  1. I loved Ryan! Still maintain that he did not get nearly enough attention from the judges his season. He made all of his partners look even better than they were. Glad to hear Franc/Jean-Marc are still married! I was a little worried. Would love it if she could pop in this season.
  2. I think a lot of the criticism of Jensen could have applied to Lindsey (to a lesser degree) and certainly Witney on their season too. I love Lindsey now, she has had a chance to mature - but I remember her not being one of mt favorites during her season (not that she was bad by any means). I'll give Jensen a chance to settle in. I do agree that she probably would not have been cast if she wasn't related. And yes, Nigel is gross. (Like, how the fuck is a dance to Exes & Ohs not supposed to be overtly sexual?) Bus, meet Chelsea. She handled being thrown a entirely different skill ( to a terrible rendition of a classic) like a pro. I hope she sticks around. (I actually thought that color looked beautiful on her in the tap routine). At least Twitch mentioned that this hasn't been done (which, seriously F-off show). Save the tap for the special stuff (like Nick & Jess in season or the Season 8 finale w/ those 2 and Matt Flint. P.S. I will talk about Jess whenever I can) I admit that I wanted Nate, but Slavik was fantastic. Gennesy - less so. (I would have taken Emily over Gennesy) Loving Magda and Darius. Slight shades of Anya/Danny. Darius was my guy coming off of last week - nothing has changed from that. Jury is still out for the girls. Maybe Magda - I like my lady dancers with a little bit of maturity. Really wish we could of had a top 20. Sigh, I'll take what I can get I guess. But this going to be blood bath. Good things: Starting out with the contestants as partners Cat Twitch The stage looks a tiny, tiny bit more like the original one. Cole's back piece - I would watch that man dance with his shirt off forever. Cat ("Go arm wrestle or draw straws." She even makes nonsense delightful. Questions to ponder: How can such a creeper (Nigel) be the same man that has steered this show, one I love ( despite all of the valid issues we have with it)through some very rough waters? It is a moral dilemma. What happened to Jean Marc's wife? I miss her and her very red hair. Will we ever see a choreographer like Wade again? Is Vanessa what we have to deal with (for a younger demo appeal) for the shows survival?
  3. Oh man. So glad this is back! The Better Off Ted links continue to warm my heart (and make me sad again). Ramona is getting a larger part! Win. I continue to love, love, love Eric- especially his running zombie commentary. AS I said last season, zombie looks good on Drew - she is stunning in this show. Love the morgue attendant - I hope he continues to show up. This episodes favorite quotes (there are a lot this episode): "I just wanted your vomit, why'd you have to make it weird?" “She likes that store Debbie and Debbie’s, but you have to ask for tall Debbie because white Debbie is a c*nt.” "Stop chewing the post, it holds up the whole fucking house." Really, that was all about Abby's delivery. "Why do they tease us with such tiny amounts of juice?!?! Who wins this game?" "Abby Hammond, taking charge, kicking ass, and talking to nobody!" "We all just do the best we can, except for Leslie the cashier. She's become a problem"
  4. I don't know why- but the eyelid on the light made me laugh so hard. Hammer Knife!!!! Some of this episodes favorite quotes: "Mom loves fingers, but she says the thumbs are like the ends of bread..." "One was is correct and one way is profoundly ignorant" "If the Wright Brother's had a daughter like you, we would have never have conquered the sky!"
  5. That's what I thought. So what's worse, there was no dramatic tension in that scene at all then.
  6. Do you know what is painful? When I start the show on Hulu, the bump is still a image of Emma using her powers. It would be (marginally) easier for me to try and give this a fair chance as a new(ish) show if I was not visibly reminded of what is no longer here every. damn. time. I have not had a chance to read the previous comments yet, so please forgive me if I am being redundant. Cinderella and Tiana had more chemistry in that 5 second rescue in the beginning fairyback and roomie bonding session than Cinder and Henry have had in any interaction. So, is Henry the Author still? Even if he does not remember it right now. Research should be his jam! And Jacinda, writers traditionally love bars. You should not be surprised to see him there. I cannot tell if Henry actually saying "Honestly, from one storyteller to another it just kind of seems..." was TWTS thinking they are so clever! The irony inherent in that statement does not go away because your write something being hidden underground. It is derivative - not a good use of a parallel. There is a difference. And just handwaving the history of the Seattle Underground is just kind of shitty. That place is rich for fairly tale development and they are just like - "oh, it just like the mines in S1, so cool!" Blerg. And where the F is Alice? She is like the only semi-interesting "new" character they brought in- and she is completely MIA There is no way Regina didn't protect Henry's heart - just absolutely now way. This would be a great time for her to act like the Evil (if reformed) Queen who commands a shit ton of magic and school all these bitches. I am digging Lana's hair in the fairybacks. So was the cemetery the curse reacting to Henry's softening? I guess Dreads-punzle is kind of interesting?
