I've even done a panel with Diana at an historical writers conference (I write history-mysteries as well as contemp mysteries). The panel was on...what was it on again?...oh, yeah, Sex (in our books). So I should have gotten the answer right, right? Nope. I didn't know what a damnfool Möbius was. As for Wheaties, piece of cake...I mean piece of 100% Whole Wheat. I have an unopened box with the Denver Broncos on the front. The John Elway Broncos, not the Peyton Manning Broncos.

Me, too, although the mystery I'm writing now is called Toe of Frog: the Da Vinci Toad.

One of my granddaughters is Prudence, named for the Beatles song (her brother is Jude). When she was born, I called her Pru-Bear. That evolved into Bear. At 7 Bear was reading The Hunger Games. I expect to see her on Jeopardy! some day.

I haven't visited the Forum for a while, so I was happy to see that fans like Ryan...whew. Because Mr. Author and I like him a lot and hope he keeps winning. Or am I jinxing him? Rats! Lose, Ryan, lose <wink-wink>

Okay, I get that, honest. But I think, for the most part, it's due to nerves (yes, even Mattea). If I were lucky enough to be on the show, I know for a fact I'd blather. Writing requires a loner's temperament, a high tolerance for silence, and an unhealthy preference for the company of people who are imaginary or dead. So when I'm released from my office and my computer, I'm fairly certain I bore the living daylights out of anybody who stands close to me. I release some of that pent-up preference for imaginary or dead people by doing theatre,

I don't get it. Seems a lot of people watch the players rather than the games (clues-board). And if people don't like a player who waves her hands around or says "What's" instead of "Who's," they won't watch. I'll admit that voices get to me at times, but I'd never consider not watching. Because I play along. Unanswered or missed questions might make me feel old, but I'm firmly convinced that playing along every night keeps me young. To me, learning new things in various categories is like taking a college course in trivia Am I the only one who feels this way?

I rode in a hotel elevator --at a writers conference-- with Walter Mosley, author of Easy Rawlins. I was so awestruck I couldn't say anything until we reached the ground floor, whereupon I said, "I like your books, Mr. Mosely." He said, "Thanks."

Re: Jack Reacher. I was screaming at the TV: LEE CHILD (a good friend). Trivia on Lee. He thought of the name Jack Reacher when he was reaching for something on a grocery shelf. Re: Names. People call me Deni, but I use my full name -Denise- on my books. I was writing during the day and waiting tables at night with another Denise when the manager shouted, "Denise, where are you?" I said, "Hey, I'm right here" and he said, "I mean the real Denise" 😄

Trivia: I was a Senior Girl Scout...a Mariner. We called our troop the Kon Tiki. Back then the GS organization took photos for a calendar (fund raiser) and our troop posed with Heyerdahl. In the flesh! I've always wanted to be a writer, so I was star-struck. He was sweet, gracious...and good looking!

S & G attended the same schools: Public School 164 in Kew Gardens Hills, Parsons Junior High School, and Forest Hills High School, so they couldn't have MET at a church fair. It was in high school that they became Tom and Jerry (my first husband sang backup). After Tom and Jerry, they tried Art & Paul (and went nowhere), then hit it big as S & G.

Definitely! Having researched Colorado's Ludlow Massacre (coal strike against John D Rockefeller) for my 1893-1923 Colorado saga, and having used real people except for my 2 protagonists in the Ludlow chapters, I know that Molly Brown donated food to the strikers.

I'm a voracious reader (and ran the category), but I'm a voracious novelist as well. As some of you know, I plan to dedicate my next published book to this forum 🥰

Me, too. I'm loving the ride Matt is taking me on. And I DD-love the way he pats his heart when he hears his money amount (and gets FJ right).

With all due respect -- I'm sincerely respecting your opinion -- I honestly don't see how you can get "smarmy" from Matt's enthusiastic responses and I wish I was half as intellectually "bemused" as he is. It seems to me that every time a Jeptestant goes on an extraordinary winning streak, there are people who dislike him (it's rarely a her). That includes James, Austin (of course), even Buzzy, whom I thought, and still think, would make a great J! host. There you go. Different strokes. I like his smile, too. As for offering more $$$ to the losers, if you've seen The Chase, the players often walk away with nothing.

I watched Ken. I, along with hundreds, if not thousands, of others adjusted our schedules to make sure we watched. There was no Twitter or other social media (like Forums and YouTube), so it's hard to tell, but I do not recall people complaining. Au contraire! I 💗 Matt. Haven't been this excited about a Jeptestent since James. Go, Matt, go!

It is my understanding that it was always going to be Mike Richards for permanent host, no matter who guest-hosted. It reminds me of when I tried out for a Community Theatre show and, after auditions, learned it had been pre-cast.
