  1. To keep us occupied as we await the finals. Dashaun's style is just so crisp, clean, elegant, and precise!! Absolutely EFFORTLESS. And I appreciate how straight and tall his posture is when he duck walks. Y'all, this man will be 37 years old in August of this year. What an athlete.
  2. My GAWD, Ava's subletter is one of the HOTTEST humans I have ever seen.
  3. Yep! It seemed appropriate.
  4. I'm really glad that the guy hitting on Deborah wasn't a creep. Good on her getting her zipless fuck on with a cute, nice guy!
  5. Yes! I rolled it back twice and laughed out loud both times! It makes me smile to think of it right now.
  6. Y'all got me low key excited about this episode. Should I be wholly excited? Or should I calibrate my enthusiasm?
  7. I was fully prepared to root for them, but, they just ain't bringin' it.
  8. I don't know...I feel like the overall energy and skill level is not as high as previous seasons. So many of the houses seem sloppy and unready for primetime, and the costuming hasn't been particularly creative or exciting. Leiomy seems bored and irritated. Can't say I blame her. Law seems pretty engaged. I'm never sure how seriously to take Jameela. I am really enjoying Keke! Her confidence, energy and personality are perfect for this show. She's giving Auntie vibes, Auntie Maxine Waters in particular. I LOVE it. She and Law seem to jibe really well. Her glamorous kitty costume in the 3rd episode is fabulous. The guest judge was cute, but totally out of her depth. She was having a great time. Does Dashaun look different this season? He always looks great, but he looks particularly tight and smooth and polished this go round. Especially around the eyebrows. House of Revlon, they are really bringing it! Love an international house! Feeling Juicy Couture, too, they are just so much fun. High energy and creative. That 360 looked DANGEROUS! I mean, the way people were landing, I fear sprained ankles and knees galore.
  9. Why is tWitch not in the middle seat? That Russian woman played herself. All that talk about her uniqueness, and she hardly brought her A game. And got nerve to challenge tWitch! I will say that I thought that the dancing she did when she "challenged" tWitch mighta woulda got her a couple of yes votes. I hate the sob stories and was prepared to hate the last dancer. I was pleasantly surprised that she was a good dancer. I was surprised that we got only an hour tonight.
  10. Black on Black crime is not a real thing. Most crime in intra-racial - Blacks are more likely to kill Blacks and Whites are more likely to kill Whites. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/09/29/fact-check-meme-shows-incorrect-homicide-stats-race/5739522002/ "In 2018, the Federal Bureau of Investigation reported that 81% of white victims were killed by white offenders, and 89% of Black victims were killed by Black offenders. In 2017, the FBI reported almost identical figures — 80% of white victims were killed by white offenders, and 88% of Black victims were killed by Black offenders."
  11. For sure. I'm glad they came around by the end.
  12. I don't know...I'm not sure that teenage girls have changed all THAT much. I'll be honest...I groaned out loud and put my head in my hands when Vera said she gave that douche ammunition to ruin her life just so he would like her. The Mom in me was pretty appalled. I want better for the children, especially the young women. I am glad that D has the connections she has and was able to get the situation fixed.
  13. I disagree. Wasn’t she supposed to be angry about the idea of her BF cheating? Because there was no (or very little) anger in her voice or expression. Maybe she’s good in Only Murders but here I was disappointed in her flat affect and acting skills. She was pretty flat throughout. However, I feel that in this particular skit, she wasn't going for enraged as much as bewildered by what her own mind was telling her, and her own over the top reactions. Her cheerful "OK!" to Punkie's destructive suggestions cracked me up. She actually seemed to be having fun here.
  14. I will say this about Sunny's expectations for her children. I think these were the expectations she was reared with, and the one's she passed onto them. Doing your best and striving for perfection aren't unusual expectations in ambitious families of color, especially from immigrant backgrounds. There is a pressure to excel and exceed expectations. You rep the family AND the culture, and you don't want to let either down. No, it's NOT fun or easy, but it is very real. Sunny has done very well as a woman of color in a very competitive field. Imagine the balancing act of having to be a good Catholic Latina woman, smart, beautiful, fiercely competitive and successful. If her son isn't doing well in school, that's gonna reflect badly on not just on him, but on the family, and perhaps Sunny the most, as the mother. I know all this probably sounds silly and weird to most folk, but family and culture can be a helluva thing.
  15. I feel that they missed a fantastic opportunity to have Post Malone pop up on the Dionne Warwick Show. He was on Jimmy Fallon this week, he seems like a fun guy. I did crack up at the Peek at Pico bit. I work at a library, and those girls come in after school. The jealous girlfriend skit was pretty funny to me. Selena seemed the most engaged and expressive in this one, and we got Punkie! The song from this one and the Chuck E Cheese ones were total bops.
  16. Ooooooh, this is some scalding hot tea! Thanks for sharing! Ah! That's why she looks so familiar! I loved her as Yara. Heh. She's getting a lot of great sister roles. I'm glad to see that she and Anne seem to get along a lot better this season. It was so cute when she was feeling poorly and Anne was taking her pulse. When Anne was done, she smirked, chucked Mariann on the chin and told her she would live. Such a warm, sisterly moment.
  17. They deserve their own social media account, like Padma Laksmi's arm scar, lol.
  18. That was nice, and she didn't come off as a Mary Sue. You can see kids her age liking her in whatever context they're into. I got TOTAL Mary Sue vibes. Her parents seem like decent folks, but I totally got asset caretakers that have come to love their charge vibes off of them.
  19. Her eyebrows do seem more...aggressive this season, lol.
  20. I love this SO MUCH. It's so true. I agree with this. I think Anne is just is surprised as anyone that she is besotted with such a sweet, lovely and innocent woman as Ann. I also think that Marianne is a master manipulator. I know we are supposed to feel for her, that she is trapped in a marriage she doesn't want and can't express her true feelings. She's not a villain, just someone trapped by circumstances and limited choices. I kinda do feel bad for her, but, I mostly just hate manipulative people. It's interesting to see someone as independent and bold as Anne being emotionally entangled with her. It adds some shading to Anne's character.
  21. I AM EXCITED! I think Keke Palmer's energy will be a good fit for this.
  22. Oh, did anybody notice in Lizzo's first performance that at least one of the dancers was from her Amazon Prime series "Watch Out For The Big Grrrls"? Charity was in the front on the left. The other dancers may have been from the show as well. Maybe Asia and Arianna?
  23. I saw one that I still have: the bat.
  24. She has said she died 130 years ago, that puts her at 1892. Were bustles still common in the 1890s? Yes, but by the 1890s, they were pretty small, and rapidly disappearing. An older woman might have worn a larger one.
