  1. Totally agree about the makeup. I was carded into my early 30s. I hated it at the time but people kept telling me that one day I would appreciate looking younger than my years. At 59 now they are right. I think a lot is genetics as well. A niece is 36 and regularly gets mistaken for a teenager. Recently she was told she looks 12- ha. She has a 7 year old and a 5 year old and the person thought she was their older sister.
  2. Interesting picture as I would have pegged Lisa at mid 30s in it. So I guess she has for the most part always looked older than her biological age. However Lisa at "only 26 years old" was at pretty much the same age as many if not most of our generation had their children. (I am three years older than Lisa). All my friends had their kids anywhere from early 20s to late 20s including if they had two or three in total. Very different time that later generations who often didn't start to have children until their 30s.
  3. LVP is 56, born September 15, 1960. ED is 57, born June 15, 1959. So Eileen is 15 months older than Lisa. And looks years younger. Or should I say Lisa looks years older than her age. I have only been watching for three years, and was shocked when I heard LVP's age as I thought for sure she was in her mid 60s then. In the pic above she would have been about 49 if this is season 7. WTF has she done to herself? She looks old and frumpy, and for the most part looks much heavier in the clothes she chooses to wear than she actually is. She has looked that way as long as I have watched the show. What I don't get is why.
  4. I agree that since he filed for bankruptcy in 2012 then moved into their present house in 2014 they are likely living on credit. Boy George and Culture Club were supposed to play several concerts in Western Canada last month and all were cancelled. The official reason was given as "personal circumstances beyond the bands' control" but most figured that it was due to low ticket sales. I hope the vendors at Dorito's party were paid as if Boy George is KP's only client he may be filing for bankruptcy again. When Erika said that she had been throwing up for two days and someone asked her why I thought she was going to say she was getting ready for a an upcoming show. I was sitting in fascination watching LVP's horrendous hairdo and outfit at Dorito's party. The hairdo reminded me of the 60s beehive look, only worse. Then it came to me. Her hair looked exactly like Mary Richard's hair in the Mary Tyler Moore Show episode where Mary had a cold and has to go to an awards dinner. Her dress was a mess, her face was a mess and her hair had a weird bump on the top that she could not get rid of. But even with how bad Mary looked in that epi, she looked better than LVP did at the party. Despite LVP's claim that she is happy and thriving, I can't remember when I have seen a more unhappy looking and acting Howife. And that is saying a lot.
  5. Thanks for posting that. I know several people who have had surgery for carpal tunnel and their scars are at the wrist and only a few inches long (l have a similar scar but on the side of my wrist for tendonitis) so have never heard of or seen incisions on the forearms for this. Ya learn something every day as the saying goes!
  6. The thing I found odd about the claim that it was possible that the cops transferred Mark's DNA onto the car because they shook his hand and handled his drivers license makes sense for Mark's DNA but not Neal's. Neal had left a half an hour before the boaters found the body, so he was not there to have the police come in contact with his DNA. Maybe there was something else at the scene where Mark was fishing that they touched that Neal touched but seems like that would be a lot of transferred DNA. I wonder though since Neal left Mark if maybe he came across the girl and killed her? And that Mark's DNA got on the car through him, not the cops? In any case I think Mark had lousy representation and deserves another trial for that reason alone. I have to say I did not understand Mark's claim that he could not have killed the girl because he has carpel tunnel syndrome. He then showed scars on his forearm from surgeries for it. But as far as I know carpel tunnel affects the hands and the surgery for it is on the hand, not the forearm. And if he had such a hard time using his hands for anything, how in the world does he hold a fishing rod, not to mention grab it and reel in a fish successfully? So if I were Mark and I got a new trial, I would not use that as part of my defense.
