  1. My answer would be book length. I won't mince words -- I think it's the best television drama of all time, hands down. I'm not a big TV guy, didn't used to understand how people could sit there for an hour watching a show every week for years. My wife loves it too (but has loved many shows over the years). One time during an episode I turned to her and said "Is this what it is like for other people? Does watching TV feel this enjoyable for other shows?"
  2. Picking up an earlier line of discussion, I also push back against the notion that Mad Men is mere soap opera. This is a show where, for the most part, the regular characters do not hop into bed with one another, and rotate through a series of "they had to do that plot" episodes. It is very subtle and well-written in its characterization of people who get what they want but are not happy.
  3. I'm doing a rewatch during this break. About 2/3 through Season 3 now. Sometimes I think I'll rewatch this show once a year for some time to come.
