule switching thing is ridiculous!
  3. I just watched my saved recording of A Bramble House Christmas the other day. I love that movie!
  4. I totally agree with everything you wrote (especially the bolded,) and enjoyed this movie much more than I anticipated. (Even with all of the unrealistic aspects.)
  5. Oh totally! It was the silliest thing. If Anna Kat wanted to be environmentally responsible, appealing to the school board/administration - or whoever actually has the power to make those decisions - would be a much more reasonable step to take. And even though it's just a goofy sitcom that I don't take very seriously, it did bug me to some degree that Anna Kat (and the rest of them) were blaming the lunch lady for their own waste like it was her fault. Anna Kat could bring her own lunch from school in a reusable container, or even just bring her own reusable dishware and take it home to wash each day. (Or compostable even.) I bring my own glass storage containers for leftovers whenever I eat out, to avoid those awful styrofoam containers from restaurants which sit in landfills forever. I've been doing that for decades. So it bugged me that they were so quick to blame somebody else instead of considering what changes they could make themselves.
  6. Oh wow! That's right. Thanks for reminding me about that episode. I really hope they do one from each of the other sibling's perspective at some point. That would be so fun!
  7. Oh my gosh, that would be awesome! You know, I may be remembering it wrong... but didn't My So-Called Life have an episode that was narrated by one of the other characters? (The neighbor kid, I think.) IIRC, the switch in perspective was fantastic.
  8. I really liked this episode. Can the next spin-off feature Missy, at any stage of her life? Pretty please? I love that girl, and her "Really? You don't want to thank her in person?" line made me laugh out loud. I wish the writers would give her more to do.
  9. Oh yeah. That was my experience too, and I "checked out" of school very early on because of it.
  10. Huh. I don't care for that song at all. Which makes me sad because I loved Chaley Rose in Nashville, and she has a gorgeous voice.
  11. I thought this episode was better than the pilot, but it still hasn't made me laugh. Which is disappointing because I like my comedies to be funny, and actually make me laugh. I appreciate that Wade is a nice guy and tries to be a good dad though, so that's something.
  12. I have that same issue! I used to watch The Mindy Project though, so I never confused that actress with the one on this show. I like Xosha a lot more, and thought she was hilarious on TMP.
  13. I watched Over the Moon in Love last night, and have mixed feelings about it - mainly because I hated what Jessica's character and the other lead female character did... which put me in a very negative mood for about the first two-thirds of the movie. On the plus side, Jessica's character Brooklyn eventually did finally admit what they were doing and apologized, and everything worked out in the end, in typical Hallmark fashion, which went a ways toward making up for everything that transpired before that. The other big positive for me was Wes Brown, who I had never seen before in anything. He was very attractive and I liked the character he played here. (I'm guessing he might be some sort of real life well-known singer?) I also liked Jessica, in spite of the bad choices her character made in going along with the magazine publisher's daughter's deceit and manipulation. She and Wes sounded great singing together! The magazine person really annoyed me during most of OTMIL, but she turned around at the end, so that took at least some of the edge off my irritation. I'm not sure if I'll watch it again, though.
  14. I'm in the middle of season three. I'm glad Spectrum has made the old episodes available. I'm looking forward to the new season.
  15. Yes, I totally agree with you. That part bugged me a lot.
  16. Huh. I thought she looked a lot better here than she did on The Middle, and looked at least ten years younger to me. I was surprised. (Getting rid of the awful Frankie wig helped.)
  17. Well, they have a great deal on the house they're renting. Katie's two best friends live there. I think it's supposed to be convenient for Greg's work, as far as I can tell. And the kids all have friends there, including Anna-Kat's best friend Franklin. I do not see them upending their lives to move out of Westport. Besides, Katie probably secretly likes it because she gets to complain about the other housewives/moms and feel superior. 😉
  18. The demo, which is the thing that matters, was poor for a CBS new show premiere. It lost a lot of its lead in demo, and shows usually drop a lot after their pilot episode when the folks who only tuned in once out of curiosity (and didn't like it) tune out. Edited to Add: Was this episode available online before the broadcast premiere? If it was, that may help prevent the less than impressive demo ratings from dropping with the second episode. (Or at least maybe not dropping as much.)
  19. It annoyed me too. Not only that, but also because: The woman at the restaurant meets him through an online dating app. It's obvious to her that he's been wearing a wedding ring. She confronts him and he pulls out the ring and tells her that he's not wearing it because his wife died. The woman's response is to suggest skipping dinner and going back immediately to her place instead, presumably for sex... With this man she just met online... Who could just as easily be lying about the dead wife thing after being caught out... This man she doesn't know at all. (It seemed like they were just eating appetizers, so they spent maybe 20 or 30 minutes max together so far.) I thought her sudden proposition for sex with this stranger was totally gross, quite frankly! And way too desperate. So between that and the other woman repeatedly throwing herself at him, the whole pilot just really rubbed me the wrong way. The only thing that saved it for me was the scene at the end with him and his daughters at the restaurant. I haven't decided yet whether I'll tune in for another episode. Ratings were terrible anyway, so I don't think this series will be around very long. It sure got a lot of promotion though.
  20. You're not the only one. I didn't think she was particularly attractive at all, and couldn't understand what the fuss was about. Maybe it was because she kept throwing herself at him? That previous comment made me think of Cougar Town also. I don't care if a show strays from its original premise and name, as long as it's good. (I'm not sure this one will be though.)
  21. Huh. I don't even recall anything other than the first response, so it didn't make much of an impression on me. (Also, I've been watching tons of these short videos the last week, which has probably made me immune to noticing the laughter of a live audience. People laugh out loud at all kinds of things I do not, especially when it's a live performance.) @ctlady - Maybe that's why Patricia was more animated... being back in front of a studio audience filming multi-cam (more like a play) instead of single-cam like The Middle was filmed. Perhaps she's just getting back into the groove of that? I don't know. She had high energy, but I was able to buy that her character was excited and kind of wound up... so it didn't bother me.
  22. So I guess it is filmed in front of a studio audience? If that's the case, I can see them responding like that. I assume that the people who got tickets are fans of Patricia and were excited and there to see her specifically. That kind of thing tends to happen when sitcoms are filmed in front of a studio audience and a beloved sitcom actor who was in multiple successful shows steps on stage for the first time in a series. A recent example that comes to mind is Bob Newhart and The Big Bang Theory. I wouldn't hold an audience's response against the show. YMMV of course.