  7. I always wonder when someone is convicted with seemingly little evidence if they jury was presented with facts that we were not given. As it stands with what the viewers were told, there is no way I could have convicted Bob. Too many unanswered questions with the fast food, no gun, missing credit card, red bull can and cigarette in the car. I can't remember - was the cig tested as well for DNA? Was it the same profile as the red bull can DNA? And why would Bob take a credit card? Why not take the cash too if you want it to look like robbery? As for the question above, I think it was a pretty tight timeline between when Anna was seen leaving the university, and when the car went through the Taco Bell drive through, which is why they knew it was her driving. As others have said, I don't see what Anna'a allure was. OTOH most of these men likely felt special to be given attention by her which of course is why she was giving them attention. She certainly appeared to be a 'user', and I am amazed that the old prof kept giving her money. I have little respect for Anna that she was using a married man like this. Yes, it was his choice but I still think it was slutty of her. I wonder why they could not trace the source of the rest of the money. I was falling asleep though parts of the start of the show and was wondering why the friend who was OTT in her interview was wearing clown makeup. Then I heard the part after that she is a former ballerina. Then it all made sense. Apparently she still thinks she is on the stage and needs the type of makeup I would assume she wore when performing. I did get a laugh when she was talking about how she was friends with the movers and shakers of New York. I am not a fan of Josh M. but the look on his face was priceless.
  8. I wish they would interview the pitchers when they leave the den so they can explain why they accepted one dragon's deal over another's, particularily when there are two or more dragons offering what the pitcher asked for. In two cases tonight pitchers chose Manjit when multiple dragons made the same offer. I thought for sure the snow plow guys would go with Jim, given all of his experience with franchising. I'd love to know why they didn't. The blonde lady was as dumb as a box of her rocks not to take Joe's deal. And all the talk of what millenials want - I am so sick of pretentious millenials thinking they are special snowflakes. I have nothing against rocks and even like some, but give me flowers any day over a box with four measly little rocks. And calling it a bouquet doesn't make it so. I also agree with the treemote people that not everyone wants to use their cell for everything. I barely use mine as a phone. I have one tree that has a built in button on the ground to step on to shut off the lights, but the button is so close to the outlet it kind of defeats the purpose. And once we add a few presents under the tree, I am still perching on one foot trying to reach the button. I am going out tomorrow and buying treemotes for my two trees - lol. Edited to add - I bought the two treemotes, and absolutely love them! They even come with battery included which is unusual for products that need batteries. Mr Username and I were laughing that we should ask Martha Stewart (the maker of one of our trees) for a refund of $19.99 since the shut off/on foot button on her tree is pretty much useless. Hubby just had hernia surgery so was not able to reach even the button to turn the lites on/ off, so he is pretty happy with them too. So four thumbs up from two baby boomers.
  9. Ha - Dorito is all I could think of as well when Dorit was introduced. Just what this series needs - another pretentious howife. If her hubby represents Boy George that isn't a ringing endorsement to me that he is successful. Though I do think it is funny that Kyle and George were just on the Apprentice together - where D list celebrities go to die. Speaking of pretentious that was one ugly painting that Tom gave Erika. Yikes. And the ring wasn't much better. OTOH they both prove that money can't buy taste. On the whole though that was one boring premiere. I actually miss Yolanda and would take her over Erika (or Erika Jane) and Dorito. At this point the latest epi of Sister Wives was more stimulating, and I fell asleep during it. If it wasn't for Eileen (and LisaR to a lesser degree) I would not be tuning in.
  10. Yes, I was wondering about that too. The only thing I could come up with was that they didn't want to spoil our surprise and see the ring before the proposal. After all, Tony said this was going to make Mykelti's day. No, her life. I am pretty sure he thought it would make ours, too. When Tony got to the line in his poem where he said "All this could be yours" in my head I finished the sentence with "if the price is right". Then I silently said "No Mykelti! The price is too high! You are throwing your life away!" I am not kidding. Am I the only one who thought for sure that when Tony was holding out the ring box to Mykelti, he was going to fumble and drop it into the canyon? I also wondered if the person who pawned the ring was watching the show thinking "Oh no, I will never get it back now". I think if that person is patient there is a good chance he/she will be able to buy the ring back at the pawn shop within a year or two. I am an optomist that way.
