  1. This had nothing to do with Reality Steve. He only wishes he could have that much influence. This has everything to do with stan culture and some folks being too overly invested in this show and buying into the fairytale.
  2. Bryan's mom mentioned not taking him away from the family because that happens in some marriages. The man and the woman will get married, the mil and wife won't get along and then after they have kids they stop talking to the mil.
  3. They've introduced quite a few new actors recently and their Christmas movies always feature people who arent Hallmark regulars.
  4. It's really not that hard to take a basic theme and tailor it so that it incorporates different races and ethnicities. I read a lot of books so I see authors do it all the time. Casting the best actor for the role for Hallmark at the moment seens to be only white actors. Black, Latino,Asian, etc people fall in love every day and yes their race and ethnicity does effect their daily lives. The world is not colorblind. Hallmark executives know this. They just don't want to put in the work to do diversity correctly hence the constant exuses. They need to hire diverse writers to create these characters.
  5. Because cultural differences do exist and are key factors in the way a person is raised. Their morals, traditions, thr foods they eat, languages they speak, etc. The solution is not to pretend these differences don't exist it's to make sure it's not the only character attritubute. You can be the female lead and still have your heritage be a part of the character.
  6. Alexa's mother is a white non Latina. Her dad is Colombian. She's played many Latina roles however the ones on Hallmark I don't consider them to be when there's nothing to indicate her characters are Latina. Hallmarks previous excuse about the lack of diversity was filming in Canada. As of there are only white actors in Canada and their leads aren't Americans who reside in California.
  7. I post this in the Hallmark thread but wanted to post it here as well http://thepcprinciple.com/?p=10828 Michelle Vicary, who is the Executive Vice President, Programming & Network Publicity Crown Media Family Networks in reply to a question about diversity Michelle Vicary – "We understand that diversity is as important an issue and part of programming as certainly making great content and we are very focused on it. We are excited about several projects that we have coming up soon. We just had Alexa PenaVega in Destination Wedding for us, Al Roker’s mystery movie series starring Holly Robinson Peete gets its debut this October. I am beyond thrilled that we are in business with Judy Smith, the original Washington D.C. “fixer” that Shonda Rhimes based the ever-popular Olivia Pope and “Scandal” on, so we are looking at a lot of the talent that speaks to our audience. And you’re right, diversity is so important, and we look forward to making as many top programs from as many top people in the industry as we can." Alexa PenaVega is half white, they make sure she looks as white as possible and Hallmark has her playing characters that are not portrayed as hispanic at all yet call it diversity. And they're doing one diverse movie out what 50 a year?

  9. You couldn't pay me to go to this event but adult coloring books are a big thing at the moment. I see them in every store. And some people at my job have them.
  10. I like Antoinette too! That was my first introduction to her and I really enjoyed her there and now she's in Dear White People
  11. I felt like I missed an essential piece and was left wondering why it made Rachel teary eyed. They clearly gave Peter the Bachelor edit there
  12. I don't think she's a good actress either. I never watched her on GH but I did see her in Lizzie McGuire and thought she was terrible then and she and I are close in age. Saw her in some dolphin movies years ago and didnt care for her in that either.
  13. The actor was awful on Passions and even worse on GH. Dentures Joe was so bad. I was glad they didn't drag his inevitable death out forever.
  14. They already did Romeo and Juliet our parents are enemies crap with Kristina and Joe Scully's grandson who wasnt even raised in the mob. No one cared about Joe Scully let alone a son and grandson. The only ones who cared about Scully Jr were Tracy fans so desperate for her to have a love interest not named Luke they were they were shipping her with him another rapist with no redeeming qualities.
  15. I can't buy LA playing a lawyer. I don't even buy her as a barista. Or as a college student. I really can't picture her Kristina doing anything but shopping. I never even bought it when they said she was her high school valedictorian. As far as school Kristina was said to have taken AP classes in high school and a summer course right after graduation so she went into Yale with college credits already only to drop after a few weeks. She never went with Trey to Los Angeles because Trey died. She was doing community service at the prison and then left for Wesleyan where she supposedly did extra sessions(winter and summer I guess) to catch up with school yet she's still somehow undergrad with no major revealed.
  16. I liked the brother and he friend's story in How Not to Propose but not the main couple's. I'm rewatching Late Bloomer this weekend.
  17. Once I saw she was the lead I decided to skip it. I saw one movie she was the star of and it was terrible. Her family produces these TV movies for her and her brother to star in.
  18. He and it was annoying. He would leave for pilot season so he could focus strictly on auditioning and then if he booked a role he'd been offscreen for filming.
  19. Majority of these characters have money and I find that the wardrobe looks very cheap and ugly
  20. It's an easy money grab for them. I wish they'd do some Halloween movies again beyond The Good Witch since they do nothing in October until the Christmas movies start. Also there's plenty of Thanksgiving themed cozy mysteries that they could do a Thanksgiving themed mystery movie. They're giving Candace Cameron Bure a dual role when they could've just called up her friends Tia and Tamera who are well known amoung the same audience they target and actual twins. Candace will be starring in Christmas Sister Swap Synopsis: Just because they are identical does not mean these twins even like each other. Estranged twin sisters get together for an obligatory pre-Christmas lunch, a year after their mother died. Both women are unhappy and frustrated with their own lives. Though not close, each is envious of the other's life. What's a twin to do but take advantage of this? And who would be the wiser? They do what any identical twins in need of new outlooks would do -- they swap lives until Christmas Day. And by doing so, each woman discovers the true meaning of her life and gains a deeper perspective and appreciation for what she already had.
  21. Nothing you listed is an unpopular opinion on here
  22. Is it really hard to be #1 movie of the week when your the only widespread channel showing movies of the week for the month? https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/hallmark-channels-june-weddings-programming-event-takes-vicary
  23. If those folks were bringing in viewers the ratings would reflect that. But since they aren't there's really nothing to lose at this point.
