  1. I thought the last two episodes were OK, but dragged out the plot which could have been resolved about 1/2 an hour sooner. Did not appreciate the fake out that made you think he was was going off to join his wife. The less said about the singing the better (there was one I liked in one of the middle episodes, but I can’t remember which one it was). I was puzzled by the setting of the the series, which at times seemed very rural and desolate but sometimes more urban than you would expect in a small town. The apartment building being one example. The show definitely needs better writing.
  2. I found the last episode a bit disappointing and rushed. It seemed like we needed an extra 20-30 minutes to wrap things up, or tighten up some of the earlier episodes, although that would have lost the cliffhanger last episode of Amanda breaking into the cockpit. I was really annoyed by Amanda being able to immediately get through to her daughter, as if she wasn’t held captive at all. As far as not having the first officer take over, I guess I could talk myself into thinking with the plane losing altitude and Amanda not willing to leave the pilot’s seat, Sam thought it better to work with her rather than trying to force her out of the seat. I also couldn’t figure out the point of the double cross of killing one of the two masterminds. It had no impact on the plot at all, so why do it? And who was the other guy in the scene? It seems like something got left on the cutting room floor.
  3. I will say, I still find it weird that the Majors season is over in mid July. I much preferred holding the PGA in mid August.
  4. Interesting. I have Optimum cable, and while the name of the show is the same as always, my DVR would not automatically record this season until I went in and set it up as a new show to record.
  5. Getting the guns on the plane goes back to the woman who was manning the x-ray machine at the airport, who let the guns through and was then murdered in her home.
  6. I was wondering how the two released prisoners knew the trailing teams phones were moving. I agree, seems like too many loose ends to wrap up satisfactorily in one episode.
  7. For some reason I found this a more enjoyable episode than most this season, despite the TMNTs, who I FFd through. I think there were more adult contestants?
  8. I was so confused, I wished I had not deleted last week’s episode so I could go back and review it.
  9. The intro to her flipping burgers says “four years earlier”. I think they mention her current rank is sergeant. Mostly the guys she’s beating up in episode 2 are CIA operators, not Marines, except the guy who wouldn’t wear headgear.
  10. If I'm not mistaken, there is a four year gap between her running down the street and her beating up special ops guys. The show glossed over all her training and post induction experiences in a couple of sentences.
  11. Not disappointed in the winner, but would have liked more competitive tension in the final round, and better weather.
  12. Sort of liked the first episode, although I am confused about the plan, and can’t figure why any terrorist financier would let an American get close to his operations, whether her parents were born in Abu Dhabi or not. Not sure how Cruz’s skills fit with this either. Episode 2 went downhill. I had zero interest in the domestic angst or watching parents of a little girl being told she was going to die. Also did not care for the extended torture sequence. i have a free subscription to Paramount+ running out next week. Not sure this will be worth renewing it for.
  13. My different theory is that Dr. Lee became famous “popping” cysts and lipomas, so while there’s a core audience that still wants the pops, maybe there’s some thinking by the producers that she needs to diversify the show somehow to keep it fresh. Plus maybe they’re having trouble finding enough impressive cysts and lipomas. I’d prefer that she deal with more diverse skin conditions.
  14. I guess I could see situations where a singer might not want to bother to prepare more than one or two performances, especially if they are not singers or semi-retired.
  15. I thought it was weird that he is looking at her as a romantic partner when he knows she’s leaving in a few days, maybe a week at most. Maybe it’s supposed to indicate how desperate he is.
  16. Interesting how fast Jack recovered from those 3rd degree burns and the rest of the torture. Not to mention Mike getting shot through the shoulder.
  17. I’m about 90% certain he was Welsh. The rugby injury confirmed it.

No offense to anyone, but I think Wimbledon needs to get more flattering clothing for the linespeople, or, um, linespeople who wear Ralph Lauren better. Was rooting for Svitolina and Jabeur, at least I got one.
  19. My current theory is that maybe the hijackers planned to use Sam all along to negotiate the deal with the government, and are planning to kidnap his wife and/or kid for leverage to get him to help them.
  20. I could be wrong, and missed something myself, but I didn’t get the impression he owned the club. I thought he was just a friend of the owner.
  21. What is up with those guys trying to confirm Elba’s wife’s address? The only person who knows he’s on the plane and might be a troublemaker is her boyfriend…..he also knows about his negotiating skills. I suppose the incident team knows his name, too, but that’s not his address anymore.
  22. Episode 4 just went live, according to a notification on my phone.
  23. My listing says Wednesdays, but I know at least some AppleTV series episodes are released the evening of the day before, like 9pm Eastern Time.
  24. They gave to the guy who got to the last obstacle the fastest, I think. I noticed that it looked like the two women who raced side by side had times of 5-6 seconds in the first round, which means they likely fell on the first obstacle. Seems wrong that one of them gets to the semis, although she did do a decent job on the side by side.
  25. I found the singing much more tolerable in the latest episode, but…I’d prefer that they devote the time to developing the plot more. I agree the resolution wasn’t really well earned. I think we needed more time with the podcaster to get a better picture of his personality.