  11. My guess is that it is the police who are limiting what they want the husband to say. I read elsewhere that what was branded on her was a message, not a symbol. But the police will not divulge what the message is, or where it was branded. Maybe she was targeted - cheating and the wife/mother of the guy she was cheating with decided to teach her a lesson? I certainly don't think it was any kind of a hoax - the branding part is pretty OTT for carrying out something like that. And for what gain? I did think it odd that everyone kept calling Sherri a "supermom". While I have no reason to think she isn't a wonderful mother, that phrase to me means a mother who works, often fulltime, while still managing to do for her kids what many SAHMs do. In Sherri's case she was a SAHM who also had daycare for her children so not what I would consider to be a "supermom".
  12. But Tony said no to a backyard wedding, so sadly the cul de sac is out.
  13. We go to Las Vegas almost every January and are lucky enough to pretty much always hit low to mid 70s temperatues. (Except last year where it was colder than where I travelled from in Canada). I hate really hot weather and that is my fav temps. Though I don't understand why Mykelti would want to get married in August when average daytime temp in LV is over 100. I would definitely want to get married inside then!
  14. But Kody already has two goats and a cow. And an ugly bird. I agree with the poster who said the December wedding was already a done deal. Mykelti's reasoning that it would be too cold in December for an outdoor wedding was laughable. Ya live in the desert, sweetie. Millions of people travel to Las Vegas to be married in the winter because they are escaping actual winter weather in other parts of the country. Sheesh. And while Tony saying Kody could take out a home equity loan may have been scripted I have no doubt he meant it. That, and sneering at the idea of a backyard wedding. Not good enough for Fat Tony. Mykelti really is marrying her father, Fat Kody.
  15. I really hope this season isn't going to be endless scenes of all the little details that go into planning a wedding. I found it boring when it was my own wedding, so to sit though planning weddings for however many Brown children might end up getting married this season is not going to happen for me. I had to laugh when Christine whispered that in their church they are not used to planning weddings, because no one is supposed to know they are getting married. I actually whispered back to her "Because you aren't actually getting married, Christine!" Sheesh. So what does Tony actually do for a living? I can't imagine Mykelti's pawn shop job is going to support them. Has anyone ever asked that on the show? That would be the first question I would ask if my kid brought home someone they were serious about. But this gang is so used to not working, I guess it really isn't that important. I laughed when Christine explained how overwhelming busy they all are at planning Madison's wedding. It is just taking up all their time. Apparently there isn't a multi tasker in the entire group. I was ready to throw something at the TV with Kody going on and on about how he and Meri will have to go see Linda the counselor to fix their relationship. He seemed to think she was the only person who could save them. Certainly talking to Meri honestly, one on one seemed out of the question. I just wonder though if Linda is such a miracle worker, why does Kody have 4 unhappy wives? Other than the obvious answer - they are married to Kody.
  16. I don't know why, but I always assumed that the After the Final Rose show was live. I didn't know until they were talking about it on ET Canada last night that it was taped a few weeks ago. So for Jasmine and Kevin to cancel talk show appearances for yesterday morning, it seems like they have been having problems for awhile. They also reported that during production of the ATFR show (I assume they meant taping of it?) Jasmine had to take an hour break during it due to exhaustion? Maybe too emotional after seeing Mikhel? I can't imagine Kevin would have been happy about her reaction, let alone Mommie Dearest. They also showed a clip of Jasmine and Kevin that was not shown during the show where they appear to be having a disagreement and it was closed captioned. But they continued to smile as if nothing was going on. Apparently Jasmine is able to hide her feelings behind a smile which makes me wonder if she was doing that (Kevin as well) through most of their appearance together on the ATFR show.