  7. Chuck's demand for RC Cola only had me in stitches (mainly because I love RC) Portia having a different dress every scene and calling out Kanye was amazing! I wish that they would even Carol out a little bit more. With everything they show about her - I don't blame Katie one bit for freaking out and still empathize more with her. I like the casting for the guests.
  8. We actually got standby tickets to last nights taping and made it in! Pretty sure that's because the Cubs were playing! Michelle miming the wall of dicks was hilarious. We actually had to film her entrance twice (we did it near the end of the taping) During the "commercial breaks" Trevor remained on stage unless they were prepping the set and continued talking to us. Trey, the kid they featured in YCA clip the was in the audience. It was super fun! I did have to watch the show- because you could not hear anything when we were cheering.
  9. It was delightful seeing Trixie and Maze! But also - fugitive guy's lawyer was Jo Lupo!
  10. Which means it was real, right? And Regina killed Snow & Charming...And that there is another crazy Rumple out there somewhere. I am actually ok that this is not our Hook - but that also means I have no emotional investment in him either. I actually like Roni so far. That's something.
  11. My thoughts as I watched live tonight: That’s not how this works- that’s not how any of this works is what is happening in my inner monologue.. That bottle would have been real convenient about one million times before. Who just makes a ballet recital a charity function at the drop of the hat? How is Henry in love with Cinderella- it’s been like maybe 24 hours. What do Regina & Hook use as overnight moisturizer? Kinda love Weaver’s accent. Jacinda is super irritating. Hook lookin’ fine AF in those jeans and Oh - the return of old drunk Hook. Why show? Why? Wait- really show? This is what you thought we wanted? I can’t. You can’t just wave a wand if you don’t know magic. That’s not this works! Also, how many people called this scenario- of the another Hook? Come the F on. This Rogers/Weave situation is doing nothing for me. I like Tiana, so that’s something. Hearing about the characters we are not seeing is not fun. Hook would never suggest they go home like that - nor would Regina put up with it. Hi Emma! How did you get here? CS baby! Although the image of her fighting off a gaggle of baby dragons is funny. 36 min in and not much happening- so that’s the same. Really Victoria, you can’t deal with him being a bartender for like a few hours. You are making a huge deal out of this (unless she like Regina before her knows who they all are- which boring). So there is a weird half-sister type situation now too? And our Hook will undoubtedly have a complex about this now. (Calling Alice as the daughter) “No- you don’t have a warrant” is a really easy thing to say. This is supposed to be the “real” world. But nice to know that Rogers is good people. There is the glimpse of Rumple I was waiting for. So our Hook is off in Storybrook and we have old drunk hook w/ a new face in Seattle? And Regina just abdicated as mayor? And we will never see that CS baby? We are watching CSI: Ever After then? I just don’t know if I can do this guys.
  12. So many quotable lines: "There's someone out there breeding dolphins and poodles. Dolphoodles. His name is Kevin and he bites fingers because he thinks they are baby corn." - Andrew "The French are full of shit and your mother is a woman on the decline" - Connie "This kid might be a fucking genius" - Maurice Really - there are so many more.
  13. We binged this last weekend to - and loved every freaking second of it. Like had to pause on multiple episodes because we were laughing so hard. Which is even funnier because they directly reference this in one of the later episodes. Frankly, it deals with a subject we all have in common and treats it really respectfully- if hysterically. Demystifying puberty is the best way to get through it. This is a great way to help parents think about how to talk to their kids. The Hormone Monsters are amazing. Maya just killed it as Connie. I sincerely hope we get a second season.
  14. Is there an unwritten rule on tv that means anytime they show someone sweeping they have to be doing an absolute crap job at it? So I didn't hate it, hate it...but I can't say I liked it. Jacinda/Cinderella is not someone I empathize with at all yet and Henry is still a dolt. Being set in the real world makes it really hard to hand wave. Victoria is a developer - she would not handle the actual purchase of a property it would go through lawyers, the police being that blatant about being in her pocket is highly questionable because there are real people in that neighborhood who would have not problem speaking to the people they vote for, the whole custody thing is insane (you can't just say she is coming to live with me- that is not how that works). Overall it is just lacking - it is missing that magic the original pilot had. Having said that I am actually interested to see what they do with Officer Rodgers, Weaver, and how Alice fits in. I did crack up at the frog legs comment from Tianna.
  15. This weeks episode had me in stitches. First - Chris Parnell always makes everything better. I loved the feud with Dianna & Portia - Tina and Nicole played off each other really well. The music video had me dying- especially when Chuck joined in. I like the Katie & Greg interactions. It is a fun, silly little show.
