  1. Misha Collins behaves as though he needs the money from all his destiel fans, so I doubt he ever stops stirring that pot. Playing castiel for all these years was a good gig for him, largely because of destiel fans. So I don’t blame him. But I do question his authority when it comes to judging anything having to do with Castiel’s feelings toward Dean. He comes across as having ulterior motives. Makes him untrustworthy.
  2. I can’t speak to his motivations, but my reaction to his story was that he has an excellent director’s eye. That scene would not have been nearly as powerful if Dean had been on the ground. Not for me anyway. So I really appreciate that Jensen fought for that view of the scene.
  3. @tessathereaper: Okay. I’m not as invested as you seem to be. I don’t view it as a competition that one of them is “winning”. Jared is just more well-known to general audiences right now. And if chaos machine wants the largest possible ratings for their spn spinoff, they’ll want to attract the general spn audience, not just Jensen fans. I would if I were starting a production company that relies on an spn prequel. I don’t see any need to measure Jensen’s success against anything having to do with the padaleckis. To each his own. Hopefully, the Ackles will move on to projects not involving spn and that may eliminate any perceived competition. I’m done with supernatural in any form. It was a great show, but it’s over, for me. I’d rather see what Chaos would do without using supernatural as a jumping off point.
  4. I doubt it. If he could get high profile interviews, he’d do them. It’s part of his job. Actors don’t generally pass up these kinds of media opportunities.
  5. @BornToDie, Jensen and his wife would have loved to be interviewed by the NYT. Jared is the one with the pull to get it. They need him, he’s moved on. But he’ll still help with PR. The CW loves it and it allows CBS Studios to showcase a lead on one of their new productions. It’s a win/win situation for Jared.
  6. It’ll really test that theory. Maybe that’s why they didn’t tell Padalecki. Free publicity! I think kripke tweeting out that Padalecki was too busy forced a response earlier (and a far more emotional one) than otherwise would’ve happened. He didn’t want it out there that he was just too busy to have anything to do with it. The legacy of supernatural is part of his appeal and kripke speaking on his behalf, giving out false info had to be publicly rebutted. it’s interesting that kripke had no idea that the Ackles kept Padalecki in the dark about the specifics on the reboot. And I completely agree with @Hana Chan that a lot of this can be chalked up to the Ackles’ being newbies at the production business.
  7. Well, if it’s such common knowledge that Jared would react the way he did, it just makes Jensen’s handling of the announcement even more idiotic. He’s got a product to sell. The rollout sucked. ETA: None of this means his business can’t recover, but he screwed up.
  8. Sure there is, if Jensen wanted to create a space for it. It’s his show! So it’s fine that he doesn’t want Sam in the show. But he was nuts if he thought there wouldn’t be any consequences. im curious about how this will play out. A joint statement, maybe?
  9. I think it’ll flop and all the drama will be forgotten. It could be. But Jensen seems pretty invested in continuing to tie himself to Supernatural.
  10. One thing I’m pretty sure of now: it wasn’t Jensen who pulled the plug on supernatural.
  11. Jensen needs new pr people. What a stupid, own-goal he and his wife just pulled. What is their angle with this? Why not just tell Jared before posting it all over social media. It would have taken all of five minutes. Idiots.
  12. I’m not sure it bothers him. Lots of fans think they’re good friends outside of work. Maybe they are? (thanks, @Casseiopeia, for bringing over great social media tidbits for us over the seasons!)
  13. Am I missing a big announcement? I thought Padalecki was going to lead a series that is already in production. Why would he want a guest spot on kripkes show? I suppose for old times sake, but that would be stunt-casting. Nothing he’d audition for, I don’t think. Misha would be smart to get a guest spot on any of Jensen’s future projects because so many of his fans seem to view him through the lens of destiel and cockles. And he was smart to latch onto that ship from the very beginning of his run on supernatural. It was a very good career move for him at the time. I suspect he’ll ride that train until it no longer helps him.
  14. There is no way they were going to give a car to just one of the leads. Never going to happen. Either they would offer the car to both or neither. I don’t see why it’s a big deal. The impala is an iconic symbol of the show. A show which succeeded largely due to the two lead actors. Of course both actors are going to be rewarded. It would be bizarre if they didn’t.
