  1. So Claire was upset that she had teased Jamie because she was jealous - Jealous of Jamie and Laoghaire's intimacy... Right..whatever you have to tell yourself Claire. Yes this seemed odd for the time period. I actually wondered there for a moment if Colum didn't fancy her and this was a semi awkward pass.
  2. I thought that Jamie clearly did all that, in part, to impress Claire / get some more medical tending. He seemed completely crushed when she told him she was leaving.
  3. In, Keeping the faith, the idea that Jenna Elfman would ever fall for Ben Stiller over Ed Norton, ruined it for me. Even in terms of the movie the characters they played put Ed in the lead.
  4. Yes. Not the most earth shattering of movies but a pretty good little slice of life movie. I liked the way there were no real "dramatic gestures" it was just like a slow eventual slide ... that is what happens with me in real life. I am like, I will go for drinks with joe.. no harm in going for drinks with joe again, no harm in just joe and I going to he beach... sure fine, we swam naked what is the big deal... so I kissed him -- it was a peck on the cheek... then like one day you are head over heels and panic stricken because it came in such small intervals. What does the title refer to?
  5. He is in a movie like every 6 months. And he does press on them. I am just sick of seeing him. Also there is usually some controversy that follows his films... such as him playing "Jack Reacher".
  6. Matt Damon. I think it is becuase in his first role in "School Ties" he played a bad guy too well and ever since I just want to punch him. It always feels to me like he is a bad guy and his "act" is that he is a good guy.
  7. Yes I think he is a fine actor and I don't care about his personal life. I appreciate how much effort he puts into his roles / movies and tries to make them good. I suspect that people really don't hate him or his religion, I think it is just that people get sick of actors that are always in their face. Tom should focus more on producing / directing and give the audience a break. Once they had a break I think they would like to see him again.
  8. You know a show has nothing when 1/2 an episode is just scenes to make you wonder if the main character is crazy. I think Aimee bit his hand. Under what circumstances, who knows. I thought when Kevin slept with Nora he was going to wake up with Aimee. Seems the show loves playing with this. Mostly a wasted episode, but glad that Holy Wayne turns out to be a fraud.
  9. American Dreamer. So cute. This housewife is obessed with these novels about some spy named Rebecca Ryan. She wins a "Rebecca Ryan" themed trip to France and while there, gets in a car accident and hits her head. That bump has her believing she is "Rebecca Ryan" and in her deluded state actually does break up a criminal enterprise. Though quite by accident. I used to love this move.
  10. The Legend of Billie Jean not completely stupid but somewhat hard to believe. Particularly liked the way they potrayed the cop in that movie as a pretty decent guy trying to fix the mistake he made early on by not taking things more seriously.
  11. I love Summer School and bonus, you get to see Kirstie Alley when she was thin.
  12. Weighing in late... this episode was actually a good one. Though I was rolling my eyes at the hooker shooting Nora *** see writers try too hard **** the rest of the episode had just the right touch of elements. Nora works for me over Kevin because she clearly has suffered a tragic loss while Kevin seems to be having a much greater reaction to much less. Essentially his story is that his wife left him. I particularly liked the party and the people there making fun of all of the departure related insanity. It wasn't like a glib making fun of it, but more like a weary, come on... we need some fun. I totally would have kissed Mr. "what do you do" just because he made me laugh and smile a lot during the episode. I also liked that Nora joined in. Crazy eyes Wayne drives me crazy. I think it is the actor. So I don't want to believe Nora was cured by him. I just feel like what happened at the conference was that "end point" / "bottom" where she had offically had enough of all of it. And though she will write it off to Wayne and he maybe allowed her to realize her feelings... I think her experiences at the conference really did it. Did you see how upset she got when the nametag was gone? I think on some level she realized how angry she got over someone taking her place of pity. There was like this moment when she was talking to the security guy where she said being a legacy tended to bring a lot of sympathy where like she knew and kind of felt ashamed to know how much she had come to rely on that identity. I do think the show is improving but I am disappointed that I don't think they do have any book or idea about the word they created.
  13. I waited around for this episode for D'art and Constance but overall I was underwelmned. Athos sometimes seems like a serious douche though I liked Ninon being so aggressive and throwing him off. Aramis continues to charm.
  14. Love both the Last Starfighter and Enemy Mine. Anyone remember Gotcha? Anthony Edwards plays a full haired college kid who likes to play this on campus college game where people shoot each other with paintballs... ends up being used by an East German agent Linda Fiorentino on a trip to France and uses his skills on real spy stuff. Really liked that one. Also, Amazon Women on the Moon? Like a skit type movie where the gig is you are supposed to be watching like a 1950 movie during late night tv that has little commerials etc. No matter how many times I watch it, it keeps me entertained. And also Ruthless People "I dare you to kill her"!
  15. Does anyone remember UHF with Weird Al Yankovic? I really liked it and it was notable for an early performance of Michael Richards. He was a stand out in that silly little flick.
  16. On that line does anyone remember The Final Countdown? A modern (well 1982) Navy aircraft carrier in Hawaii is sent back in time to about 1 week before Pearl Harbor. It stared Kirk Douglas and Martin Sheen. There is just one problem with it... you know they can't change history really so you know pretty much how it is going to go. But fun watching a couple of fighers get taken out by modern jets.
  17. Just caught up with this. Another depressing episode. I am staring to think the reason that the 14th people were chosen because they all brought joy to the world and the leftovers are all people who being the world down into depressing despair. No one wants a downer. Liked Nora and Kevin's chat. Interesting that Kevin wasn't Tommy's dad. I thought from the start that Amy Brennaman was too old to be Kevin's wife but seems like their marrage was a little outside the norm.
  18. I do not get Scent of a Woman. Apparently Charlie witnesses who commited an act of vandlism and refuses to tell on them...and somehow this is a good thing? It is integrity? So it is a good thing to protect rich boys who have destroyed someone's property? So if tomorrow those same rich brats kill someone will then it also be integrity for Charlie to say nothing? Do not get!!
  19. If you are a woman and you meet a man that is rude to you, dismissive, or otherwise quiet and disagreeable, he is doing these things because he loves you.
  20. Speaking of early Matt Dillon, I enjoyed "Tex". Based on and SE Hinton book, just a sweet slice of life move where Matt plays just a really likeable kid just dealing with his life.
  21. I am starting to lose interest myself. I don't think it helps that I find the actress to be completely wrong for the part. She is too large for the actor playing D'Artanian and I have trouble really seeing him attracted to her. Then add on the fact that she is constantly upset about something... what a harpy. Then, on top of that, she is married and still perfectly happy to act like D'Art is her boyfriend -- but, still walks around constantly reminding everyone she is a married lady. Finally, I don't get a ton of chemistry either.
  22. Yes I think now that there is something else to watch I will watch that. It isn't as if I can't find reruns of this show on literally 8 times per day on one of the HBO stations.
  23. Life of Pi (because I didn't read the book) when it becomes obvious what really happened out there on the ocean and who Richard Parker really was.
  24. Most every scene in the Lover but mostly the one where they are in the car at the start.
  25. I find this the last nail in an untalented set of writers. Hacks always go for weird dreams to try and tell a story. What is more annoying is that it is only the Chief who is having the strange dreams... which says they are not trying to say that there is some bigger event sill going on disturbing others... one reason why the vanishing is still *with* everyone so much. Also, anyone else find the opening credits insanely uncreative? From a network with the Sopranos, 6 Feet Under, and True Blood... we get that? Which btw was even more of a fail because it was a painting of the rapture which this is not supposed to be?
