  1. They really have no idea what to do with Emery huh? Is it me or is he starting to act like a dumb blonde?
  2. The part where they showed Michael at the NAACP Awards was chilling. I remember watching that like it was yesterday. Michael ran back to the black community (like OJ Simpson) and played on the trope of white folks lying on black men to ruin their lives or have them lynched. Instead in this case, it was a media lynching with the result being they would take his money and take his legacy down. If you look at this country’s history it wasn’t that far-fetched. My family and I fervently believed he was innocent for years because of exactly that, sad to say. Whew! There is such nuance to this case that I have to mentally unpack as an adult. This documentary was crazy.
  3. William is so wise and thoughtful. My favorite kid! I thought Lawrence was going to be more interesting and him and the dad would constantly be at odds. He is so boring. Lol. Yeah, I liked when Peggy asked who was going to watch them out there and Timmy said he was the oldest he would protect him. There was this glee on his face from being able to proclaim that he was the oldest of that subgroup of kids.
  4. I always root for the underdog so this was bound to be an enjoyable episode for me. Glad they delved into Frank and Peggy’s co-dependent relationship. I think many families have that one kid that the parent sees as “low-maintenance” as in they don’t really have to follow behind them and keep them on track and can just rely on them to be dependable and on call for whatever. Peggy’s reaction when Frank told her he loved her is literally me. “Ahh.... that word ” *chuckles* I feel so uncomfortable saying it. LOL. I just love this show. Pat is the cutest!
  5. This show is awesome. Found it on Hulu and watched through it twice! All of the boys bring something to the table which was something I worried about when I first started watching. Hope this lasts for awhile.
  6. Lola saying Missy was jerking off at the sleepover had me on the floor dead. LMAO!
  7. Those Arizona tears at the end felt like that was really Jessica Capshaw. Something about the way April (Sarah Drew) was reassuring her felt like it was ad-libbed.
  8. I thought this was excellent. It really made me miss my childhood. Haha. Didn't expect to bond with Johnny Lawrence so well but looking back he really wasn't that bad in the movie. William Zabka is obviously the MVP. I just love him! :)
  9. It was really offensive seeing Kim contorting her botched face and rolling her eyes as Kandi explained why the roach thing is problematic. I'm sure as a white woman, it might be a tad frustrating to be on this show like this, where you are basically arguing with other women, and have a seemingly innocent comment turned into something else. However, this country and our society was built on a racial hierarchy with whites on the top and blacks on the bottom. In order to reinforce this hierarchy, the most inane things were used to "highlight" the inferiority of black people. Stupid things like eating chicken or watermelon, having roaches, not being able to swim were used as justification for verbal and physical assault. All these years later, black folks know these dog whistles and these terms, and maybe as a white woman from wherever she's from, she doesn't. Either way, as a white woman, in that moment she needed to check her privilege, acknowledge that she received the lesson, and apologize. But no, she had to hunker down and lash out because they're "attacking" her. The inconvenience she feels because she can't call NeNe a cockroach is the price she pays as a white woman to not to have to worry about her kids being killed by the police, be the victim of predatory lending practices, be the victim of inadequate medical care, or being sentenced to prison for a longer time than their racial counterparts. I'm sure all the women on that stage would love the inability to call someone a cockroach be their biggest problem in life.
  10. I don’t think they were trying to portray non-Grey Sloan doctors as incompetent. The story wouldn’t have worked in the main hospital. She’s the chief. She could have ordered whatever the heck she wanted over there without question. The point was to show how women, especially black women have to advocate for their own healthcare and the implicit bias that causes non-whites to receive a lower quality of treatment when they are admitted. Plenty of folks have died died or suffered life changing injuries as a result of Grey-Sloan doctors missing something. It just happened last week with Matthew’s wife! Arizona should have known about her condition.
  11. Soggy is an unbearable, unstable mess. She doesn't have Jacqueline Laurita's nutcase self to distract the cast from her own issues this season. She is a narcissistic individual who has to make everything about herself and how it makes her look or how it makes her feel. She could have addressed that topic without being as abrasive and confrontational as she was. I like Margaret. She surveyed the land, saw that Soggy wasn't going to be the team she would play for, and got to work via the wreath ceremony. She seems like a straight shooter who will not be afraid to call Soggy to the carpet with her condescending, incoherent rants.
  12. So after the terrible season with the twins and Amber, and Teresa going off to the clinker I honestly tuned out everything Bravo-related. I watch Atlanta but not consistently so I honestly haven't thought about NJ until I was scrolling through the channels and saw there was a new season. So off to Hulu I went and binged Season 7 (which was a vast improvement-- though I attribute that to Teresa not having her fate looming over her head). Anyway, I had strong emotions about what I saw so I will do a quick little rundown. (I hope someone sees this--- I want to dish so bad!) I will start off light: Dolores- I enjoyed her for the most part, though I was not a fan of her coddling Jacqueline. I liked how she was Level headed and knew how to navigate through the drama without getting bogged down and too emotionally invested. She is a nice, sane cast mate in a cast full of lunatics. She serves the purpose as the calm one but she is not a boring, stealth bitch like Katfish Wakile. Siggy- Is an obnoxious, self centered try hard. Every scene where someone is confiding in her she interrupts them to either insert her own experience or give some fake ass life advice that she peddles in her phony self help books. Her constant crying over the Gorga Family drama and the Teresa and Jacqueline beef was downright creepy. It is clear that the current season will expose all her unwell ways now that Wacko Jacko is out of the picture but the seeds were planted during Season 7. Melissa- I vehemently hated the character of Melissa during Seasons 3-5. I was just not here for her and her husband at all. Like I was revolted by their presence. It is unfathomable that she ended up being one of my favorites. It sucks that it took the Guidices prison sentences for them to come together but it is what it is. I loved her and Tre sticking together for the most part and keeping it together for the sake of their family. Teresa- I used to go hard for Tre but she is a piece of work. Entertaining character but I could not handle her in real life. My favorite part of the season was when she got Roid Rage Rosie and Koma Kathy the absolute fuck together and told them she did not want a relationship. They exude such thirst and desperation for relevance. Especially Kathy's husband, who I won't give the satisfaction of even naming because I'm sure he has Google Alerts set with his rusty, ill formed ass. They are transparent and lame, and I was humored by them receiving a brief 30 second mention on the reunion before moving on to more relevant topics. Joe Gorga- I hated him forever but now that he, Melissa, and Teresa are on good terms he seems like a much pleasant human being. Though I could do without his numerous problematic statements that are misogynistic. Joe Giudice- Eh.... he has come across horribly throughout the series but I hope his bid in Club Fed changes him for the better and ends his alcohol addiction. He needs to come out a better man for his children. Jacqueline- Absolutely nuts! Oh my goodness! This woman is certifiable and is insanely obsessed with Teresa. She is so childish and insecure. Her behavior in Vermont was deplorable and her attack on Melissa was unwarranted and inappropriate. She is a shifty, nasty piece of work. She wanted dissension between Melissa and Teresa because she needed that angle for her storyline quest to be Teresa's closest confidant. She is a fucking wreck. Good riddance!
  13. Joe the bartender from the early years and his husband Walter.
  14. Delve into Cookie and her sister Carol's childhood. More on how the Nation of Islam killed Lucious' father.
  15. The great thing is both episodes are being counted as separate telecasts by FOX and Neilsen so the 8:00 pm episode got a 6.1 and the 9:00 pm finale got a 6.9. A growth of nearly a full point. Empire also notched a 7.2 in the final 15 minutes. The Season 2 premiere will probably be either comfortably over a 7 or even in the 8's.