  17. Yes, there are many reasons why someone stays. Or in this case returns, since Adam was sent away and Sophie moved to another home. Just as something(s) in Adam's past *may* have caused him to turn out as he did, somethings in Sophie's past *may* have contributed to why she returned to Adam. It has nothing to do with victim blaming. Nothing is black and white, and to paint things that way is naive. As a poster upthread said, she would never have let Adam back into her life after the first time he broke into her home. Neither would I. But for whatever reason Sophie did. As far as parents having a blind spot to their own children, Sophie's mother was very clear on Sophie's past. She stated that Sophie entered high school somewhat lost and depressed. She went to councilling. The mother went on to say that she didn't understand how some of that would shift to Sophie's obsession with Adam. As a trained social worker specializing in childhood trauma she had way more tools that most to recognize that. Sophie even tried to commit suicide the first time she was with Adam. So for her mother to say that "I would have done anything to protect her and I wasn't able to" was mind boggling to me. There is no indication that she monitored Sophie at all, even though Sophie lied to her the first time she was with Adam and did not tell her of the abuse in their relationship. Sophie's mother was also quick to allude to Adam's "pain from his childhood". His parents divorced, but his father was still in his life. I thought it odd that nothing was mentioned about Sophie's father. He obviously did not live with them. Is he deceased? Never has been in the picture? Maybe whatever the situation was with Sophie's father contributed to her obsession with Adam, and even her going back to him regardless of what he had done in the past. Again, has nothing to do with victim blaming but may help explain Sophie's actions. And may help prevent other women/girls (and men/boys who are also the victim of abuse) from going down the same path.
  18. The cliffhanger was something that arrived in the mail while Amy was away at her speaking engagement. From what I remember when she opened it she mentioned that it was not good news, and said the same thing to Matt when she went over to see him. However what the information was was not revealed at the end of the episode.
  19. I found it very telling when each of the guys was picking a ring for Jasmine. Mikhel said he didn't think Jasmine would want something flashy, and chose a classic round cut solitaire. Kevin chose the flashiest of rings, and said several times that he wanted Jasmine to know he had picked it out for her. It was more like he wanted his finace to have a big flashy ring because of how it would reflect on him - regardless of the fact he wasn't actually paying for it. Also when Kevin kept saying he gave Jasmine at out and told her to pick Mikhel, it is like he was saving face so that if she did pick Mikhel he could say it is because he gave her the OK to do so. Ugh. Not only did Jasmine not looked all that thrilled to have Kevin's mother there, neither did Kevin. And wow, watching Jasmine's mother in front of Kevin's parents when his mother was talking was very telling. She did not crack a smile. Obviously no love lost between the parents. I also think it must have been pretty hard on Kevin's ego to see how upset Jasmine was in seeing Mikhel for the first time since she broke his heart. I wonder if that had anything to do with the cancelled appearences today? I agree with the above poster - I doubt if they will make it to Christmas.
  20. I don't have a problem with Ben not wanting to get married right away. I don't think a year is a long time to be together - they are still getting to know each other. The thing is, the wedding only came about at this time because they were offered a chance to have their wedding televised, but it had to be done in a very quick timeline. If it was not for that offer they would not be rushing the wedding. Since they said yes to the televised wedding, Ben has been showing quite clearly that he really isn't ready. Lauren has her bridesmaids and dresses picked out, and Ben hasn't even thought about who he wants to ask to stand up with him. Ben was very clear at the group therapy (a truly stupid idea) that he was not ready for a wedding at this time. So I am totally confused as to why at the end he is in a tux, Lauren is in a wedding dress and he is telling her (yet again!) that he is not ready. Why were they both dressed up, and why would he be seeing her in a wedding dress at this time? I think it was a bad idea in general for them to have a reality show so soon into their relationship. I hope they survive and get married at a time that is right for them both. (As much as I don't like Josh and Heather on Million Dollar Listing LA, the maturity they showed in post phoning their wedding for two years seems to have paid off for them). And finally, please get Lace and Grant, and the twins off this show. I have no interest in any of them (OK, I like Grant but if I never see any of the other three I would be quite happy). If there needs to be filler on the show (and apparently there does) get them some new friends.
