  1. Yes, and then she figured out he was her monitor. At least that's what Sarah told Paul (and Felix) after reading her letters.
  2. 1) Cosima and Scott develop a cure for her. 2) Sestras work together to save Helena. Helena gets out on her own. 3) Sarah learns to trust Mrs. S and they work together more. 4) We learn why Dyad wanted lots of little girls. 5) More Paul, less Cal. 6) No Angie or Tony. I'm undecided as to Rachel. 7) Girl clones remain the focus. 8) Felix stays integral to sestra story but also gets his own storyline. 9) Alison and Donnie continue to work together. 10) More sestra interaction and clones impersonating other clones. 11) More episodes!! :)
  3. Agree. He also has some of the best lines.
  4. For some reason Mrs. S's secrets didn't bother me. She's one of my favorite characters, so maybe that's part of it. I loved the scenes of her and Sarah - and Felix - working together. I thought Sarah was kind of harsh on her, suggesting she couldn't be trusted. I feel like Mrs. S has put Sarah and Kira first and hasn't, with one pretty big exception, screwed Sarah over - the exception being when she planned to take Kira to London with her and without Sarah.
  5. I was wondering if other OB fans would like to share their favorite tv shows, give ideas for what to watch during the long hiatus. So what do you think? What shows do you like, past or current, any genre, mainstream or obscure? Positive recommendations only, please! I'll start: Breaking Bad 24 The Wire Entourage Cougar Town Homeland (season 1) Arrested Development
  6. I like his explanation of Paul so much better than the writers' explanation: YC: So was Paul secretly working for the army this whole time? KB: No, they’ve taken him back – he played his cards right because they’ve given him a promotion. He must have figured out about the military side of the clone experiments. YC: Oh, right, because he and Mark had that conversation in the bar a few weeks ago. Maybe Paul recognized Mark from also knowing his clone in the army. KB: Right, and Paul was like, “Let me guess – army?” to Mark. So maybe that’s when Paul figured it out. And Mark is AWOL from the army. Layers upon layers upon layers. This makes much more sense!
  7. Maybe Mark is a sleeper agent too! And maybe Crazy Mark clone is Marian's boy toy! Something that always bothered me from season one was how in the world did Katya discover she had "genetic identicals," let alone that they were being killed off? I suppose it's possible the killings drew media attention, and even though she lived in Germany and the other clones were in France, Italy, and Austria (?), she saw that press coverage and noticed that the victims looked just like her. But from there to figure out they are her genetic identicals, get their passports, etc. is a bit much. Seems like she is some super international investigator! And she didn't exactly look that part. At least with Beth they gave an explanation that was sort of plausible, but Katya's detective work hasn't yet been explained. I was wondering if they were the same vials too -- only because I could have sworn that the liquid in the vials from episode 9 was clear. But I haven't gone back to check. Anyone else remember that? I don't know if bone marrow has blood in it and so would be red or not. (I bet someone here does though!) This one loose thread really bugs me ... here's from my post on the Paul thread: I'm thinking (or maybe fanwanking) maybe he was a sleeper agent -- not told what's going on but put in place to be ready to assist the military if/when it's needed. While he's monitoring Beth, he's pretty low level, but once he gets promoted to monitoring Rachel -- and learns all about the other clones and Dyad's intentions -- suddenly he's worth using. He did tell Siobhan that his promotion to major was more recent. I don't know if that works, but it makes more sense to me than to assume he was a double agent during season 1. If so, he's the worst double agent ever! He and Beth are living together, and he doesn't know that she's discovered all these clones and even has met Sammy (who at some point knows who Paul is) in Cleveland and Alison in New York, or that she's found and killed Maggie Chen, or that she's contemplating suicide. OK, so maybe he was a terrible monitor too. Or are we supposed to think he knew all these things but didn't do anything about them besides report them up the chain? Beth would have been a much better spy. On top of that, if he knows that there are clones all over North America, how come he doesn't clue in that Sarah is a clone right away? That only makes sense if he doesn't know Beth is a clone. Also, there is the scene in Alison's basement where he finds her sleeping and thinks she's Beth. He's alone in that scene, and he seems genuinely confused. And he plans to kill Sarah (he mixed a bunch of pills with alcohol is how I recall it) despite knowing she is the one clone who can procreate? That makes no sense. He told Sarah that he was serious about flying off to Rio, so I agree that's another scene that doesn't fit with his being a double agent. Also, when she blames him for Beth's suicide, he seems genuinely contrite and upset and tells her he didn't have a choice. I suppose now we're supposed to think that was Paul's acting? I kind of hate that the explanation now is that Paul was lying to everyone (even himself) throughout season 1.
