  1. Lifetime doesn't produce most of their movies like Hallmark does. They just act the US TV distributor for movies that are produced and filmed earlier in the year. Hallmark is busy churning them out like an assembly line.
  2. I don't think promo is the problem. The commercials were on damn near every channel leading up to the pilot and they promoted it during some of the baseball games including the Padres opener. No they announced when the announced the casting they were going down this path. So regardless of who got cast they would've been going down this path
  3. Most of these little kids annoy me (and I adore kids in real life) and this little girl annoyed me in the movies she was in last year so I appreciated that she toned it down a little this year. I only ever saw bts and pieces of Merry Kissmas since last year since it came off as so damn boring. I missed the Sunday movies because I was in NYC. Just reminded me of the discussion we had on here. The place sure seemed full of Christmas spirit to me.
  4. I watched it and liked it in spite of some flaws. I disagree about the communication between the leading lady and the boyfriend. Watch the rest of it and your opinion may change on that part because he was terrible when it came to communicating regarding his ex wife. As for the ex father-in-law he was too over the top nasty for most of the movie so the attempt to redeem him at the end fell flat for me.
  5. The will Mike go plot was boring and pointless with nothing actually at stake. I hate when shows do episodes focused on the main lead leaving or getting killed off because you know there's no chance in hell it will actually happen
  6. I liked him in Franklin & Bash though really disliked the final season of that show. F&B was more comedy than drama though
  7. I liked the scenes with the tech guy better than her angsty good bye with Mike
  8. The only one who mainly does original movies and has this issue is Hallmark. Ion is just a distributor who selects movies that were already produced from other production companies. UP does the same thing save for one or two original movies they help produce . And the ones they did this year we're not filmed back to back and weren't even filmed in the same areas. Lifetime mostly does that as well. The one new movie I saw for Lifetime Heaven Sent was filmed back in 2014 and she level for distribution. Hallmark looks at viewer like "Gotta Catch Em All!" so they decided doing the most movies will keep all eyes on them.
  9. They should've just want there with the kiss instead of backing out at the last minute after spending so much time with the flirty and nuzzling.
  10. The lead actress in Firehouse Christmas was pretty enjoyable in PixL's The Right Girl. And I liked her in the movie Cup of Love too
  11. ITA that FFC had a very sleepy pace. I had started to watch it on Saturday but ended up deciding to leave it for Sunday to watch The Christmas Swap instead. End up watching it on Sunday after having run errands all day. So it was more like a wind down type of movie before I got ready to watch The Rooftop Christmas Tree. I'm still looking forward to Girlfriends of Christmas Past Christmas next Sunday which looks like it will actually have the comedy part of rom-com. And it has a different plot than many of the standard Christmas movies. http://uptv.com/movies/girlfriends-of-christmas-past/ Christmas with the Andersons is also next week and that one looks like it will be a funny one and its a family comedy so another break from alot of the rom com tropes.
  12. I've check out the Hallmark facebook page. No teens on there only grown woman mostly above the age of 30. And the interns who run the page give the same copy and paste responses we you post anything but praise.
  13. There's alot of fanfare but I'd love to know if this year's ratings are better than last years. I feel like last year there were all these press releases about ratings and none this year.
  14. The movie was based off a book that was based on a true story so I'd love to know when the actual case took place. Also would love to know what small town it took place in as those folks were obviously overly concerned with what someone else does on their own property. I know they said outside of Christmas it was like Mr. Landis didn't exist. When they looked through his records they couldn't find much. I did enjoy the movie though and I'm interesting in reading the book. There were some very touching moments with Mr. Landis that made me a little misty eyed.
  15. I watched both Falling for Christmas and The Christmas Swap on Saturday. I'd say the Christmas Swap is more one for the adults who don't want the usual Christmas rom com. I'm not the biggest fan of Christian Keyes but I thought he played his role here well compared to some of the other movies I've seen him in. And I really enjoyed Dondre Whitfield and his character. And it was nice to see the relationship his character had with his mother helping her through her Alzheimer's. Christian's character was just selfish. I wasn't expecting that ending. Falling for Christmas had a good leading male. Niall Matter was really good in this one I liked him better in this than Stop the Wedding. I'm a little meh on Leah Renee. That little girl annoyed me as most of the little girls in these movies do. My mother and I were discussing this because she asked why these children in these movies are so eager to fix their parents up with someone. Going to watch A Rootop Christmas Tree on UP tonight. It looks like it will be a really good one.
  16. I'll be watching TV One's The Christmas Swap tonight Also on tonight is Falling for Christmas on UP
  17. The parade did introduce me to Brett Eldredge and I've been playing his new album.
  18. Back when UP was Gospel Music Channel I remember them playing that yule log on Christmas Eve . I always changed the channel in favorite of Christmas themed reruns
  19. That's not dealing with the complaints of diversity. They've been making sidekicks ethnic for years including casting well known actresses like Vivica Fox in the sidekick role. Handling the complaints would be actually casting a non white non passing for white lead. Hallmark doesn't deserve props for making anyone the supporting background character when their making so many movies a year.
  20. Fairly Odd Parents has technically been running for over a decade ( I still remember when it was just a series of shorts) though it stopped for about a year and its revival has been unwatchable. The god awful live action movies did not help.
  21. Hallmark has been getting alot of complaints this year about the lack of diversity on their channels and they basically have nothing to say when they can't post their usual response.
  22. I wish they'd realize Kristina and Franco don't work as characters either and get rid of them next
  23. I enjoyed Merry Christmas, Baby! the most out of the Chandler family Christmas movies. I loved all the talk about fathers and their daughters and the scene with the candle lighting almost brought the water works. Stephanie and her over the top self made me laugh as usual but it was also nice to see her bond with Blair. And it was good to see Marci and Liz running their business and dealing with the return of Adam Reed. Baby Chandler was adorable My One Christmas Wish reran tonight. That movie makes me cry every time it remains one of my favorites.
  24. Watched Merry Christmas, Baby! on UP. Always good to see a positive black family on television and even though this movie is the 4th in the series I liked this one the most. Its so rare to see non white families as leads in Christmas films and I liked that they also touched on the importance of a father's role in his daughter's life.
  25. I thought the lead felt like a real person in 2016. So often you watch a Christmas movie and the characters are too perfect and unrealistic in their interactions. And the women don't feel like modern women. The family in this one felt real.