  21. I don't think so. It was something else (because everyone already knew that) but the show ended before Amy told Matt what was in the mail, so we will have to tune in again to find out. I don't know why people jumped to conclusions and assumed Camerino was trying to stay in the states illegally and not trying to become a citizen? Looks like that is what he has been trying to do. I don't know the process in the states I will admit but it certainly has happened here in Canada where people try for years (and spend thousands of dollars) to be allowed to stay and end up getting deported anyway. I think Camerino should be allowed to stay, and the useless Jer and Odd be deported. I don't know of any country that might want them, but since their whole contribution to society appears to be their useless website, I can't imagine they would be missed.
  22. I was out tonight so didn't get to watch the show as yet. Thought I would come on here as I really don't care who she chose. If she chose Mikhel I would have thought he was too good for her. If she chose Kevin it would be what I expected and frankly who she deserves. Her mother said that is they type she always chooses (and it never works out) and I didn't really see any growth of Jasmine as a person to think she would choose differently this time. I assume they did not announce the new bachelor? I hope it is either Mikhel or Mike. My guess is that by the time they start filming again Jasmine and Kevin will have broken up. Maybe I will be less cynical once I actually watch the show. But I doubt it.
  23. What I got from the whole Shannon/Vicki "she said she said" was that what Shannon told Vicki is what Shannon said on the show tonight. Which is why Kelly said that what Shannon said made sense. Vicki decided to make it into something it wasn't because she wanted to get back at Shannon for dumping her after Brooks' fake cancer scam was exposed. I find it amazing that Vicki is so concerned about Shannon. Yet continued, even as recently as the trip to Irelend to bemoan how much she misses Brooks. Brooks, the guy who pulled her hair. Brooks, the guy who told her son in law he should beat the crap out of her daughter. And I really wish someone had brought up Vicki's new guy's past. The allegations of violence. Heck, they could even have pulled a Vicki and made some stuff up. Just so she could see what it feels like. They are way, way too easy on her.
  24. Does it make me a bad person that I didn't like Sophie or her mother? At all. Not so say that Adam would not have tried to contact Sophie, but SHE is the one who kept talking to their mutual friend asking about him after he goes to live with his grandparents. Who responded to his fake Facebook account, knowing that they are to have no contact via the conditions of his sentencing. And who then for more than a year kept seeing Adam, going to motels with him and friends homes. And WTF was up with her mother? The most shocking thing to me was that this woman is a social worker, specializing in childhood trauma. But she had no idea that her daughter was lying to her for a year and sneaking around with Adam. You would think that someone with her background would be more attuned to her daughter, and after her daughter being assaulted once would be vigilant in making sure that she stays safe. Check her computer? Her phone once in awhile? Nope. Sophie is the perfect kid and can do no wrong. Adam's mother was a tad delusional, but so was Sophie's in my opinion. And for Sophie, when the second time Adam breaks into her room, has the chance twice when her brother and mother both call out to her, STILL doesn't want her mother to know and wants to meet him outside? WTF?? To continue to call this domestic violence was ridiculous. They were NOT domestic partners. She did not have children she was protecting. She did not live with him. And she purposely contacted him against court orders. She does share in some of the blame, like it or not. She did not have to in any way, shape or form have to go back to him in the first place. I also did not have a problem with the judge's ruling. Even the prosecutor was worried that they did not have enough evidence to prove intent to kill. The important thing to me was that the judge got the sentencing right. And no, I don't think it had anything to do with public pressure. She obviously knew he was unbalanced, and made sure that he goes away for a long time.
