  1. Thanks for that. I'm trying to remember if anyone ever said "Jordan Howard." The constant references to "Jordan" or even "that Jordan woman" always seemed odd, especially since folks keep saying "Eve Howard."
  2. I didn't hate it. lol Given that it's based on Claire's very limited knowledge of the inner workings of the family, it totally makes sense that she thinks it's one big happy extended family. And she grew up being told that she wasn't wanted, so all the adoration and praise proves she was very much wanted (at least in her mind). Plus her final conversation with Jordan (how did that character not get a last name?) proved that she really and truly isn't playing the Newmans. I mostly thought that, but wasn't 100% certain. Finally, we LOVE college basketball in this house. My college team won yesterday and I'll need to figure out how to keep up with our game tomorrow because our 14-year-old has his own basketball tournament. I see and hear a lot of bouncing balls this time of year. lol
  3. That dream sequence was something. It shows how much Claire/Eve needs to learn about her family. Summer and Abby being besties? But I guess Eve being around means Nick and Sharon never split because Cassie never dies. Also, Cole and Vickie are married, so none of her other children exists.
  4. I know some folks find it boring, but I'm liking the Connor storyline. I agree the young actor is doing a nice job. I also understand Chelsea's freakout. And Chelsea and Adam disagreeing on how to handle it is also pretty common. While not close to the same thing, when our son was diagnosed with ADHD, our pediatrician told me that in his experience, moms asks for the advice and seem faster to move on treatment options (medicines, therapies) than dads, who think you can talk through anything and this issue will take care of itself. That said, I agree with a previous comment on the doctor. She's super clinical and while nice, doesn't seem to really have any emotion.
  5. I need to catch up on the last two days, but I co-sign all of this. I really enjoy Nina and Chance's scenes and it finally hit me "why." It seems like a real mother-son relationship. Is she a bit fussy and overbearing? Maybe. But it's also a very warm relationship. And he doesn't fly off the handle because he knows she means well. As someone else said, we know of lots of these relationships in real life. The kid may occasionally roll their eyes, but wouldn't trade their mom for anything. It really hits a note that the other parent-child relationships seem to lack.
  6. They showed the other unit packing up right before the chief gave his big speech about 51 being a family like week. Yeah, my guess is Gibson is the new guy on truck. I recognized him right away from his time on The Bold and the Beautiful and a couple of other shows. I figured he wasn’t on for just a bit part. Then they did a scan of his turnout coat so that we could see his name, just like they did when Gallo joined.
  7. THIS! It drives me crazy that Jabot, Newman and I guess Winters-Chancellors all have co-CEOs when that's not really a thing in the business world, especially not in huge international companies. Most have a CEO and a president and they would have different responsibilities. And I know this is not a show about business, but I always roll my eyes when they sit around to have a two-minute "business" discussion." It's always the most surface BS ever. Kyle's idea to amp up (I hope not actually start) the internship program, which earned kudos from Jack, was silly. This is a company that has been in business for decades. I assume it would already have a very robust internship program. I'd be more impressed it he said focus on bringing in more women interns, interns from HBCUs, interns from underserved high schools, etc.
  8. Ok. Thanks. I’m a day behind, so I just saw that flashback. I thought I had missed it the first go around but I guess it’s new because it’s different from the flashback we saw from Tucker‘s point of view a few weeks ago. That was frightening, and seems really out of character as others have mentioned.
  9. Wait. Did they seriously not know what happened to Chance until he woke up and told them? He wasn’t shot on the street with no witnesses. He said he and other officers were working a scene. No one bothered to tell his closest of kin or Elena what went down? And as others have said, he I won’t even get into the fact that the only thing he was hooked up to was a pulse ox. Lawd.
  10. Just a couple of minor points, but seeing Abby today and then seeing the rest of the kids gathered in Victor’s office made me realize how easy it is to forget that she’s the fourth child. When was the last time they had a scene together? Also, I know we haven’t seen the Williams house in 15 years lol, but why wouldn’t Heather and Lucy stay there in the short term? We wouldn’t have to see it, but just hear about it in passing.
  11. This is the observant neighbors one. “Some people clean as they cook. Not these folks.” Lol
  12. I’m seeing two Geico commercials a lot lately. My current favorite is the couple who moved in next to the observant neighbors, who are styled as newscasters. I think they are hilarious. There’s also one with the Dad and the two girls who have invasive weeds. That one creeps me out a bit because the weeds are very close to slithering. *shivers* I also really like the commercial in the airport where the dad reflexively tells the TSA agent to have a nice flight after she says it to him. I do that all the time! It’s funny how put out his family, the other passenger and the TSA agents are. lastly, I’m still really loving all of the Wendy’s spots.
  13. While you could quibble with the stylng of Mamie's locs, I overall like the idea. I didn't really care for that wig they stuck on her head for the gala. A random observation, but I really like the Audra and Tucker scenes. He's great with everyone, but she really sparkles with him. I find their whole "friends with benefits" thing believable. They really get and understand each other.
  14. I'm sorry if I missed it, so feel free to point me elsewhere, but why are characters suddenly going overseas? Michael was getting ready to defend Phyllis, but then was suddenly off on trip (I forgot where). Now, Victoria is in Madrid, Victor is in Germany and Nick is abroad. Anything to do with the actors' strike?