  16. Watched the first episode on Hulu's (new, terrible, horrible, awful platform). It is pretty much delicious, cheesy fun. I really like Adam & Craig's chemistry. DH does not think it will last long but we really hope it does. It was totally enjoyable for what it is. Bonus points for Higher Love. A few fun quotes from the episode: "Watch your face." "What does that even mean?" "We are frightened, we are very, very frightened." "Want to go to an independent coffee house and talk it out." "We all scared of something. I'm scared of ducks. Don't want to talk about it"
  17. I was so happy with the stage and the fact that Wade was back that I am just dealing with the rest of it. I would love to see Mark Kenamura back to do some choreo (especially if we can get something like "I am the best" which was the first time I understood Jenna's appeal) Love Fik & Dassy together. So happy to see him happy after the debacle of World of Dance. I thought Lex was charming AF. I am a little disappointed he is with Gabby so I do hope they switch it up during the season. I say it every time I see her, but Comfot is just aging like a fine wine. Like, I liked her a lot on her season but now she makes me question my sexuality. It is not even about her looks - there is a maturity about her now that is so appealing. I liked her & Mark together a lot. Loved Jasmine & Robert. I love the personality he threw into that dance. It was super entertaining.
  18. Production is still too much but I think I just have to get over that. I hate the Leaderboard and I really don't like how they are doing the cuts. Also, cut back on some of the filler and get through 2 whole groups in one episode. It is stupid they are splitting up the Team category over the 2 weeks. Of Swing Latino's performances - that was my personal favorite and I'm glad the sequins were gone. But I'm still not that crazy about them. They are just too frenetic - if they slowed things up by even a fraction a lot of the stuff they do together would look so much better. Stuff that should be in synch is not right now - because they are going so fast.
  19. So despite all of the obvious flaws that SYTYCD has - watching this concurrently really makes me happy it is back. As likable as I find Jenna - she is no Cat Deeley. I really do not like this head to head set up. And it is just so produced. Having said that - I am happy it is on because I like seeing some of the dancers I've loved watching in the past and being exposed to new dancers. What I don't like is Fik-shun - he is missing some of the joy he used to dance with. I don't know if it is just him being older or the show - but it makes me sad. I was so-so on both of the big Latino dance groups in their auditions. This time around though: Swing Latino is so frenetic that it just looks sloppy to me. Miami All Stars just felt like a better performance - they should have moved on. I really enjoyed Kyntay - they a little powerhouses and (about to sound like an old lady) still age appropriate. I probably would have enjoyed Eva more with a different song choice. Agreed, that she was going forward no matter what though. I really love watching Keonie and Mari - they just tell beautiful stories without being on the nose. I think Quick Style came own to musical choice for me again. A different song may have made me feel differently about it but I think the right group won this one.
  20. Wow. Kristen Chenoweth is painfully beautiful in this. I don't think they could have chosen a more perfect actress for Easter. That whole last scene with her was breathtaking. I'm so happy we got to see Mr. Nancy again too! And the gaggle of Jesus' was fantastic. Mad Sweeney is breaking my heart. When is the next season coming? Because I want more now. This show is just beyond entertaining.
  21. That was just a supremely beautiful episode. I was entranced - like my husband tried to have a conversation with me and I didn't even register that he was in the room. The music was on point, the shots were beautiful (as usual), the costumes were fantastic, and my lord I love Mad Sweeney. Also, Emily was fantastic this episode. I loved Ibis' narration on this story so much - I think he is up there with someone I would want to just narrate everything (along with Morgan Freeman, David Attenborough, and a few others). This particular story was just so well done. Loved Salim's retort to Mad - "You are a very unpleasant creature." I would love a spin-off of those 3 on a true cross-country road trip. I think this might actually be my favorite episode so far - which is just so surprising.
  22. That episode flew by! I love Audrey. Like super love her. The actress is killing it. The whole bathroom scene was amazing. Mr. Jacquel and Mr. Ibis are fantastic. Next week looks awesome.
  23. My God (Ha!) - this show is just so beautiful. That whole opening scene was stunning. The rain during the chess match, the marshmallow/snow scene, the Ifrit sex scene. Just gorgeous. I personally love the vignettes - I like all the little asides and peaks we get into the wider world of the story. "Yeah- I like marshmallows." Love, love, love how exasperated Shadow is with all of this. This is a show that flies by for me - and I always want the next episode now, so for me Fuller & Co. are doing a fantastic job so far.
  24. I liked it - for the sheer novelty of it. But TSTW - nothing happened for 50 minutes. We got as little wedding as possible. I just do not understand that at all (I mean I do, but it is still so frustrating).
  25. Where did all of these people come from? I am glad they actually got married though. Did not know if we would actually get through it. Oh, right the 6:00 Curse.
