When i saw the HOO for the skydiving, I wondered if the Express Pass could have been used for that. I don’t recall Phil saying it had to be used for either a roadblock or detour, just a task. I figure skipping that task would have given them a huge lead. Anybody know about the rules?

The editors keep showing Denise mentioning that she got out the Queen. I think this matters, because I think Denise is trying to get to the final four, not three. She may be the only one that realizes that might be more critical than saying final three. Since at four it’s a fire challenge, getting to there means there’s a chance to get to the final tribal council, and she can plead her case there, which is a pretty good one. she’s worked herself into the dominant group of Tony, Sarah and Ben. She’s more likeable (social game) than Tony, and has done more than Ben or Sarah (out-play). So sitting at four, and either winning immunity, getting picked to go to final, or winning the fire challenge gives her a good chance to win overall. (I’m assuming the next target is Michele, with the EoE returnee going at five since there’s good chance they’ll bring an idol with them.)

It makes sense if they don’t repeat the summary next week. They have to add a player from EoE, to get to six, three immunity challenges, two three tribal councils to get rid of people (including the fire challenge at four) and a final tribal council. It depends how they go into hour three next week, but they had more available time this week in the two hours, it seems.

It was shown last week that Sandra, before raising the flag, told the EoE people how she got played by Denise. So Denise was not telling people anything that wasn’t known to at least some of the players.

Got to finally watch the episode(s) tonight (TAR is back on Sunday! :-) ) I definitely got a hint of dislike towards the Yale team. Wonder if it's similar to the dislike of Vanck & Ashton last season (one or both rubbing the other racers wrong?) And once I saw him with his hat on backwards, and his quick trigger on getting frustrated, I finally realized who he reminded me of. Adam from season six.

Playing the bass drum can definitely cause cuts/bruises. Back in marching band (a year or two ago!) I was asked to play the bass drum instead of clarinet (one, because we had graduated most of the percussion, and two, clarinets are next to worthless on the field other than making the band look bigger.) The first couple of practices, my hands were all beat up from either hitting the drum head or the rim. (Golf gloves did the trick.) That said, Shamir's hands didn't seem too bad, and didn't need medical treatment. I noted that Jessie's pinky finger was bandaged in one shot at either the window washing task or the mat, and IIRC she was on the drum. But all smiles and cheerful attitude even in last place. Definitely the wrong team (or single player) went home.

My read of the statute is that the DS becomes "acting" president, and is only replaced before the end of the term if somebody higher up in the succession order is alive at the time (of the attack in this case) and was unable to become acting president due to injury or other circumstance, and later is able to assume the duties of president. Once all the vacant positions are officially filled (senators appointed, house elected, VP and cabinet members affirmed by the senate) then the succession order goes back to "normal". Regarding people other than the VP who were next in line, after the death of Zachary Taylor, Millard Fillmore became president, and because the President Pro Tempore of the Senate (then next in line) was vacant, the next in line was Speaker Howell Cobb, who was not yet 35. The question remains if Fillmore had died in those two days before a PPT was selected, would somebody else become president immediately and then Cobb have become president after he turned 35 and then was able to fill the role. (Different Succession Acts, though.)

Just saw a promo at the end of Big Bang Theory. Mentioned three tribal councils, which implies a final two. Also teased a "epic twist", which "nobody saw coming" but might be referring to a final two.

Words never expected to be said in a Survivor forum: Terry's (positive) social game creates a major shift in alliances. Regarding Ciera, she looked terrible most of the episode. I believe when they decided to sit somebody out, she said she had to, she was sick. Even being handed the idol after the challenge, she seemed out of it.