  15. Ahhh, that’s right. I think I was following their Instagram up until the Tokyo games, but then unfollowed because of spoilers, and then never re-followed. And that’s a good point about a little less swimming giving some other sports more exposure. It’s interesting because I haven’t seen any Olympics ads. They usually start previews about a year out, but they’re probably trying to figure out who to feature. For sure Suni Lee, Katie Ledecky, Sydney McLaughlin, Noah Lyles. Actually, a handful of track and field folks. My guess is we will start seeing some soft promos during the Track and Field worlds next month.
  16. The 2023 swimming worlds ended yesterday. The U.S. appears to be in an interesting spot. There seems to be a dearth of big names. Katie Ledecky is around and winning, of course. And so is Ryan Murphy, but I don't think his name is recognizable among those who only pay attention in Olympic years. Caeleb Dressel, who was clearly being billed as the next big thing after Phelps and Lochte, left midway during Worlds last year, went on an extended break to manage mental health issues, and then didn't even make the team this year. Plus, he and his wife announced just this week that they are having a baby. Who knows, but I kind of get the feeling that he might not come back for the Olympics, and Rowdy Gaines and Dan Hicks very briefly touched on that this week. And on top of all that, even though the U.S. won the most medals, we only won five gold, which is the lowest number in years and years. The announcers didn't seem too worried about it. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out. Swimming has had top billing basically since the 2008 games and this go around NBC couldn't be bothered to show more than a one-hour compilation. Thank goodness for Peacock!
  17. Yeah, I couldn't figure out why Sharon and Chance went back to the coffeehouse. I guess they really did pack her house set up again after the Cameron Kiersten storyline wrapped.
  18. THIS. Diane goes from a mid-level marketing job reporting to Mariah to the Head of Talent? Those are completely different tracks. Not to say you can't switch paths, but you don't switch like that! It's a wonder that Jabot and Newman Enterprises manage to keep the thousands of people who work for them. With the constant C-suite turnover plus no real chance of being promoted to the C-suite, I'd give my letter of resignation and head elsewhere. It looks like we are starting to see Tucker's bad side. (I missed the previous go-rounds with the character.) But TSJ remains a hoot. I really like his ad-libs. For instance, in an episode last week, he came back to the Abbott house and sat on the couch to talk to Ashley. You couldn't really see it, but I could tell he was taking off his shoes. But it was in the flow of the conversation. And it's a totally normal thing for people to do -- come home and take off your shoes. Ashley had her feet pulled up on the couch and I was wondering why she was walking around the house in 4-inch heels. 😂
  19. Summer: Kyle, I smell perfume. Have you been with someone? Kyle: **smirks** Goodnight, Summer. (Dips out and heads upstairs.) Me: (screams) That scene was pretty cold-blooded. lol
  20. True. I thought they were testing material for their TV pilot. It was pretty unbelievable. I also don't believe that Nya would have bonded with Miranda like that. LTW and Charlotte and Seema and Carrie, I get.
  21. Yes, I don't have personal experience but I have the same understanding. I think the items are likely presented in a more caring and thoughtful way, though. I also think it's odd that they would have two sets to give to the parents, but dramatic license and all.
  22. I know at one point, the Allie and Noah actors had moved to recurring status. I missed that they had moved to Europe. As for the sets, I don't know, but I suppose it's money to have builders recreate sets all the time. I think it just goes in cycles. For example, Sharon's been featured fairly prominently for the last month, so she finally got her house back after many months. But now that that storyline is concluding, we'll likely start seeing Devon's house or maybe the Newman's living room again. And Sharon only appears in the coffee shop. Also, I guess we are back to CEO and COO being the only executive positions available in GC. Victoria could create the role of president and give it to Nate. He could outrank Nick and we could still have some real drama, but not this manufactured mess of kicking him out.
  23. Yeah, the gift boxes were so tacky. I have a friend who had a late loss. The nurses did place a knit cap on the baby's head when they bought him to her. That's one thing. It wasn't packed up in a bright pink box with booties and footprints. I honestly thought Elena was dropping off boxes of cookies given her demeanor when handing them to Sally and Adam. And for someone with keener memories: I know the hospital room has been used for many years now. But in the past, wasn't there a lobby with chairs right outside the room? With a nurses station? And maybe an elevator? I can't figure out what that space right outside of the room is supposed to be, but it looks off.
  24. I really like Elena in general, but whew! These last few days, she's been taking all kinds of Ls because of poor writing. Even if they appeared off screen, I would have liked to have heard references about Sally's doctor, hospital counselors and possibly hospital clergy visiting her. And it would have been nice to have some indication that someone had fully explained what happened to the baby to Sally. She could very well still be angry (that's understandable), but based on her conversation with Adam today, it doesn't sound like she's grasped how dire the situation was.
  25. I swear Elena will get off my list, but not today! 😂 1. Why didn't Adam get a chance to hold his baby? 2. Why would she give them both "gifts" without explaining what was inside? Why would she leave Sally alone with hers after acknowledging that she had had a rough day and was dealing with hormones, etc.? Yes, we got a lot of ACTING today (tm another poster), but none of this makes sense! I did like the Adam/Nick hug. Back to Sharon, while I think it's gross she's still wearing the dress, I'm more grossed out that she's still wearing her boots!