  8. Agreed. When Cal told Sarah he would be sticking around for a while I couldn't help thinking, "please don't." I have nothing against the actor but the character does nothing for me.
  9. Isn't Charlotte the same actress as the girl who played the young Rachel? I thought it was, and that when Marian told Sarah Charlotte should look familiar (or something like that) it was because Charlotte looked exactly as Sarah did as a young girl. (Btw, that girl is seriously adorable!) If she were Sarah's aborted child, she wouldn't look like a child Sarah/Rachel. I also assumed Sarah felt awkward/uncomfortable because (1) the questions were very intrusive; (2) she was a prisoner (not tied down, as I had thought); and (3) she felt guilt or ambivalence or what have you about the abortion. Not speaking from experience, but that seems pretty believable to me.
  10. Yes, that makes sense. It's also possible Paul was still in the dark about Mark's being a clone at that point and didn't learn until later. Thinking about that episode reminds me of another reason Paul was a terrible monitor. He was told that monitoring Rachel was a 24/7 job, and the very next thing he does is leave town for a few days to stalk Sarah! OK, I guess that was at Rachel's direction, but I still thought it was odd. I think Sammy is also a double (or sleeper) agent. What I found puzzling was why Beth called him in the first place. Tony said he hung up on her, but it still seems odd she would call Sammy. Was she in the habit of contacting monitors? So, what I recall their saying is that they were going to kill him off in that episode and then changed their minds and made him a clone instead.
  11. I don't see the military as having a lot of tolerance for Helena's volatility. I know she's survived a lot so far, but I'm a little scared for her in season 3.
  12. How about a white eye a la the neolutionists? :) I agree! I thought it was pretty amazing that Cosima was dancing after almost collapsing at the lab, and I'm not a fan of Cal's. I thought Kira looked awfully young too, but we discovered she was 8 a few episodes ago, and then someone mentioned the actress herself is 8. Seems like if Mark knew he was a clone he wouldn't be so enthralled with Helena, as he was when she first showed up at the farm. And certainly Gracie must not know, or she would think he was an abomination too. What is she going to do when she finds out?? I like DB, but I agree he looks much better in a suit, whether birthday or otherwise.
  13. So, I completely agree that it makes no sense to have him be a double agent if he doesn't know what's going on. But now I'm thinking (or maybe fanwanking) maybe he was a sleeper agent -- not told what's going on but put in place to be ready to assist the military if/when it's needed. While he's monitoring Beth, he's pretty low level, but once he gets promoted to monitoring Rachel -- and learns all about the other clones and Dyad's intentions -- suddenly he's worth using. He did tell Siobhan that his promotion to major was more recent (count me with the others who didn't think camos were his look). Even this season, we have: (1) he doesn't take Helena but lets Mark have her; and (2) he doesn't recognize Mark is a clone. I don't recall if he said he didn't know about the clones or not, but I don't think that matters since (in the writers' minds) he could just have been lying. But for me a show where anything and everything can be explained by the characters just lying to each other isn't much fun. I still think a big part of the problem is not letting the actors in on the plot ahead of time. I still love the show and will be watching season 3 (assuming there is one, but I thought I read there would be), but I am a bit disappointed.
  14. Ok, so rethinking this the boy clones and girl clones must be related and there is something wrong with the boy clones that Helena ( or her DNA) can help fix. And I don't think the two sets would be breeding because likely the boy clones would be sterile just like the girl clones. Also it seems like breeding clones defeats the whole purpose of a clone!
  15. I guess that sort of makes sense, although we don't know why the military wants a female clone after all these years of focusing on male clones. I don't find it believable that Paul was in on it all along, although from the interview that's clearly what the writers intended. I have a feeling Dylan Bruce didn't know that, which is why he seems in the dark about the clone project throughout season 1. I feel like that was the writers' sacrificing believability for shock value. Did anyone else think it was odd that Cosima and Scott were able to build the shooting pencil device in the lab without anyone finding out? Where was Martin? And didn't Rachel think there was something odd about Kira's drawing? How did Scott know that Sarah would have time alone with Rachel? There were a lot of fortunate coincidences in that plan!! It seems like either everyone at Dyad is in on the plan, in which case why hurt Rachel at all, or they aren't (as Marian says), in which case how are Sarah and Kira able to just walk out of Dyad?
