  1. I actually thought that this was the weakest episode by far. Some of the scenes got draggy, e.g. the theatre scene with Caliban running around. I wanted to fast forward so badly. Plus the "like a son" comment from Malcolm to Victor was completely random. I thought the Ethan/Dorian thing was good on paper, but I don't think they executed it well. In episode 2, Dorian's pull was showcased much better with the music and pacing. Here it just felt off and a bit random. I get that Ethan was upset over Brona, very drunk from the absinthe (which I bet Dorian barely drank), and overwhelmed by all the developments in his life, and on top of that Dorian is basically turning up "Dorian pull" - but while I appreciated what they were trying to do, the whole thing fell a bit flat for me. Dorian is definitely getting bored with his life. He was basically throwing around the fact that he wasn't human with Ethan, too bad Ethan was too distracted to figure it out. I like Dorian and Vanessa together, but I hope there is a point to her infatuation with him. Vanessa is extremely acute when it comes to sensing the supernatural, so it is completely unnatural that she has not yet noticed that Dorian isn't normal or even a human. I hope the show has a good explanation for this. Or is it just that she's drawn to him like everyone else?
  2. Yes, I did sense resentment from Proteus as he began to remember his wife and question his own existence. This is probably Victor's future storyline: grappling with the ramifications (both practical and moral) of bringing people back to life. As of now, it's his quest for the truth that he's concerned with, but he's got to face the consequences - even if he manages to create a sweet being like Proteus, if it becomes unstable and begins killing for instance, then what would Victor do? Create some more in the hope of perfecting the revival technique? Because that seemed to be what happened after Caliban's horrific revival. I wonder if Victor would try to bring Proteus back to life again but this time, he becomes a much more warped being.
  3. Rather than being a werewolf, someone on tumblr raised the idea that Ethan may be some depiction of the Norse god Tyr. I know next to nothing about Norse mythology except that he placed his hand in the mouth of Fenrir, a wolf, as a sign of good faith while Fenrir was being captured (tricking Fenrir I think). You guys can read about it here.
  4. I'm kind of the opposite. I felt really sorry for Caliban and thought Victor was being a dick (Caliban killing poor Proteus aside LOL). I didn't think of Brona being the bride at all. Interesting. Victor's storyline was by far my favourite through the first three episodes, but I agree with @ganesh. I hope it won't take too much away from the main plot (i.e. finding Mina) as we move forward. I liked Victor's snark with Ethan so hope we see more of them together. The young boy confused me though. What is he supposed to be? A vampire? I don't even know what he was eating except seeing fur.
  5. I absolutely adore Frankenstein's storyline also. I was really sad to see Proteus go because their relationship was very sweet, but not sure if he'll be back. I suppose something that sweet can't last on a show like this. I did wonder at Victor's revulsion to Caliban though. I do understand that Victor was all shaken up after Proteus's death but dude, treating him like that is not gonna make the situation any better. I think that if Victor just treated Caliban with kindness, the latter wouldn't bear so much hatred and anger towards him. Excited to see where his storyline goes nonetheless.
  6. I only ask that his hairstyle be changed. Besides that, excited to see him back on the show again! Not sure where Vanessa's fascination with him is going, or if he's going to share a storyline with Brona instead.
